Yesterday I posted Adult Swim's response to bronies, and it was generally negative.
Apparently it was just Adult Swim being Adult Swim though! Their forums are now ponified.
They have redeemed themselves in my book.

ReplyDeleteI knew it they will become Bronies in no time hehehehehe
ReplyDelete>anime
ReplyDeleteOh well.
I can't believe I was lame enough to do that... lol
ReplyDeleteAnyhow, this is pretty sweet. Next the world!
ONWARD MY BRONIES! LET'S FILL THEIR FORUMS WITH LOVE AND TOLERANCE!
ReplyDelete@AnonymousOH YEAH!
ReplyDeleteso... is this good or bad? I'm seeing here is this. Adult Swim hesitantly did this so we won't have to respond back to them and we'll leave them alone and they secretly don't like us now because of a complaint.
ReplyDeleteSoon...THE WORLD *Insane Fluttershy laugh*
ReplyDeleteAhem...AS is forgiven :)
This was already up when that bump aired, there's pony fans on their forums normally. It's kind of an overlapping demographic with anime/cartoon fans and FIM fans, and both skew fairly young.
ReplyDeleteCurrently, Adult Swim. Next stop, Newgrounds. We've already got Egoraptor, it's only a matter of time.
ReplyDeleteWe have egoraptor?????
ReplyDeleteYESYESYESYESYESYES
Hah, told ya so. Granted, I'm not at all surprised they're on board with MLP:FIM. Not only because Turner Broadcasting picked them up for broadcasting overseas, but because having a finger on the pulse of demo is their job, and these ponies confound everyone with their anomalous hold on young adults.
ReplyDeletelol I knew it
ReplyDeleteThat forum has been like that since, what, the end of May? (note the rapture joke, for instance) I'm not a regular over there, so I couldn't give you a firm date.
ReplyDelete@John Caveson
ReplyDeleteOh crap, you're right, we DO have egoraptor.... if he even makes so much as a small pony reference in one of his videos, it will be a major victory for Pony Internet Domination.
WHATS NEXT LETS TAKE EM ALL!
ReplyDeleteAwesome....that's all I have to say about this.
ReplyDeleteYou know guys, this was meant as a joke because Seth Green is a brony after all...
ReplyDeleteWho Cares? It's a hilarious occurence, regardless.
ReplyDeleteTalk about over-reacting XD
ReplyDeleteYou guys really need to lay down and relax. It's an awesome way to hug the spotlight :3
Global saturation is progressing nicely...
ReplyDeleteOnce we have the orbital friendship cannon online, it should progress much faster.
PONIES! PONIES! PONIES!
ReplyDeleteI figured as much. There is no way AS would actually hate on ponies.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteWait...are you serious?
OH MY GOD ROBOT CHICKEN FiM SKETCH MUST HAPPEN NOW. THERE'S NO WAY IT CAN'T.
Looks like Ponymania continues to run wild.....brother!
ReplyDeleteIs Seth Green actually a brony? I thought that was just a joke based on that one picture of him sitting next to that statue-thing of Pinkie Pie.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I still think everyone is taking that bump too seriously. It was probably a playful jab more than anything else.
As for this OA banner... I have no idea what to make of it. Is it just an ironic nod to bronies or wholesale endorsement or something else completely? I have no clue.
When CN puts FiM up on their line up I wonder how big of an impact it'll make on the communities.
ReplyDeleteOA stands for that section of their forums.
ReplyDeleteOA(Other Anime)
Plus that banner kind of references themselves too.

