When I saw this was a guy who left the other abridged team I was worried this would just be some half-flank video to piss them off. Much to my surprise this was really funny, and it does sadden me that the other series has so many internal problems since I felt it had great potential.
I thought it was pretty funny for a first try. I guess the only suggestion would be to think of metter personalities to give the ponies in an an abridged version.
Hm... It wasn't laugh out loud hilarious in my opinion, that belongs to the Sonic F team's Camaraderie is Supernatural effort... But this one did make me smile, and considering that the creator did all of this by himself with no prior experience, it turned out pretty good. So not bad, and I look forward to seeing how he improves.
The only problem (other than one dude doing all the voices) is that sometimes the music gets too loud and drowns out the dialog. Did anyone else have that problem, or was it just my speakers being crappy?
That was funny. Would of been more enjoyable had there been more then one voice actor to make the characters dialog stand out more, but he did a good job regardless.
Try giving Rarity and Dash a different tone of voice, because them and twilight sound pretty much the same. Also add some sound effects in there, even the cheapest ones make a difference.
wow, this turned out much better than expected. points to improve on would be better distinction between voices and being careful not to let the music drown out the dialogue. loved it anyway, i must say.
Why be skeptical since it was just one person? Yugioh Abridged started off with just one guy, and it defined the genre. Okay, so the vast majority of Abridged series suck... let alone those made by a single person... You know what, never mind.
The voices could use more oomph. They're funny (and very well synced), but they often sound flat, as if you're not fully committed to the characters and lines you wrote.
Don't mean to be a grumpy pony, but I found that the voice acting seriously lacked commitment. I'm somewhat surprised this is getting such a good reception. It's about on par with most of the other attempts at Abridging MLP I've seen, which means somewhat lackluster.
Liked it a lot, especially the take on Pinkie. Irish spike made me wut. Honestly, it seemed about as well produced as the "official" FiM Abridged series (which is to say not particularly well; I'd get some dynamic range reduction going on the dialog to even out the levels), but the writer is clearly a funny guy and the humour comes through.
My favorite part was Dash's excellently timed "What about those tickets? Yes, *myah*! Oh man... I still want those."
Voices need some improvements, plus I think Editing can be improved as well. We don't need every single shot (like for example when Angel stole the tickets, it didn't add anything so It wasn't necessary and could have been cut.) And you also don't have to follow the main plot of the episode. Use the footage and try writing your own story of of it if you can.
It was funnier than the other one. Voice acting needs some work (Dash was great though) but it all comes down to the script, and the other Abridged series just didn't make me laugh.
Hehehe... Unicorns WOULD think they're the superior ponies, wouldn't they? Honestly, stick something on people's heads and they think they're friggin' kings.
Very funny, and while the voices DO need some more definition, I found it all to fit within the same sort of surreal nature that I found in that opening.
This is well written and voiced really well, despite just being one guy. I didn't always hear that Pinkie said though. Someone should make subtitles for it.
The "sparse" style worked rather well, IMO. For an obvious one-man-shop setup, less appears to be more.
Of the things which could use improvement, same-characters' changings accents and same-characters' voices overlapping in a few spots could be fixed; the crazy laughter at the very beginning was off-putting as well, making the first impression a poor one.
Okay bronies, I hope you guys won't call me out for being biased in this comment just because I'm a member of the Abridged team that supposed was so terrible. This my frank opinion as a parody-maker, voice actor, and overall person.
I'm surprised that no one has had the balls to bring up the big elephant in the room (or at least what I think is). When we get down the core, this isn't an abridged series-- it's a personal attack. I don't know if ANY of you read the blurb at the end but it was completely out of spite.
I'm overall disgusted at the fact that in THIS fandom he chose to do this. Do we even remember the show that we're watching? Does My Little Pony: FRIENDSHIP is Magic ring a bell? The key word is friendship and the key IDEA behind the entire series is to show kindness, honesty, loyalty, generosity, and laughter even when times get tough or we're in conflict.
That idea was completely lost and maybe I would have found this funny if I wasn't so hung up on that.
^^ U mad bro?. (Habit, sorry) I think that he didn't mean for the episode to be an attack against the other abridged series. I think he just thought he could do it better. And so he did.
