Why does it always seem like the teacher left the room the moment the presentation started, or do they just not care about what these students say? If I was a teacher and my students were interrupting like this and asking questions like those, i'd deal out some loving and tolerant discipline!
"Are you gay?" ... Really, gentlemen? You probably play close-contact sports, which means you're rubbing up on other guys... And you ask this kid if he's gay for watching a cartoon. Idiots. Sorry if that rubs anyone the wrong way, but as a pansexual, stuff like that bothers me.
Besides, he's way too cute to be gay. I'd totally date him. XD
Well, I suppose the entire class now thinks he's a repressed homosexual manchild or something... Interrupting someone during a presentation shows a lack of respect for the speaker.
Do like how he says "I like My Little Pony, deal with it"
Have these guys never heard of the phrase "guilty pleasure" before? Seriously, what the fuck. Dude did a great job with the presentation and his classmates come across as raving fucking douchebags.
Well, this guy's class certainly ....participated more than some of the others. Ah well, he loved and tolerated them.
I must say, this guys probably took the most balls. The other ones did it in a kinda self aware joking sort of way, whereas here he was talking about himself and his love for the show.
Every time I see one of these speeches, I'm sad that I didn't think to record the speech I gave for my class on it. Oh well, maybe next semester I'll get a chance. But it's unlikely, since the only class I have next semester is a composition class. Doubt I'll have a speech in that class.
Also, major props to this guy for keeping his cool. When I say this I am 100% serious: If someone interrupted my speaking as frequently (or obnoxiously) as those brats were, I would have told them to shut the fuck up, and to hell with what my teacher thought, because it's hir job to deal with them, and I had to instead.
Goddamn, I have ADHD and even I don't click a pen that much! There are quieter ways to be bored. Sorry, could NOT listen to this presentation with that obnoxious clicking.
Why do I get the feeling that my classmates would react in exactly the same way as this guys classmates if I were to do a pony presentation? If I repeat English I will do a pony presentation (recorded of course)
Wow! From "No sex, please; we're British." to "Sex Ponies!". I guess upper lips aren't the only things that are stiff in Merry Olde England nowadays...
The presentation wasn't all that good, but we don't know what the topic of the presentation was supposed to be (if its comparing yourself to a TV show, which I suspect there's not much you can do with it) and the class really were out of line. Although they're obviously not university students and the reaction in the school I went to would be the same as this, if not worse...
Props to this brony. Kept it cool despite the haters. I'd be totally willing to make a presentation around MLP, but I'd have to test the waters first. Not sure how my classmates would react.
Well the presentation was pretty boring. He just went through the characters and listed their personalities. It wasn't particularly funny or thought provoking like the other speeches.
Still, I give the man credit for his courage and managing to keep his cool with that audience.
Doing a presentation is always good, but I don't like this one. It just wasn't... respectable. He didn't do a very good job of presenting himself, or us, as normal at all.
Dear Princess Celestia, Today I learned Australians and American college students are much more well behaved and mature than British ones. Your faithful student, Anonymous.
Wow. Those asshole moronic classmates of his make me want to murder something. Repeatedly.
Massive respect to this kid, because I definitely wouldn't have fared as well in the "love and tolerance" department. I'm pretty sure there would have been violence.
I don't even know what his speech was like. I couldn't hear him over ALL OF MY HATE.
Well done brony! Although the audience was obnoxious at least they were friendly, I have seen much worse and myself would have been glad to settle for such reception. Rather open amusement then hidden scorn!
While the presentation itself could have had a bit more depth to it beyond listing the characters and their traits, I have to give you props for how you delt with the crowd. I'd probably have screwed up quite badly if my audience got that bad.
NOTE TO FUTURE PRESENTERS: Make sure you know the audience you're performing for, and whether or not you can handle what they throw at you, like this guy.
Typical college setting... Surrounded by nerd-haters and harsh judgement no matter how kind, serious and considerate you may try to be, complete with a teacher who is too weak-willed and cowardly to put a stop to the lesser students who don't care about putting forth any effort to learn or pay attention...
When I do presentations for my college classes we sure as hell don't have all these obnoxious interrupting pen-clicking lil biatches. Cause I'd stop right in the middle of what I'm doing and stare them down. That's part of being a good speaker though, keeping control of the audience.

wait, am i first?
ReplyDeleteanyway, i always find these interestng
I want to listen, I really do. It's really hard to do so though, when there's some guy constantly clicking a pen in the background...

ReplyDeleteI like how he said "Guilty pleasure". The whole class thought he got off to ponies.
ReplyDelete"It's really hard to do so though, when there's some guy constantly clicking a pen in the background..."
ReplyDeleteOh Lord, I hate when people do this. Are people so scatterbrained that they don't realize how annoying this is? Or are they just that inconsiderate?
I don't know about the people in the video but I click pins with out even thinking about it
ReplyDeleteThe pen doens't annoy me nearly as much as the jackass interrupting him.
ReplyDeleteStuff like this makes me wish I were still in college so I could give presentations on ponies too. :D
ReplyDeleteThat wasn't a bad video, but the classmates in the background made it difficult to hear.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how they all go for the gay question at the end. People are so superficial.

There's a difference between having balls and stupidity. Comparing yourself to Ponies is on the stupid side of things.
ReplyDeleteThat said, its nice to know teachers are the same everywhere; ignoring the jerks in the class.
@Mistytail
ReplyDeleteBy the way I'm joking with the "too cute to be gay" statement, please don't take it seriously.
Well, I suppose the entire class now thinks he's a repressed homosexual manchild or something...