Pony is reaching critical mass.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDelete"This video is not available in your country."
I never understood what purpose that restriction possibly could have...
A FIM Robot Chicken spoof would be awesome. Wait, what if Seth based it on Cupcakes.
ReplyDeleteSoon we shall have bronies in congress.. Then we will rule the world!!
ReplyDeleteY'know, I knew Adult Swim wouldn't be straight up anti-brony.
ReplyDeleteThey were the ones that gave us "Rainbow Unicorn Attack" for heaven's sake! Online people with an obsession for colourful equine should be something they're used to.
"Redeemed themselves," Seth?
ReplyDeleteSurely you understand that Adult Swim pokes fun at just about everything in their bumps: current events, their viewers and mail, and sometimes their own people. Them poking fun at ponies ought to be no exception. In fact, all the more for us with them recognizing us bronies on TV. It's just a bit of tough love, that's all.
Besides, the fact that they have a pony banner for their forum should show that this is all in good clean fun. Well, somewhat clean, at least :D
This is why we, as a community, need to exercise restraint in our responses to criticism. This really was adult swim being themselves, they make fun of everybody. Yeah, we've been getting dumped on a bit lately with the fandom becoming public so some sesnitivy is expected, but a lot of people did forget that adult swim is friendly-mean to everyone. Nice that they made an apology like this, very classy of them.
ReplyDeleteMy reaction to this:
ReplyDelete(as well as Pinkie's hair re-inflating)
(as well as my realization that I was a brony...)

Bout a decade of watching [as] and I still fell for that bump. Shame on me.
ReplyDeleteFrom the wording of their bumps the past few years I had always assumed they were quite close to the heart of the internet.
Now there is proof. ...Actually, there's been proof, but nothing solid enough for me.
Also, calling ponies to be on the [as] weeknight lineup before season 2 airs on The Hub. Because they can...
well... actually, can they?
Somehow I didn't think AS was being serious.
ReplyDeleteI mean, they're the same people that came up with Robot Unicorn Attack.
Haha, I bet all you quick-to-judgers calling Adult Swim immature and unfunny are feeling pretty bad about now, eh?
ReplyDeleteWow, best link I've clicked all day. I laughed like crazy looking over that page. Check out the thread "Congrats Bronies, You Scared the Crap out of [as]", if you haven't already. "Rapture averted, yet the Aponyclypse continues..." LOL!
ReplyDeleteIt still is unfunny Anonymous, but now they are unfunny bronies...
ReplyDeleteI'm one of the few bronies who saw this whole thing as a fun joke on AS's part. I'm kinda disappointed by how defensive the community got because of this. I think this is a lesson in laughing at yourself and avoiding taking yourself too seriously. Anyway, it's cool to be getting this kind of recognition from such a big name.
ReplyDelete@crazyredemu
ReplyDeleteBro you're making it real hard to love and tolerate you :D
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteI also thought it was a joke, but I think the reason people here got so defensive was because, well, we're not exactly being viewed very fairly by the media.
As I posted earlier, these are the same people that came up with Robot Unicorn Attack.
But FIM is not an anime...
ReplyDeleteI always loved [AS] and now I love them even more. I knew they were joking! :D
ReplyDelete*puts away the torches and pitchforks*
@John Caveson
ReplyDeleteWe have Egoraptor? Sweet.
YESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYES!
ReplyDeleteNo one but 10 year olds watch Adult Swim anyway.
ReplyDeleteRead the thread. They like it!
ReplyDeleteWe're converting EVERYONE!
Did not care before; do not care now.
ReplyDelete@BillyBatman
ReplyDeleteThis.
Meh...
ReplyDeleteSlapping people with one hand, for a moment, and then switching and acting ''good'' ?
...meh.
If people didn't ever make fun of what I do, I'd start getting worried about being too normal :P
ReplyDeleteBut I was thinking: If Adult Swim outright did a show that made fun of ponies in the same way that "The Venture Brothers" parodied "Johnny Quest" it would be AWESOME.
@John Caveson
ReplyDeleteWait, Egoraptor is a brony?!? Explain this information!
Can't wait for G4 Robotchicken skit!
ReplyDelete@BillyBatman
ReplyDeleteThat's good...assemble them while they're young!
They're still not redeemed from having bad taste. They seriously need some new material.
ReplyDeleteRobot Chicken lost its touch. I mean, honestly I havent at any of their new episodes. Chances are all it'll be is a stab at "I watch it for the plot." This is my opinion of course, so don't go all "But that show is friggin hilarious!!" on me or whatever.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure they did it to make fun of the fact Seth Green wanted the show on Adult Swim.
ReplyDeleteOh Williams Street, you so silly.