Oh, and to FlimFlamPhilosopher -- Bacon. Now that I have your only emotion's attention I have some constructive criticism. Overall, your jokes were rather hilarious. I loved how you (Note the importance of this) parodied the show's character's and plot. The joke and the parody trump all else in Abridged Series. Now, having said that. I believe that the sound quality could definitely been better. The music was consistently loud (Dynamicism in music is a must) and the voice acting needs to be a bit more distinct for each character (That will come naturally with time though) Overall, I must applaud you though, and I hope that this will inspire (Note: not destroy) other Abridged Series, and make preexisting ones better. I don't know what this crap about only one true pony Abridged Series is allowed is about. (Idk how to better word that sentence so think about it for a second. No, seriously go back and think about it. Good. Now, after thinking about it does it make any sense? No, not the sentence. Of course that doesn't make any sense. I was talking about the idea of one pony Abridged Series. Is there only one pony musician? No. Eurobeat Brony may have started the fad, but others were inspired by him, he didn't shut down the genre.)
tldr; U mad bro? Bacon. Jokes and parody. Sound quality. Inspiring speech that will change the way everypony thinks about Abridged Series. (Seriously, go read it.)
New episode show great improvements in both sound and editing, as well as a good effort to create more distinguishable voices for the ponies, I especially appreciated the change in Fluttershy's voice. Overall I feel that this series is really starting to come together, although I did feel it was paced a little slow, but I'll chalk it up to editing inexperience.
I like it, keep up the good work, i say the more parodies the better, we gotta get through this 3-5 month drought somehow and @Conner Skye, doesn't the show involve sharing? share the spotlight and just enjoy it for what it is: entertainment
Well if it WAS a "personal attack", at least it was way funnier than your "abridged series episode".
Every fan project has haters, and good creators will take the high road. You guys seem to keep taking the Whiny Road or the Douchebag Road, so it's hard for anyone to want to side with you or see your project succeed.
You're holding out because I'm a filthy earth pony when it's you who is filthy! You who is filthy! Hehe I don't know why but I like that whole exchange.
Pinkie Pie is starting to really scare me. Also, poor Gilda. I know she was a bitch, but this version of the mane cast is a lot more terrifying, so it's pretty justified.
This is the first time I noticed Rainbow Dash's eyebrow motion at the beginning of Ep. 3. It fit so well, I went back to check whether it was in the original video.
To be honest, these aren't funny, at all. It seems like something hilarious to do with your friend when you're all drunk on a Tuesday night, but to watch is kind of unbearable. Maybe it's the voices that annoy me, or I don't know, but this seems like lackluster, boring work.
I did not like the second episode as much as the first, but this new third episode is pretty good! I like how he jumps around and makes his own story. Pinkie Pie is great!
I actually really like the way the voices are. I think it makes it even more funny.
And I don't see why people should fight over which one is best. Just like the one you like. I personally like this series the best and the SonicF one-shot episode second best. The other one will probably be better in the second episode because they seem to be taking things into account.
For those mentioning they aren't totally into the videos, could you put your finger on why? I'm basically going from zero to sixty with this series, and I'm always on the prowl for ways to improve. Technical recommendations are the most well-appreciated, but all criticism is useful. I do read all the comments and make mental notes of good ideas.
As for a dueling abridged series? Conflict is good for me! I was hoping that being called out might make FimAbridged get motivated and organized enough to compete, but the end of this week will mark about a month of virtual radio silence from that group thus far. I've noticed a few blips on the radar, but they DID seem to have some kind of a personal issue with being at an abridging war.
Me? I think it's a good thing. I mean, you guys want to see numerous rapid-fire abridged episodes and songs put out one after another - I know I do. It's all good sport and entertainment. Not to mention there's no way of getting better at something than to try to beat someone else at the game.
@FimFlamFilosopher The main issue I have is that the music, while quality, buries your voice acting sometimes and it really detracts from the videos. Aside from that, I'm a fan.
@FimFlamFilosopher As has already been said multiple times, the music is my major issue. It drowns out your voice from time to time and gets quite distracting. Just lower the volume of the music and you're golden.
Anyway, GREAT abridged series, Pinkie Pie is hilarious, and I'm looking forward to more.
Having looked at the group effort MLP:FiM abridged, I gotta say, this one's better. This made me actually laugh out loud, which the other one didn't.
The group effort really missed out when they got rid of you, and they should have kept your scripts.
Also, I actually think it's good that you skipped the pilot episodes, since I doubt it's possible to do the same level of story rearranging that you've done with these ones.
i for one loved this fourth one. deep voice trixie, foriegn snips and snails, twilights parts with spike. i actually laughed aloud. you should be proud of yourself bro, you're doing good work.
Liked One, Liked most of three, didn't like 2 because I've never found drunk people funny, didn't finish 4, Trixie as BAtman mocking actors did nothing for me- this might have to do with my dislike of Bale's gruff Batman voice.
