I once, way back in highschool, gave a 10 minute presentation about Godzilla because I like Godzilla and I knew it would annoy the hell out of my classmates....I so wish I could do one on ponies!
My favorite one yet. He actually used image macros and scenes from the shows; most of these seem to use one or two pictures and those pictures are the crappy clip art no one likes.
I wish we could have one of these be THE definitive presentation to show someone why we like the show. Professionally made looks and everything else. Some of these are alright, but none of them are anywhere close to the "definitive" thing I'm looking for.
Poor audio is kind of annoying, but a great presentation by the brony. The class reacted well too, not at all like the dickheads from the British bronies class. My only criticism is...Fluttershy is his favorite pony? How mainstream.
I took a class on Powerpoint and how to design and prepare a talk or presentation. We had a number of silly 'lighthearted' ones like this. That's about the only class I could think of where you could get away with doing a presentation.
Also, if I had a prompt that allowed me to do a presentation on the show, this is almost exactly how I envisioned my presentation going.
"you wouldn't expect" *show a picture or two* explain some merits of show with a funny picture on screen *show a scene* explain some more merits with a funny picture on screen *show a scene*
This has got to be one of the best ones so far. The ones where the guys are getting laughed at and heckled are harder to take seriously. He quickly won over his audience with humor and followed up with actual defenses for why he enjoyed the show. Humor is the main element in a defense of ponydom. A total douchewad will do anything for the lulz, even watch this show. Show them the lulz! People that don't use video clips need to understand that you have to see these ponies in action to get into the show. Clip art only tells so much about a show to a prospective viewer. Just saying you like that show, tells people you like the show. Choosing clips that highlight your points really gives you backup. Unless you are LMFAO hilarious and incredibly cool already, your endorsement alone only goes so far. Let Rainbow dash back you up bro.
I think after The Mu did his presentation, everyone wanted to make a buck or nine off of doing all these presentations of why it's cool to love ponies. These things are getting repetitive, seriously. The first three were okay, but after a while, it's just sort of like "dsfredkl"
Poor audio quality aside, this is probably the best speech about the show itself so far. Lots of humor, well put together, gives valid reasons for why the show is so good.
i TOTALLY need to get a panel at a convention and be the first one in Arizona to have a My little pony panel at a convention. it will be awesome (especially if i get seth to do it as well lol)
While I do enjoy seeing that people are sharing the wealth with the unenlightened, these are quite repetitive. I would like to see a new take on the presentation, or at least not following the cookie-cutter recipe that they all seem to use. I would enjoy doing one, but I have neither an oral presentation where it would work nor a class where I could fit it in appropriately.
Nonetheless, good job to those that did these and good luck to those that do them in the future.
People, these presentations are people spreading the word of poni. If you're getting tired of all them, then don't watch them. But discouraging these from being posted is similar to discouraging these from being made, meaning that fewer bronies will be willing to openly express their love for the show. While that may be fine and dandy for some fanbases, no wrong can come from spreading the word of love and tolerance.
Yup. A picture is worth a thousand words, and TV is 24,000 words per second!
I dunno, I just thought it was obvious that you should use clips from the show... and yet this is the first one I've seen to actually do it, minus the physics presentation.
@MichaelXX2 Actually, I never saw any presentation about ponies until I firmly decided I was going to do this for my persuasive speech. I was planning on talking about religion, but then I discovered ponies for the first time. I figured this would be a more fun topic. It was only then that I discovered lots of people already did presentations (and that the fanbase was far more active than expected).
I'm sorry if this is repetitive for some of you. I tried hard with it, so if you decide to watch, I hope you enjoy.
Also, I apologize for that crappy audio quality. I did write captions up on it, so please watch on YouTube if you're having trouble understanding.
OT: I don't know what people are saying about these getting boring. I'll admit that there have been one or two that were boring, but that was more because of the speech itself, rather than because of the repetition of them.
I might be biased though, and still am living vicariously through these, because I never thought to record MY college presentation on ponies.
come on guys. sure some of these get tiresome(i still like this particular one though) but dont discourage other bronies from doing presentations of there own. the more presentations the more the herd grows!
I don't get why people feel the need to comment saying these are getting boring. they don't come up that often, so just ignore them. I personally find them quite interesting to watch.
Also the last one was with an Australian class, not British. The guy said in his presentation that he moved from Britain to Australia.
This was, no lie, the best pony presentation out of the whole bunch (except the physics one, of course). The inclusion of clips was a brilliant move, and the dude's manner and voice were neither arrogant nor dull. Mad props to this guy.
This is probably one of my favorites. Beyond the awesome deep voice, he used actual clips, was confident about it and actually put forth a pretty solid representation of the show.
Showing people the 'yay' scene - that's how you convince them you aren't just a wierdo!
Also, he gets points for recognizing the best pony.
This is probably my favourite one I’ve seen so far. Just for generally backing up his points with clips and pictures rather than just throwing them in. Also no hate in this one.
Nice jokes (house in a tree - tree in a house XD) He kept his audience entertained and their attention was surely undivided by the dynamic presentation. This here is a staple in brony presentations.

