• Music: 8 bit Battle Music

These are way cool! Though is this 8bit?  Sounds more like Chiptune.  I still get them all mixed up!

    1. Wow... these are really good. Definitely inspire an RPG battle thought but keeping the melodies.

      Very well done.

    2. CMC song reminds me of those old Toa Plan games that rocked the arcades, Genesis, and SNES back in the day.

Twin Cobra is one of my favourite Toa Plan games

    3. this would be the part where we get twilight yes's :3

now we need a victory/fail BGM and we're good for an rpg

    4. I cried at the CMC one.

Though I think that might be more because I used to make things and call them "Battle Music" and then be ashamed of it later, than because of them just being cool. They ARE cool though.

    7. At first I was like, "No way, bro."
BUT THEN, I liked all of them!

    8. When in doubt, 8-bit is just a more specific type of chiptune music. It can be referencing either simply the sounds used when tracking (the 'pseudo-8-bit' that I like to create) or even further when the tracking is restricted to the 4-channel limitations of the early consoles.

I'm too tired to really pick these apart, but they sound true 8-bit to me~ Still, if you want to put these in a sub-category of music on the site, it would probably be easier to throw them all in "Chiptune."

    9. Not only that, but they're really kickass 8-bit tracks too! I'm thoroughly impressed with the remixes.

    10. CMC theme gives me some serious 'Tales of' vibes.

      They're all ridiculously good nonetheless!

    11. Main theme was original. Fluttershy's reminded me of Castlevania's boss theme. CMC's brought back my memories of final fantasy and megaman. Good Job Bro.

No clue in heck why, but of all the awesome songs here... I had the EXACT same reaction to the cmc one

    13. That's Chiptune, I guess. They sound pretty much alike.

    14. I love this INSTANTLY.
As for the 8-bit/chiptune thing, they don't seem restricted to only 8-bit sounds, so I guess chiptune would be more appropriate. At least, for the first one...

    16. OMG that was epic now it needs that someone makes an RPG and it will be 20% cooler!

    17. Help me, I can't stop listening to the first one

      VastaKustuta
    18. Those MLP RPGs should use this music.

    19. The last one sounds more like battle music than the others. The first two just sound like megaman level music.

    20. Hello. I made these, and just wanted to confirm they aren't 100% absolute 8-bit (There is a tiny echo/delay filter that makes things sound fuller) but other than that, 8 bit as far as I know.

The NES was capable of something like 3 programmable triangle/square/sine/whatever channels and 1 noise channel? and all of these songs don't have polyphony of more than 4 notes at a time, so I imagine they could be played on an NES, but instead of an external delay filter being applied you'd just program each song to process the delay of the previous note after its key released.

    21. Every one of these feels like a Megaman song.

Man I can't believe someone found my old Muzie page. Even I didn't remember where it was.

    24. I say that I go for Fluttershy's Battle Theme! This battle theme is epic! I wish there was a symphonic rock version of it!