It is funny, and has some very good lines, but overall it's just... too cynical. They come off less as caricatures, and more as contempt. You mentioned Puma Man in one of the end text which, don't get me wrong, is a very poor film. But what makes the MST3K riffing so funny is that the affection they have for bad movies and all that that entails- humor never really works when it comes from bitterness, and while I doubt you hate MLP, this feels to me as too bitter. Even in an Abridged Series, you have to have someone to root for, and no matter how funny the jokes were, I don't like any of these characters you have presented. They're all selfish pricks.
@anon 7:55 AM You ought to send Sethisto an e-mail and just have him set you up on the site. I thought that was not a bad job. If I had a recommendation, though, I'd suggest a little more enthusiasm in the voices, although Fluttershy is fine. Cute too, in fact. She slid almost four feet!
@Abrocen Landmearca I find it's usually not much use to compare myself to MST3k, Little Kuribo, or anyone else. There isn't really a formula for comedy, so it comes down to the creativity of whoever has at it. LK and MST3k were working with gold to start with, but My Little Pony is a different kind of precious metal. Some people said it couldn't be abridged, but that's just not true when the characters are so lively and vivid.
We may see more parodies come out of the woodwork yet. I don't think FiMAbridged is going to put up much of a fight at this point because they're crippled by the politics of insecurity. It's veiled in "friendship," but it boils down to whether certain members of the cast feel "appreciated" and "accepted" at all times, and when a group's leadership is weak so is the group. They definitely have talent among them, but if all their resources go towards making everyone individually happy rather than creatively utilizing the team's strengths, then they'll face nothing but delays.
In any case, don't get me wrong! I have a lot of fun putting these episodes together! I don't try to make the ponies seem too bitter, but I like to think of every pony's life as a whirlwhind of failures crowned by a cornucopia of magic, happiness, and carrots on strings. Then sometimes my friends and I drink.
Anyway, thanks for the thoughtful criticism. I'd just about have to change my personality to alter some of the more subjective material, but it's always nicer to see a detailed analysis on someone's opinion rather than a simple statement of "this sucks".
This stuff cracks me up something awful! It's brilliant! Very rarely do we get to see a parody of anything so lovingly done. Keep up the good work! After dealing with various government bureaucrats on the phone this morning, I could really use the laugh...
I think the main problem I have with the series is the pacing. It just feels so bland and slow.
I know not all abridged series have to be the same, but there's definitely a style that has worked for all of the major ones. This series sometimes comes off more as a dub of the episodes instead of an ABRIDGED series.
Rather than planned out and fast paced jokes that poke fun at aspects of the series, it feels more like you're just watching the series and saying a few goofy things as it plays out while barely editing the series itself to make it flow better.
This series definitely isn't bad, but it's a swing and a miss for me with some potential. If you tightened up the editing it would definitely improve. The jokes and the dialogue should dictate the cuts, not how the show plays out. If a character is doing nothing for too long, it should be cut out. We don't need to see every little moment of the show to understand what's going on.
And sometimes the music is too loud and distracting. lol
overall, i like this series more than the other abridged one. Ep 1 was VERY funny, and Impressive 1st time video/sound editing. 3 was Ooook. but that more stems from the fact i idnt like the real episode that much. 2 and 4 were brilliant though. Drunk Applejack really made me laugh a ton. as for 4, the best part was Rarity and Trixie discussing that Drama club lays dont count, and both saying Twilight was lame in High School. Bravo sir, i look forward to more of them
OH GOD DUDE WHY MUST YOU MAKE ME LAUGH SO HARD! 5 is now my favourite. i loved it so much. twilight's stories, rarity's rant about being monodimensional, rainbowdash wanting to be a carwasher from lesbia. brilliantly done. i didnt notice the sound overpowering any of the voices this time, great job fixing that. only problem: finnished rather abruptly. kinda stopped out of nowhere. it was a funny ending, but yeah.
This has gotten, for the most part, progressively funnier as the series has gone on. I found the Dragonshy positively hilarious, especially the parts with Twilight Sparkle. I found it kinda amusing that Fluttershy was probably the least important character in the episode she starred in.
Although there is less Parody in this series than Camaraderie is Supernatural, this (especially the last episode) is the absolute funniest series. It's just joke after joke. I love the consistency. It makes be feel giggly inside.