Kinda getting tired of these to be honest.
VastaKustutaI hope it will be a good laugh...
VastaKustutaI once, way back in highschool, gave a 10 minute presentation about Godzilla because I like Godzilla and I knew it would annoy the hell out of my classmates....I so wish I could do one on ponies!
VastaKustuta@saurian
VastaKustutaYeah I agree these are getting a bit old.
Deep deep voice.
VastaKustutaEeyup.
Yep I'm definitely going to do something like this for a presentation.
VastaKustutaThere's captions if you watch it on Youtube.
VastaKustutaI just started being a brony within 36 hours. I find these humorous, but I can see how after number three, they would become a nuisance.
VastaKustutaWhat Saurian said.
VastaKustutaCould barely understand him but it was a great presentation. He showed some great scenes.
VastaKustutaPony in Arthurian armor?
VastaKustutaBut that would make Angel Bunny..
RUN AWAY! RUN AWAY!
I'm still enjoying these a lot.
VastaKustutaholy deep voice batman

VastaKustutaThis one is very hard to hear. Anypony willing to write up a transcript?
VastaKustutaPoor audio is kind of annoying, but a great presentation by the brony. The class reacted well too, not at all like the dickheads from the British bronies class. My only criticism is...Fluttershy is his favorite pony? How mainstream.
VastaKustutaNvm, discovered the captions!

VastaKustuta"You have castles made out of clouds, dripping with rainbows of awesome."
VastaKustutaThis made my day.
This one is still my favorite, the only problem is he comes on a little strong with the humorous hate:

@Anonymous
VastaKustutaThat was terrible.
@Anonymous
VastaKustutaThis was the one that I hated the most.

VastaKustutaI just realised that two of these were in Australia?! Must have a lot of Bronies there.

VastaKustutaThis presentation has a great balance of show + tell. Beyond the occasional stuttering, it's pretty solid. Approve!
VastaKustutaPoor audio quality aside, this is probably the best speech about the show itself so far. Lots of humor, well put together, gives valid reasons for why the show is so good.

VastaKustutaKinda makes me wish I hadn't dropped out of college, oral presentation was one of the few classes I did exceptionally well in.
VastaKustutaAm i a jerk if I suggest we not quite shove Pony into people's faces so...blatantly?
VastaKustutaWhile I do enjoy seeing that people are sharing the wealth with the unenlightened, these are quite repetitive. I would like to see a new take on the presentation, or at least not following the cookie-cutter recipe that they all seem to use.

VastaKustuta@BagOfChips
VastaKustutaI agree. This was well crafted. And the only thing holding it back (sound quality) is easily remedied by captions.
He did talk a little fast, but I gues that had to do with fitting things in the time limit.
@viethra
VastaKustutaI have to agree completely. A piece of art cannot do the same justice to the show that a clip can, even if it's really well drawn.
Yup. A picture is worth a thousand words, and TV is 24,000 words per second!
VastaKustutaI dunno, I just thought it was obvious that you should use clips from the show... and yet this is the first one I've seen to actually do it, minus the physics presentation.
It's like pinkie pie said; the quickest way to get someone on your side is a laugh.
VastaKustutaIt's kinda hard to understand cause of the low quality sound, but damn... dat voice.
VastaKustutaWhat's this? The closed captioning on Youtube actually works?
VastaKustuta@MichaelXX2 Actually, I never saw any presentation about ponies until I firmly decided I was going to do this for my persuasive speech. I also did a presentation at my uni. Didn't have a camera to record it though. :(
VastaKustuta@The Dread Pirate Roberts
VastaKustutaNot Arthurian. It's the armor of a Crusader.
And it's Scootaloo. You get it? Eh? Eh?
OT: I don't know what people are saying about these getting boring. I'll admit that there have been one or two that were boring, but that was more because of the speech itself, rather than because of the repetition of them.

VastaKustuta"It's a shame, all I have left to take are programming classes. Not too many opportunities to do stuff like this there!"
VastaKustutaAre you serious? I sure as hell will try to plug ponies next semester in my class. And try the discreet conversion of all my classmates.
I don't get why people feel the need to comment saying these are getting boring. they don't come up that often, so just ignore them. I personally find them quite interesting to watch.

VastaKustutaGreat presentation. Awesome job.
VastaKustuta@Saurian
VastaKustutaHow could you ever get old of this, these people are heros.
Probably the best one yet.
