    1. And I was just thinking of some 'Steamboat Pony' all last week...
What did you do with my rainbow tinfoil hat, Trollestia!?

    2. Ohhhhmygoodness, I love it. Totally makes sense although I wasn't quite expecting such a neat wrap-up where nothing changed between them.

    3. The only thing keeping this from being perfect is revealing that Pinkie Pie KNOWS that she's in a new cartoon and purposely NOT telling her friends.

    4. @Homfrog

I like to think that ponies are bigger people than let a little dimension hopping and physic-bending get in the way of friendship.

    5. I'm speechless.
This all sparked from a single comment that most of us would just brush by? Wow. I love this.

      There's a reason I call myself "Batty".

      I'm wildly eccentric!

    7. This was amazing, plain and simple. I've often thought of Pinkie Pie knowing about the 4th wall and breaking it on purpose, but this was better realised than I ever came up with, especially on the backstory.

      Well done.

    8. This was, all at once, hilarious, tearjerking, and the most existentially terrifying fic I've ever read on this site.

My brain is a vast universe of fuck. And I LOVE IT.

Billions and billions of fuck-stars with their own solar-fuck systems and fuck-planets.

      A most excellent read, indeed.

    10. Haha that's awesome.

And I remember that quote too. :D

    11. What about Roger Rabbitism the ability to enter and exit the cartoon world via easily accessible tunnel? Plus cartoons old and new could all exist within the same space. The old looney tunes characters still exist, but they just went elsewhere and Pinkie was just moving all over the place watching worlds being built. It's funny that she doesn't mention Mickey or how he changed over time, maybe she could talk about Oswald the rabbit too.(Epic mickey crossover please! An old friend needs a cartoon ponies help in restoring a destroyed world.)

I heard they were revamping looney tune again, it could either be bad or good only time will tell.

    12. I second this anonymous that said it, we need an Epic Pinkie crossover type of deal. Then Pinkie can invite the ponies to her world, but they can't do cartoon physics like she can.

    13. I'm going to be blunt and say that while I got about five other fics in the process, I'm sadly not up to the task of an Epic Pinkie crossover, as much as that idea sounds awesome.

When I came up with this fic, the basic idea was that Pinkie Pie only lived in a universe populated by Loony Tunes characters, being "one" herself. That's why all the new shows made the last twenty years changed everything so drastically.

I haven't seen Loonatics for myself and honestly have little to no interest in this new cartoon but those would be necessary to make another story.

That's being said, if anyone can think through those problems and make an unofficial sequel, go ahead! I'm sure it'll be good!

Thanks for all the kind words, everybody! I know tried to put effort into this but I didn't think it would be so well-received!

Very good sir, and now you've terrified (and intrigues) me of the possibility of a human ending in that "Dimension" I mean, by that logic we humans could have seeded Hundreds of dimensions with or animated endeavors, Lot to have fun thinking about, thanks!

    15. Writing-wise, this fell flat due to the fact that it was (other than the lovely opening) just a Pinkie monologue that happened to be towards the other ponies. No real sense of action or tension, just the unfolding of an idea that happened to be through a character's mouth.

I will say, however, that Pinkie Pie's uniqueness did shine throughout most of the monologue, so it isn't all bad.

Concept-wise? Solid gold, which is why I rated this 4/5.

Point and click adventure as old as dirt, but it does give you an idea of what could happen to a human in a cartoon world.

    18. I honestly love this! Being a big fan of Golden Age Animation myself, I totally think this is a million times better and more interesting than the origin story the show gave us. This should totally be canon! Of course, they'd have to get the rights of Warner Bros. in order to do that and that would get complicated...

Either way, this is great. Totally makes sense with Pinkie Pie's off-the-wall antics, and even if others don't consider this canon, it's canon to me.

      ReplyDelete
    19. What if both of Pinkie's stories were true, she made the story of having parents and a rock farm so it has to be as true as her story of being a cartoon character. She thought her own parents into existence.

      ReplyDelete
    20. But I liked LU, also they were not the Loony Tunes they were decedents of the Loony Tunes.

    21. Great work. Every underappriciated cartoon character deserves the fate of party pony.

      ReplyDelete
    22. @lockendSorry, it's not the trope namer. Not sure what is, though.

Loved the story. Hated being linked to tvtropes when I have other things to do. Nicely done.

    23. Like I said before in the chat room, "Bailey", you have a treasure chest full of wonderful opportunities right in front of you! Find the key to unlocking that chest and you could be extremely rich.

And I know you are SUPER busy with work and all, so if you need a helping hand, the community would be glad to help! We know not everypony has the time to plan and write out their ideas, so just ask, and we will do!

      - Bongo (Brickstarrunner)

PS: How big did the list of ideas grow? Last time I rememer from the chat, it was around 5 or 6.

    24. WOW, this fic is awesome, it needs a secuel

    25. @Anonymous

Then I think you'll be happy to know that I already have two sequels planned! I just need to wait until after I get some real life stuff done first.