Yay, new episode. I like some of their episodes more than others, this new one was pretty decent overall. "Guys, whatever you do, don't stop bickering. I'm going to follow the sound of your incessant whining!" Also, Nazi Rarity made me laugh hard. Oh lawdy. :D
Wow, these are by far the best Abriged series videos for MLP yet.
The earlier ones were a little rough (in comparison), but you've improved so much from an already awesome beginning that I'm pretty sure you'll be fine. The humor is spot on, the editing and transitions have improved a lot, and the music is much less distracting.
The only thing that I might change is getting more voice actors. Not for the Mane 6, but for one episode characters and the ilk. You do a good job, but variety is nice.
Has anyone seen SonicFseries' MLP Camaraderie is supernatural? That was a bit better than the abridged series you showed us. Here's a link to their videos: http://www.youtube.com/user/SonicFSeries#p/c/B4B540A6E48FEE56 . They have only 2 episodes so far but it's still pretty funny.
I checked all the other abridged series, butthis is the best MLPFiM aabridged out there. Friendship is Witchcraft is a close second but has only two episodes so far.
There are several things that make this series great:
1. Twilight's Hilariously Traumatic Childhood, given appropriate nods here and there.
2. All the implications of Equestria as a Police state. Spike's interrogation, mostly.
3. Pinkie. Just Pinkie.
4. The series has great little continuity nods to it's previous episodes, my favorite so far being RUBBER DUCKY, YOU'RE THE ONE! YOU MAKE BATHTIME, LOADS OF FUN!
I was iffy at first, since the voices were difficult to tell apart. Then Pinkie Pie said "I keep in the refridgerator so the rats will not catch on" and my misgivings went away.
Fluttershy's Voice is so perfect, almost as good as her actual one. I mean, if I heard that voice in the street I would think Fluttershy was around the corner.
No you will not, for I totally agree with her that she is the prettiest pony in all of Ponyville, and it's a fact because I'm not in Ponyville, otherwise she wouldn't be the prettiest pony in Ponyville but only the second-prettiest pony in all of Ponyville while I would be the prettiest pony in all of Ponyville and the prettiest pony in all of Equestria.
Also, I'll sic Taz on you.
And this episode did not address my special needs for Disassociative Identity Disorder. I demand more Disassociative Identity Disorder! And cake! Chocolate cake! With sprinkles, and icing and little candy ponies filled with cherry filling so that when I bite-off their heads, it looks like they're bleeding.
You know what? Forget the cake. Just bring me the cherry-cream-filled candy ponies. Lots of 'em. And some cake. With sprinkles. And some ice cream. Actually, forget the cake. Just bring me cherry-filling-filled candy ponies and ice cream. With cherries. And chocolate cake.
You know what? Just give me all your lunch money. And some cherry-filling-filled candy ponies. And some chocolate ice cream. And some chocolate cake.
This series has been hit and miss for me in a massive way: when it hits (which is fairly frequent), I absolutely love it, but when it misses it just feels... painful. I'm definitely a fan, don't get me wrong; it's just that there are scenes that seem to drag on and on sometimes without really going anywhere. I realize that a lot of the jokes are essentially just that, ponies talking without really getting anywhere, but sometimes that just ain't enough.
Notably, the number of hilarious moments has gone way up since the first episodes, while the instances of unfunnny ones have gone down. I think my favorite part was Rarity demonstrating the size of Rainbow Dash's brain - making it more than just funny dialogue really knocked that scene out of the park. Like everyone else has said, the continuity is great, and Pinkie's character has been growing on me a lot. Plus, your version of Twilight is fantastic; she feels like a Jack Vance quote-protagonist-unquote sometimes.
yay! Finally! So Bummed FlimFam may be done with them for the forseeable future. Seems school and his real life is taking priority at the moment. I await when he has more time to do more, because this is by far the funniest abridged series
I still bust out giggling almost everytime Pinkie opens her mouth in these. lol Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle were killing me too. They were freaken great! xD This 10th episoide was another winner. Absolutely hilarious. Please continue making these. <3
This was interesting, I gave episodes 1-3 a go. The humor is there. Three had me laughing. Understandably, the first episode was a little rough cut.
As was mentioned by others, the character voices are a little to similar for my tastes. Both in terms of similarity of characters, and a lack of dynamic range for each individual character. I'm of the opinion that I should be able to look away from the screen, and the voices should clearly separate.
Perhaps recording different voices at separate sittings would improve each character's sound? Take time to warm up to any one character before doing their lines. Think about their mannerisms and the particular texture of their speech. Say a couple of lines and adjust. I've found that it is extremely difficult to jump back and forth between different character voices without having them blend together. Having the voices on some kind of earbud playback, such that you can have a conversation with yourself, may help.