The guys in that class are real d-bags
ReplyDelete@Kirkwall
ReplyDeleteHe takes it very well though, major props for keeping his cool.
Have these guys never heard of the phrase "guilty pleasure" before? Seriously, what the fuck. Dude did a great job with the presentation and his classmates come across as raving fucking douchebags.
ReplyDeleteWhat country was that? UK? Australia?
ReplyDeleteHe keeped his cool well.
ReplyDeleteKudos to this guy for having balls and having a presentation about mlp
After seeing a few of the first presentations featured on EqD, the rest of them are getting very repetitive, silly, and low quality.
ReplyDeleteI can't tell if they're heckling the guy or if they just naturally sound like that.
ReplyDeleteI like the way he said laboratory. Also, hipster glasses.
ReplyDeleteI love these presentations! The only thing are the classmates in the video -_-
ReplyDeleteGotta love immature classes :/
ReplyDeleteThis is probably the most disrespectful audience for these presentations so far (To be fair his presentation wasn't particularly convincing).
ReplyDeleteStill, any of the classes I take would drop these students for being so disrespectful during a peer presentation.
I can't listen to this, those classmates are total wankers.
ReplyDeleteI cannot wait for school to start again so I can do my own pony presentation. Problem is, my classmates are even worse than these guys.

Brave brony.
ReplyDeleteWhere was FiM when I was a freshman taking public speaking?
ReplyDeleteI demand a redo.
That brony did as any brony should: love and tollerate! I can't believe the assholes in his class though...
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteDunno, most of the classes last quarter I was in had a strict no disturbance policy; if you disrupt class you leave.
Yeah, at my school they would have been kicked out of the class for interrupting constantly.
ReplyDeleteI'm a bit confused on why he used the shitty clipart Hasbro keeps using instead of pictures from the show.
ReplyDeleteThe lack of respect was kind of shocking to be honest; I've never seen a presentation interrupted before.
Well, this guy's class certainly ....participated more than some of the others. Ah well, he loved and tolerated them.
ReplyDeleteI must say, this guys probably took the most balls. The other ones did it in a kinda self aware joking sort of way, whereas here he was talking about himself and his love for the show.
I searched "Powerpoint Presentation" and searched for the most views.
ReplyDelete#4 was the MLP Physics presentation. Just Fuckin Awesome!
The other 3 was some presentation about youtube or something.
I would have been trolling that guy right along with them. He's not unique and he doesn't even know what inequity means... wtf.
ReplyDeleteThe people at my school are like this, too.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason I lol'd when the loudspeaker came on.
Every time I see one of these speeches, I'm sad that I didn't think to record the speech I gave for my class on it. Oh well, maybe next semester I'll get a chance. But it's unlikely, since the only class I have next semester is a composition class. Doubt I'll have a speech in that class.

@reynard61 That was in Australia. I got the impression that the person giving the speech had moved from Britain though.
ReplyDeleteAlso modern Britain falls down heavily when it comes to a lot of the old stereotypes.
Props to this brony. Kept it cool despite the haters. I'd be totally willing to make a presentation around MLP, but I'd have to test the waters first. Not sure how my classmates would react.

I Hate how they interrupted him every 5 seconds, also he did a great job tolerating that
ReplyDeleteDealing with a hostile/annoying-as-hell audience and keeping your cool is all part of being a decent speaker.
ReplyDeleteAt least his class helped him train for that portion of it.
It's great to be different. And also great show
ReplyDeleteDoing a presentation is always good, but I don't like this one. It just wasn't... respectable. He didn't do a very good job of presenting himself, or us, as normal at all.
ReplyDeleteDear Princess Celestia,
ReplyDeleteToday I learned Australians and American college students are much more well behaved and mature than British ones.
Your faithful student, Anonymous.
On the bright side, if he could take this, he could probably handle any sort of public speaking event.
ReplyDeleteProps, man. At the very least, it shows just how idiotic and stereotypical society has become.
THAT FUCKING PEN
ReplyDeleteWow. Those asshole moronic classmates of his make me want to murder something. Repeatedly.

Awesome job!
ReplyDeleteWay to love and tolerate the shit out of DBags!
MUST.... NOT.....BRAG.....
ReplyDeleteWell done brony! Although the audience was obnoxious at least they were friendly, I have seen much worse and myself would have been glad to settle for such reception. Rather open amusement then hidden scorn!
ReplyDeleteYour presentation skills need work but you have major balls to go in front of a class that you knew would laugh like a bunch of immature hyenas.
ReplyDeleteWhile the presentation itself could have had a bit more depth to it beyond listing the characters and their traits, I have to give you props for how you delt with the crowd. I'd probably have screwed up quite badly if my audience got that bad.
ReplyDeleteNOTE TO FUTURE PRESENTERS: Make sure you know the audience you're performing for, and whether or not you can handle what they throw at you, like this guy.
Those kids in that class need to shut up and let him give his presentation.
ReplyDeleteTypical college setting... Surrounded by nerd-haters and harsh judgement no matter how kind, serious and considerate you may try to be, complete with a teacher who is too weak-willed and cowardly to put a stop to the lesser students who don't care about putting forth any effort to learn or pay attention...
