Iamnotacleverpony is hosting a Remix War for all the musicians out there, and I will be posting all the entries here on Equestria Daily once everything is said and done!
Here is the general premise:
Take a remix made by another brony, and add your own "improvements" to it! It can be anything created by any other brony, be it Eurobeat brony, 8 bit brony, or even Iamnotacleverpony himself. (all found in the archive under their respective categories that no one knows exists!) The primary goal here is practice, so feel free to have fun with it.
For a full overview of all rules, including where to send these remixes (note: don't send them to me!), check out the google document found below!

I wish I knew how to remix =(
VastaKustutaBut hey! This is a great opportunity to make my music folder even bigger then it already is! I'm looking forward to see what you guys come up with =)
Good Luck!
does it matter what we use to remix?
VastaKustutalike i think most people would be using logic, but since i dont have a Mac, i use ableton
@Naxts
VastaKustutaits never too late to learn dude, if you have a Mac, look at getting Logic
if not, look into getting Pro tools, Cubase or ableton (or all of them)
and just learn from there, i learned from my firiends and the internet
Do the songs have to remix another artists work or can they be original and inspired by MLP? Because I was thinking of working off an idea i had never finished for a song.
VastaKustutaYou know, this remix war would be 20% cooler if someone actually did a Pogo-style remix of one of the songs.
VastaKustutaoh hey, since you mentioned a remix remix contest...
VastaKustutasomeone asked me for a stem pack for "apple skytree", so that exists.

Just tossing that out there. ;)
Oh yeah, definitely getting in on this
VastaKustuta"like i think most people would be using logic, but since i dont have a Mac, i use ableton"
Actually from what I've seen, FL is the most commonly used software among youtube musicians (I myself use Pro Tools)
@Anonymous
VastaKustutaI have a PC. So, what are my options. I wanna remix! =0
And then maybe become popular!
@Anonymous It doesn't matter what you use to remix, Fell free to use any software that you feel comfortable with.
VastaKustuta@Anonymous:
The theme of this event is a remix war, remixing another brony's remix. However, the song of their's that you remix can be one of their original works.
Naxts: You have just as many options as a Mac user, minus Garage band.
I'd suggest Cubase5 (I use that myself); there's also Logic, Pro Tools, Ableton Live (imanotacleverpony's choice), Reason, and FLstudio. There are many others also, I probably missed a lot.
Hope that answers your questions! :)
Trust me, you're better off without Garage Band anyway, only reason anyone uses it is it's free with a Mac (most people with Macs upgrade to Logic anyways).
VastaKustutaThere's plenty of free programs out there to work with that can create passable music (Psycle, modPlug, etc. etc.) but of course you're going to get better sounds with a DAW like FL or Cubase - most of these have free trials which aren't too limiting (FL is unlimited usage but you can't save sessions (but you can export) so if you do the MIDI yourself and then import it into FL then you can create music that way, I know a lot of people who use said method until they buy it or another DAW)
cool, cant wait to see what they come out with.
VastaKustutaMy first attempt to "remix" a song, or at least verge two together, I used IMovie with the audio, should I convert to Garageband?
VastaKustutaAnyone can reply. <:)

VastaKustutatbh, it might be better to completely skip the garage band thing and go straight to Logic Pro. but thats just my opinion. But yes, start using Garage band or Logic