As for the length and pacing, this reminds me more of Brad Neely's "Wizard People, Dear Reader" rather than typical "Abridged" faire. Either that, or "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead". I'll be watching this to see where it goes, and to see what direction the humor takes.
I am the greatest, I am the greatest. Ahhhhhhh "I used to live in content misery." "Until you jerks started jerking with me." "I like Racecars." "I'm naked!" "Who's your friend?" "Faithful and Strong!" "Wait, I'm not ready!"

Irish Celestia, that's all I needed to hear.
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome!
ReplyDeleteomg despite all the voices being done by one person, this is actually quite funny!
ReplyDeleteThis is F&*(&ing brilliant. Way to claim the official abridged spot, at least in my eyes.
ReplyDeleteOH LAWDY.
ReplyDeleteThat was amazing.
I love this!
ReplyDeleteThis is so much better than the abridged series. Seriously. This guy single-handedly made something 200% cooler.
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw this was a guy who left the other abridged team I was worried this would just be some half-flank video to piss them off. Much to my surprise this was really funny, and it does sadden me that the other series has so many internal problems since I felt it had great potential.

ReplyDeleteMy God... this is probably what we were all thinking at the time.
ReplyDeleteFluttershy and Rainbow Dash are guaranteed to make any party fun, but Pinkie didn't sound crazy enough.
ReplyDeleteLol I can't decide which was better, attention whore Rainbow Dash or Latino Pinkie Pie
ReplyDeleteI must say that this is much better than the other abridged series x3
ReplyDeleteThe irish accents, they make everything better XD
PINKIE IS AMAZING!!!
Lol, Dash attention seeking pony.
Pinkie IS AMAZING!!!
"COMMENCE THE INVASION WHEN I COMPLETE THE EQUATION!!!"
"OK NOW!"
"SHUT DOWN EVERYTHING!!"
PINKIE IS AMAZING!!!!
This should be called, Twilight Sparkle vs. the laws of reality.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Ive got the music in me!! lol
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteSounded more like mid to eastern european to me
Ahahaha classic Celestia, always wantin to gouge out your eyes.

ReplyDeleteThis was made up of so much epic and win. Amazing.

ReplyDeleteHave you guys heard of the Amazing Race?
ReplyDelete"You mean that old show where ponies raced across Equestria for prizes?"
No, I mean unicorns! Problem?
That was really good and well worth seeing. I especially loved the discussion near the end.
ReplyDelete"Mistake?"
@Anonymous 10:32
ReplyDeleteNo, you weren't. That was one small problem I had. But since this was actually amusing, I chocked that up to inexperience.
That was funny. Would of been more enjoyable had there been more then one voice actor to make the characters dialog stand out more, but he did a good job regardless.
ReplyDeleteThat was pretty good! 8/10 way better then the 3/10 I would give the other abridged series

ReplyDeleteHad that problem, too, but just in a couple spots.
The Pinkie stuff is really great.
ReplyDeleteThough, like the other abridged series, the pacing of most of the individual scenes still feels a bit too slow to me.
I'd say that the voices of Fluttershy and Rarity need the most improvement in distinctiveness.
ReplyDelete"All she ever does is shovel crap...
ReplyDelete...into my life."
XD
This was awesome, keep at it.
ReplyDeleteTry giving Rarity and Dash a different tone of voice, because them and twilight sound pretty much the same. Also add some sound effects in there, even the cheapest ones make a difference.
"I say we call her bluff. She doesn't have the nerves!"
ReplyDeleteAm I the only one who thought RBD occasionally sounds like Joey from YGOTAS?
ReplyDeletewow, this turned out much better than expected.
ReplyDeletepoints to improve on would be better distinction between voices and being careful not to let the music drown out the dialogue.
loved it anyway, i must say.
That was pretty funny, Way better then the frist Abridged video, way better script.
ReplyDeleteI personally think his voice acting was also much better then the other one as well.
Cheers!
Keep up the good work!
Why be skeptical since it was just one person? Yugioh Abridged started off with just one guy, and it defined the genre. Okay, so the vast majority of Abridged series suck... let alone those made by a single person... You know what, never mind.
ReplyDeleteI didn't think this was funny at all.
ReplyDelete@Poe's Raven
ReplyDeleteI thought so too! Had to mention that on his episode page.
Rainbow Dash is the best in this, just sayin.
