Pride (a writer who does a lot of the live readings that pop up around here/ponychan) is starting up a podcast specifically for fanfiction.
He currently has a beta episode out if you guys are interested in checking it out over on his Ponychan thread!
Also in other voice-acting news, the Storybook Project for Equinox has lost its primarily female voiceover. If anyone is interested in playing Luna for a day, feel free to hop over to the thread and post!

ReplyDeleteInteresting...
Parts, Quotes, and opinions from the podcast that I really enjoyed.
ReplyDelete--The Welcoming Nature of the Fandom
--"I'll get you next time Gadget"
--Commenting when you read something
--"I don't expect to be coherent at this point and time"
-- "You might have noticed I really like words that start with A and describe something as being incredibly bad."
--"There is no one, single, best way to write anything"
--"For the love of Celestia, do that"
--The ying/yang of writing/reading
--"Whether they were LYING or not is a completely different story"
--"With the same kind of enthusiasm that a man approaches the electric chair"
Also, you have a wonderful radio voice.
*Sigh* If only there were more open parts for men....
ReplyDeleteOh my.
ReplyDeleteNot too long ago, I would fantasize about this. This here. This thing. This very thing. A podcast dedicated to ponyfic. I knew the odds of it happening were roughly a thousand to one; but that did not stop me from dreaming.
But... what's this? Here it is, and it's wonderful, and the host's voice is heavenly, and along with having a razor-sharp sense of humor he utterly understands the mad bad craziness that comes with being a writer. There was not a single point I did not agree with. (And rest assured, Pride, you are not alone.) Also, this ended up being a surprisingly substance-filled podcast for being only thirty minutes.
So many smiles. Nothing but smiles. ^_^
I gotta say, I'm a HUGE fan of Pride, primarily because his fic Arddun Lleuad. He also sounds like a really nice and fun guy. Can't wait to listen to his podcast!
ReplyDeleteI fully support this effort, Pride. Keep at it.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely loved this podcast. A bunch of great points and hilarious to listen to. Everyone should give it a listen.
ReplyDeleteOh my god, this fandom. This fandom is insane. I love you bronies so much, I don't even. I've never seen a podcast for any other fandom just to discuss fics. And not until now I realize that I always kinda wanted a fanfic community so nice and tight like this one, and it's really encouraging for a writer like me that's getting back in the wrong of writing fanfiction again.
ReplyDeletePride is so full of love for the writefriends. It pours out of the speakers, trickles in your ears and into your heart. ^_^
Wonderful job noting editing too, Pride. Setting up some sort of Brony Beta-reader program that exchanges editing services is an awesome idea. Somepony get on that. Right now.
wonderful job, and hope you keep this podcast going! 30minutes went by and I want more! Good Job Pride!
ReplyDelete@patchycoyote
ReplyDeleteWut he said...
Haha! Excellent! I was actually saddened when 30 minutes came to an end!
ReplyDeleteThe hilarious commentary and references, the absolutely FANTASTIC tips and tricks he points out, and the accent that reminds me of Wheatly makes it an epic podcast of epic destiny. I eagerly await the second episode ;D
ReplyDeleteWhen he was going off about space, all I could think about was the space core, but he didnt reference Portal at all. That is the only flaw ;)
And now I want to continue writing my pile of unfinished crap, go figure. To the word processor!
I'm a brony who has been thinking about writing a fanfic for a long time (which previously I would have never ever, EVER thought of doing) and I gotta say that this podcast is really encouraging.
ReplyDeletePride, if you're reading this, thanks man. Knowing how kind and constructive the brony writefriend community is really makes me feel brave enough to get those creative juices flowing. Please make more eps of this too! I'd love to hear other strategies that maybe other authors use.
"BAM! Right into the action!"
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying this. X3 Still haven't tried writing a fic, but maybe I should.
I still get really uncomfortable with these sites ending in chan, though. :x
Shiny!
ReplyDeleteToo much poni is never enough!
