I laughed way more than I should have at such a silly joke, but it was actually funny. Maybe I'm just easily entertained by Scootaloo the chicken. Or in this comic's case, the Cucco. I wonder if Anju keeps her in a pen?
@^Graff Sir, please make it your priority this instant to go buy/pirate any LoZ game (Preferrably Ocarina of Time/ A Link to the Past) Before you are overrun by a herd of chickens as seen in the series.
FOR ANYONE WHO DOES NOT GET THE JOKE. In the Zelda games there are chicken like creatures that are called "Cucco" Cucco's can be used to hover across small gaps. In this comic Link uses Scootaloo instead because everyone knows that Scootaloo is a chicken. Now go play a Zelda game.
I'm playing through Wind Waker for the first time, and I kept feeling like something was just not right. But I couldn't put my finger on it. Now I realize:
THERE ARE NO CHICKENS IN WIND WAKER.
There's pigs, but it's just not the same. As far as I'm concerned, the lack of chickens means Wind Waker is not canon, and also the worst video game ever made.
I'm kidding of course, actually, it's my favorite Zelda. Could use more Scootaloo, though.
If I want to check out Zelda, where should I start? As far as I am aware Zelda has a huge legacy with like dozens of episodes (prolly exaggerating here), so...which episode should I play if I'm not planning to play each an every episode from the beginning? //Someone above said Ocarine of Time and A Link to The Past //
The games are all self-contained, with blink-and-you'll-miss-them connections. No need to worry about an overarching plot or canon.
For quality, Ocarina of Time and Link's Awakening are my favourites. But there really isn't a terrible game in the series, so you can grab whatever's at the local game shop and be good.

ReplyDeleteI knew what this blasted comic would be the second isaw Link and the chasm >.<
ReplyDeleteI have to be honest, at first I didn't quite get it. Damn Scootaloo chicken jokes, the one time I need it it escapes me.
ReplyDeleteI don't get it at all...
ReplyDeleteHeh, I didn't actually get the joke but I laughed.
ReplyDeleteI've never actually played any Zelda games...

I find it sad that a lot of you have not played any Legend of Zelda games.
ReplyDeleteDamn Black Ops corrupting my people..
Haha, the look on Link's face, is the look that would be on your face, if Scootaloo was flying you across a ravine, for treashah.
ReplyDeleteIt's been a while since I played any classic Zelda.
ReplyDeleteScootaloo! Scoot-Scoot-Scootaloo!
If you attack a Scootaloo, the consequences are catastrophic...
ReplyDeleteYES
ReplyDeleteBrilliant!
+1 scootachicken

ReplyDelete^A flock of Rainbow Dashes will come down and buck the everliving fuck out of you.

OMG lol XD
ReplyDelete......Scootamaybe :l
ReplyDeleteAnd then lulz were had
ReplyDeleteClever. Scootaloo the Chicken will never die, will it?
ReplyDeleteI gave a single weak chuckle, mostly to be polite.
ReplyDeleteI understand the joke, but i'm unsure as to why it is metaphorically, "Completing the circle". What was the circle it's supposedly completing?
ReplyDeleteAs for the joke itself, I've been a fan of Zelda for many years, so to see this gives me happy feelings.
Alright, you got me, I lol'd.
ReplyDeleteYay this was funny. Cuckoo
ReplyDeleteLink Why U No Use Hookshot?
ReplyDeleteSeriously, Though This Comic Is Great.
Um, I can't see it. :/
ReplyDelete"It's just a hop, skip, and a...Scootaloo?"
ReplyDeleteFor those of you that really don't get the joke.
ReplyDeleteScootaloo is a chicken.
Link uses Chickens to glide across large gaps.
I laughed.
I lol'd.
ReplyDeleteI always thought Navi might be a parasprite...
ReplyDeleteI was like: uh... cute, I guess?
ReplyDeleteThen I remembered 'Staremaster'... XDDD
Suddenly, Scootaloos everywhere.
ReplyDeleteI'm feeling ashamed that I have ever played a Zelda game. And I'm not even young either.
ReplyDeleteSame with Monkey Island.
I have nothing against them. It just never happened.
Two legends I somehow never got to play. :(
@Ewyndall
ReplyDeleteThat being said...

//Someone above said Ocarine of Time and A Link to The Past //
Ocarina of Time!
ReplyDeleteI waited for a fifth panel of them both falling into the darkness that never came.
ReplyDeleteDidn't get it, so didn't laugh.
ReplyDeleteRead explanation, still didn't quite laugh, but it got a pretty good facepalm out of me. Not a bad comic.

Hahaha... Yeah, take the chicken and fly Link!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo Scootaloo is a cucco now?
ReplyDeleteGood thinking, link, use those chickens.
ReplyDeleteI lol'd twice.