ReplyDelete@David
ReplyDeleteGlad I wasn't the only one.
@Sethisto
ReplyDeleteI was partial to the characterization of Pinky Pie, but RBD was a close second.
Twilight and Pinkie on this reminds me of Charlie the Unicorn...
ReplyDeleteWow! That was really good.
ReplyDeleteThe voices could use more oomph. They're funny (and very well synced), but they often sound flat, as if you're not fully committed to the characters and lines you wrote.
Ol' Trollestia at the End. Can't Beat the Ultimate Troll, Twilight! XD
ReplyDeleteDon't mean to be a grumpy pony, but I found that the voice acting seriously lacked commitment. I'm somewhat surprised this is getting such a good reception. It's about on par with most of the other attempts at Abridging MLP I've seen, which means somewhat lackluster.

ReplyDeleteThis one actually has some potential. With some tweaked editing and maybe a few changes to the voices, this could be great. :)

ReplyDeleteI couldn't manage to laugh at some part [Maybe I'm too sane after all...]
ReplyDeleteBut dang, I love this!
Need more editing and voice ranges, but I sure do like the multi-accents
One things for sure, I'M SUBSCRIBING!
Dear Twilight, I will gouge out your eyes...oh and here's six more tickets.
ReplyDeleteIt was funnier than the other one. Voice acting needs some work (Dash was great though) but it all comes down to the script, and the other Abridged series just didn't make me laugh.
ReplyDeleteVENGEANCE!
ReplyDeleteAlso, shrimps.
>Ponies confusing scottish accents with irish accents.
ReplyDeleteI lold,
ReplyDeleteAlso glad i wasnt drinking anything when AJ called Dash Sugarpie, and the Roofies joke
"I've even got pie on my head! So, Twilight, you want any pie?"
ReplyDelete"NEVER AGAIN!!!" *cries*
"well what's the matter with pies?"
excuse me while i die of laughter.
Ehhh still no.
ReplyDelete100 times better than FiMAbridged, but still...
I like the Racism
ReplyDeleteHehehe... Unicorns WOULD think they're the superior ponies, wouldn't they? Honestly, stick something on people's heads and they think they're friggin' kings.
ReplyDeleteVery funny, and while the voices DO need some more definition, I found it all to fit within the same sort of surreal nature that I found in that opening.
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteYu-Gi-Oh! Abridged only had one voice actor. and that is widely accepted as the best abridged series ever.
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteWhat he said.
This is well written and voiced really well, despite just being one guy. I didn't always hear that Pinkie said though. Someone should make subtitles for it.

Plenty of gold in them thar hills, overall.
"Meep meep meep" if I heard that coming towards me IRL I'd run.
ReplyDeleteNot even a smile.
ReplyDeletePinkie was slightly entertaining however.
This is 20% cooler than that one abridged series made like two weeks ago.
ReplyDeleteLost my shit at "That was no way for the master race to be seen," mostly because it's so true.
ReplyDelete"Spike, I will give you three blowjobs for those tickets."
ReplyDeletethat was awesome, do more.
ReplyDeleteOkay bronies, I hope you guys won't call me out for being biased in this comment just because I'm a member of the Abridged team that supposed was so terrible. This my frank opinion as a parody-maker, voice actor, and overall person.

ReplyDeleteU mad bro?.
No. Eurobeat Brony may have started the fad, but others were inspired by him, he didn't shut down the genre.)
tldr;
U mad bro?
ReplyDeleteGood improvement on the second episode. Looking forward to more.
ReplyDeleteGreat improvements! Still need some work on the voices, I though Twilight and Applejack sounded similar at times.
ReplyDeleteOh that Pinkie Pie and her attempted mass murder!
ReplyDeletesoooo awesome!
ReplyDeletesoawesomeface.jpg
Not even a smirk.
ReplyDeleteLove the take on pinkie though.
The first episode was much better. This one just dragged on and made predictable "OMG APPLE JACK IS DRUNK!!11" jokes every two seconds...
ReplyDeleteGreat new episode, looking forward to the next one!
ReplyDeleteI like it, keep up the good work, i say the more parodies the better, we gotta get through this 3-5 month drought somehow and @Conner Skye, doesn't the show involve sharing? share the spotlight and just enjoy it for what it is: entertainment
ReplyDeleteThis was great! I REALLY loved the cupcakes part, and love how the background ponies go "MEEP MEEP!"
ReplyDeleteI give it a meh. I prefer the one from the KnightsofCanterlot. I love it! Its just so random!
