• 3D Pony Models All Over the Place!

    Remember that Derpy Hooves cosplayer from a while back?  Well apparently she doesn't just make an awesome humanized Derpy; she is also a really good 3D modeler!

    Now I'm not too experienced with 3D renders of any kind, but with all of these awesome models popping up all over the place lately, why have we not annexed Shapeways.com for the great Lunar Republic already?

      Hey, I remember back when that was first posted. Back when new episodes came out every week... them's the days.

      I also remember my eyes burning from seeing that cosplayer. No offense to anypony of course, it's just... 3DPD.

      And I mean that in the nicest way possible.

      I don't get why all 3D ponies have shading applied to them.

      They look worse with depth, IMO.

      Otherwise, these are fantastic.

      I disagree, I think these are by far the best models I've seen of the ponies. The shading isn't overdone nor is it underdone.

      I saw her once at Sakura-con Seattle in April. I still kick myself for only snapping two pictures! These 3D models are great!

      The really awesome part of these pics is how closely the 3D models resemble their 2D counterparts. It's uncanny!

      Usually 3D models look terrible from certain angles, ecpessialy pony models, but these are fantastic!

      These look amazing. I've done 3d modeling myself and I hated it. A tiny little thing could ruin the whole thing. Great job with staying with it to model the mane cast.
