Another community project is starting up! The goal of this one is to create a huge comic book compiled from various authors/writers throughout the fandom. It might be pretty cool! The requirements are a bit more strict than most of the other projects going on, but hopefully that means we get some quality content in the end!

I'd love to contribute to this... unfortunatly I'm not that happy with my 'short-comic"writing skills. Im good with the art but I've always found it tough to come up with a short enough story..

If anything, i think i'd have to find a teammate brony for this!!

ooh! I have the perfect story! but I can't draw for crap. is there any easy way to pitch to an artist?
ReplyDeleteConfused since I saw this yesterday. Would like "Standard A4" format clarified and I'm sure others would too. I've been doing print comic books for...longer than I'd care to admit here. I usually work in 10 X 15, 300 dpi. I'm guessing that it's just a web format size thing. Eh, probably a good thing I'm confused, since I've actually got paying work I need to be doing right now instead of hanging around the pony corral, as it were...

ReplyDeleteIf they're a pony artist, they'd probably be willing to team up without much persuading, especially for something like this that can only mean more publicity.
so if i wanna write something involving an OC pony... is it okay if I use them as a one-time character that plays a role in the "moral" of the story? Like Gilda, Trixie, Braeburn, Strongheart, and all those other characters were? (He) would be a pretty big part of the story, though the focus would be mostly on mane cast, especially twilight and rainbow dash.

ReplyDeleteI'm just a week away from finishing my creative writing degree. How perfect! Now if only my art was a tad better, especially when organising comic book layout... unless somepony's willing to do that side for me?
ReplyDeleteNo OC ponies? Thats a huge disappointment. Part of the charm of these kinds of supposed anthologies lie in the fact of expanding a world view, in this case. equestria. Nothing expands and broadens a scope more than by exploring side themes. different characters, and different situations.

Still awesome, although that 10 page limit means there will be no long epic stories there. Guess I won't be able to contribute then, I love long epic stories

I Know thats a decision that wont please everyone, but i'd rather keep it centred on the actual cast of the show for a start, even if only the fanon ones. You still can expand the the universe starting for these characters what can include OCs, like lets say Rarity's parents. However OC centered stories usually dont end very cuz even if some writers can actually manage to make they seen interesting and fit in the universe perfectly, most of the times this dont end so well.

After popular demand, the page limit was expanded to 25 pages, but even then keep in mind this isn't a golden rule, its more of a guide line, and its open to exceptions.
Woot! I would like to be a part of this, but I'm only a writer! My art is, er, barely passable, and only at a kindergarten level. ;)