ReplyDeleteThe Pinkie Pie making cupcakes segment made this worth watching by itself.
ReplyDeleteYou can only TRUELY love something when you can laugh and make fun of it. . . . . AND THIS WAS NO EXCEPTION!!! the MEEPING was hilarious!
ReplyDeleteIs that insanity prawn Pinky Pie? this is awesome. Shrimps!
ReplyDeleteO.O I'll never look at that episode the same way ever again.
ReplyDeletei ate the poisons to advert suspicio--uuunggnh
ReplyDelete@Conner Skye
ReplyDeleteWell if it WAS a "personal attack", at least it was way funnier than your "abridged series episode".
Every fan project has haters, and good creators will take the high road. You guys seem to keep taking the Whiny Road or the Douchebag Road, so it's hard for anyone to want to side with you or see your project succeed.
"Omg i cooked that worm! HES A HIGHLANDER!!"
ReplyDeletemeh, I found the first part to be the better of the two, but that might just be me. Not to say that this didn't have its funny moments.
ReplyDeleteThe sound balance is a whole lot better on this one; I can actually hear the voices without needing to use headphones. Thanks for fixing that.
I love this version of Pinkie and Rainbow Dash.
ReplyDeleteThe pacing seems to have improved a fair bit with this second one. Another little boost and it'd be perfect I think.
ReplyDeletePinkie is still fantastic. The entire thing is worth it for that alone :)
I want more. Meep especially.
ReplyDeleteYou're holding out because I'm a filthy earth pony when it's you who is filthy! You who is filthy! Hehe I don't know why but I like that whole exchange.
ReplyDeleteHuh, didn't find it funny at all.
ReplyDeleteI guess to each their own
Pinkie Pie is starting to really scare me. Also, poor Gilda. I know she was a bitch, but this version of the mane cast is a lot more terrifying, so it's pretty justified.
ReplyDeleteAs usual, Pinkie was hilarious. And Rarity too, actually.
ReplyDeleteOH GOD YES FUND IT
ReplyDeleteow.. my brain
ReplyDeletePractice is beginning to make perfect.
ReplyDeletecomment number 100! WOo! also, good series.
ReplyDeleteI was hoping for a laugh, but was sadly disappointed. No offense just not my cup of tea
ReplyDelete#3, Russian Pinkie with multiple personality disorder is so funneh
ReplyDeleteI liked Pinkie's voice but other than that it wasn't really funny.
ReplyDeleteBetter than the other abridged series that was linked on her though.
Third episode was pretty sweet.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely improving progressively with each one.
pinkie was actually cat face in that :D
ReplyDeleteThis wasn't great, but it was good.
ReplyDeleteIt was definitely better than... THAT OTHER SERIES.
Heh, "balloon butt"!!
ReplyDeleteDrama? In my Friendship!? It's more likely than you think.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering when divergent projects would lead to it. Let's see how the fandom manages these first bites of bickering.
Now, while I don't like the abridged genre, let's see if I laugh :)
"The bad thing about having thumbs is that they can be broken."
ReplyDelete*sigh*, So true, Spike, so true...
Anyways, I think that Twilight's my favorite, merely for the whole "Screw consequences!" gambit at the end of episode 1.
This is the first time I noticed Rainbow Dash's eyebrow motion at the beginning of Ep. 3. It fit so well, I went back to check whether it was in the original video.
ReplyDeleteTo be honest, these aren't funny, at all. It seems like something hilarious to do with your friend when you're all drunk on a Tuesday night, but to watch is kind of unbearable. Maybe it's the voices that annoy me, or I don't know, but this seems like lackluster, boring work.
ReplyDeleteI did not like the second episode as much as the first, but this new third episode is pretty good! I like how he jumps around and makes his own story. Pinkie Pie is great!
ReplyDeleteI actually really like the way the voices are. I think it makes it even more funny.
ReplyDeleteAnd I don't see why people should fight over which one is best.
ReplyDeleteAs for a dueling abridged series?
ReplyDeletei was skeptical at first, but the thrid one is pure solid F**KING GOLD
ReplyDeleteYeah, especially in the third episode there were some parts where I couldn't hear the voices at all because the music was too loud.
ReplyDelete@FimFlamFilosopher
ReplyDeleteAs has already been said multiple times, the music is my major issue.
ReplyDeleteThe group effort really missed out when they got rid of you, and they should have kept your scripts.
Also, I actually think it's good that you skipped the pilot episodes, since I doubt it's possible to do the same level of story rearranging that you've done with these ones.