      ReplyDelete
    26. Kind of interesting, but I prefer the Opener of Ways origin for Pinkie.

      ReplyDelete
    27. Batty, I can't await the sequels! This was one of the most amazing, funny, hilarious, [insert some more words here] stories I ever read! Keep up the good work!

      ReplyDelete
    28. Possibly I'm grumpy today, but this story just went on and on. It's one big monologue and I got bored.

      ReplyDelete
    29. This makes so much sense. Like, totally. One thing that interests me: does this mean Equestria is two dimensional, or that cartoons are really in 3d?

      ReplyDelete
    30. @Anonymous

I find that typically most cartoons are in fact 3D (i.e. the use of perspective, different angles, foreshortening and vanishing lines, etc.) but they *look* 2D to us.

Don't worry, your head hurting upon reflecting on this is perfectly normal.

      Flawless Victory.
      Pinkie for the win xD

    32. M only question is this, does she know she's in a new cartoon, or does she think the 'rule of funny' compulsions are just leftover traits?

      ReplyDelete
    33. @kriss1989

Actually, this fic was written with the assumption that she really isn't in a cartoon anymore, so all of her abilities really are left overs.

In other words, she's a cartoon character in a real universe...that just happens to have ponies and magic.

      ReplyDelete
    34. @Batty Gloom Ah, got it, thanks. That clears up a lot of stuff. So she feels left over compulsions that have no reason to exist, but still do. Thanks for clearing that up.

      ReplyDelete
    35. I've read the comments, but I'm convinced that even within the context of the fic, Pinkie's just ended up in a new cartoon: but hasn't realized it yet.

      ReplyDelete
    36. @Batty Gloom

Could I write a sequel to this?

      ReplyDelete
    37. If Pinlie was a WB cartoon, and she left around 2005.
So that means she got to hang around with the 90's cartoons.
I would love to see Pinkie telling stories about adventures with the Freakazoid, parties with the Tiny toons, pranks with yakko, wakko and dot, and maybe even "helping" Brain to conqer the world.
      Please!!!

      ReplyDelete
    38. @yakkowarner117

Please don't; while it's on the back burner, I actually have both a prequel and a sequel in the works. I just need the time to type it out and research old cartoons.

      ReplyDelete
    39. Not only does this make an amazing amount of sense, but I can easily see it working unmodified as an animated story.

I disagree with those who complained about the monologue. I saw it as Pinkie narrating clips from the cartoon worlds she'd been in before.

I found the hyperlinks to TV Tropes rather funny, to be honest. Just seeing which words had been turned into links was enough for me to guess where they went.

For a moment, I was wondering why Twilight wasn't familiar with the tropes, given she strikes me as the most likely troper among the mane cast, then I remembered that Equestria is at least 50 years behind us in terms of technology.

    40. @Batty Gloom
I really liked this, for one reason in-particular. I don't know if you intended it this way, but the slight critique of the direction of cartoons over the years (the new "looney toons" blows) combined with pinkie being an actual cartoon character from an actual and really good cartoon, made for a weirdly inspired sort of nod at what (at least what I think) cartoons should really do for the viewers.

Anyone else miss Animainiacs (spelled wrong, sue me), or Ed, Edd, and Eddy, the original Looney Toons, (I miss Will E. and Road Runner) that were just simple and weird and entertaining?
I'm probably reading waaay to deep into it, but for some reason that quote at the end of the story drove home a weird meaning for me, and tied up the story perfectly.
      Good job.

      ReplyDelete
    41. That was brilliantly well done. Wonderful work, good sir!

      ReplyDelete
    42. You forgot the point when they made her into a mouse that "helped" the brain take over the world lol. Though, like anonymous said, I would LOVE to see Pinkie and Freakazoid team up! Whatever remained of the 4th wall would be dust!

      ReplyDelete
    43. The Looney Tunes idea is pretty good, but the explanation of how Pinkie managed to warp in can be improved. I think such a bizzare idea ended up getting very thorny and difficult to round up. The story doesn't really fit well.

I don't really like how its all recall through dialouge. That's a terrible way to tell the story. If you wanna recount like that why not make a scene break and then tell the recounted bits as if it's actually happening. I saw this in another fic and i thought it turned out to be excellent.

Something like this: Pinkie began to tell her story, "Well, it all started off when i woke up feeling a little dizzy..."

      --------------(scene break)-------------

Pinkie Pie woke up from bed, feeling a little dizzy...

      ReplyDelete
    44. forgot to add in:

Some scene description would be nice too. Like, weave it into the story or something.

I'd also prefer more written on the thoughts of the character. I mean... this is a big thing right? It's shocking, amazing, whatever... Write a bit on how uncertain Pinkie was feeling. Was she feeling scared? How scared? Surely there should be a lot of emotions coming up.

      ReplyDelete
    45. I always figured she was just a pony who happened to take night courses at Acme Loo.

How? Perhaps she commutes through Wackyland. That would explain the slipping sanity.
