I laughed way more than I should have at such a silly joke, but it was actually funny. Maybe I'm just easily entertained by Scootaloo the chicken. Or in this comic's case, the Cucco. I wonder if Anju keeps her in a pen?

ReplyDeleteIn the Zelda games there are chicken like creatures that are called "Cucco" Cucco's can be used to hover across small gaps. In this comic Link uses Scootaloo instead because everyone knows that Scootaloo is a chicken.
Now go play a Zelda game.

I'm playing through Wind Waker for the first time, and I kept feeling like something was just not right. But I couldn't put my finger on it. Now I realize:

There's pigs, but it's just not the same. As far as I'm concerned, the lack of chickens means Wind Waker is not canon, and also the worst video game ever made.
I'm kidding of course, actually, it's my favorite Zelda. Could use more Scootaloo, though.

ReplyDeleteThe games are all self-contained, with blink-and-you'll-miss-them connections. No need to worry about an overarching plot or canon.
For quality, Ocarina of Time and Link's Awakening are my favourites. But there really isn't a terrible game in the series, so you can grab whatever's at the local game shop and be good.