Good effort, and I look forward to more.
ok that was pretty fucking funny, and deep voice Trixie was hilarious.
ReplyDeletethe 4th was hilarious. I didn't even like the 1st,2ed,3rd ones...
ReplyDeleteHmmm I have to say I do like this better then forks.
ReplyDeleteWell that was disappointing
ReplyDeleteOMG! Twilight shot the poor space bear!
ReplyDeleteDoes this guy always add techno music in the background?
ReplyDeleteI quite like this. And I agree on the music being too loud at times.
ReplyDeleteWell, I loved the first two, liked the third, and thought the fourth was okay.
ReplyDeleteI hope the decline doesn't continue.
i for one loved this fourth one. deep voice trixie, foriegn snips and snails, twilights parts with spike. i actually laughed aloud. you should be proud of yourself bro, you're doing good work.
ReplyDeleteHow about some love to another epic abridged?
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tIfHKfyRO5Y&feature=feedu
Anon above me ^
ReplyDeleteWhen did that abridged series start? Is it new? How many more episodes?
Liked One, Liked most of three, didn't like 2 because I've never found drunk people funny, didn't finish 4, Trixie as BAtman mocking actors did nothing for me- this might have to do with my dislike of Bale's gruff Batman voice.
ReplyDeleteIt is funny, and has some very good lines, but overall it's just... too cynical. They're all selfish pricks.
tl;dr Funny, but overall not to my liking.
@anon 7:55 AM
ReplyDeleteYou ought to send Sethisto an e-mail and just have him set you up on the site. I thought that was not a bad job. If I had a recommendation, though, I'd suggest a little more enthusiasm in the voices, although Fluttershy is fine. Cute too, in fact. She slid almost four feet!
@Abrocen Landmearca
I find it's usually not much use to compare myself to MST3k, Little Kuribo, or anyone else.
ReplyDeleteI think the main problem I have with the series is the pacing. It just feels so bland and slow.
ReplyDeleteI know not all abridged series have to be the same, but there's definitely a style that has worked for all of the major ones.
And sometimes the music is too loud and distracting. lol
^same person
ReplyDeleteYou are improving overall though for the most part.
That was the funny kind of stupid.
ReplyDeleteLAWL
Spike! I'll give you 3 blowjobs for those. I almost shat my self.
ReplyDeleteoverall, i like this series more than the other abridged one. Bravo sir, i look forward to more of them
ReplyDeleteCmon number 5, be as good as the others!
ReplyDeleteDARN YOU BRAIN, WHY DO YOU KNOW THAT THE BUTT THING IS A PEAR!
ReplyDeleteOtherwise, I much preferred the Dragonshy video to the Trixie one.
Poisoned lobsters!
ReplyDeleteOH GOD DUDE WHY MUST YOU MAKE ME LAUGH SO HARD!
ReplyDelete5 is now my favourite. i loved it so much. twilight's stories, rarity's rant about being monodimensional, rainbowdash wanting to be a carwasher from lesbia. brilliantly done. i didnt notice the sound overpowering any of the voices this time, great job fixing that.
only problem: finnished rather abruptly. kinda stopped out of nowhere. it was a funny ending, but yeah.
This has gotten, for the most part, progressively funnier as the series has gone on. I found the Dragonshy positively hilarious, especially the parts with Twilight Sparkle. I found it kinda amusing that Fluttershy was probably the least important character in the episode she starred in.
ReplyDeleteAlthough there is less Parody in this series than Camaraderie is Supernatural, this (especially the last episode) is the absolute funniest series. It's just joke after joke. I love the consistency. It makes be feel giggly inside.
ReplyDeleteI love the portrayal of Rainbow Dash
ReplyDeletePLEASE NOTICE ME!
Yay, new episode. I like some of their episodes more than others, this new one was pretty decent overall. "Guys, whatever you do, don't stop bickering. I'm going to follow the sound of your incessant whining!" Also, Nazi Rarity made me laugh hard. Oh lawdy. :D
ReplyDeleteIf people didn't like the newest episode (6), they have no sense of humor whatsoever.
ReplyDeleteDer is a filthly earth pony in my bed mein fuhrer!
ReplyDeleteAHAHA This was the best one yet! I laughed soo much!
ReplyDelete"Carwash Rugmuncher" and all that was attached to that had me on the floor.
ReplyDeleteI there was intelligent humor in this one.
ReplyDelete"Shut up, Applejack. I was making fun of the Government."
As of now there are 6 Abridged Series out.
Four of them have only one episode.
One has two.
You have six.
How does it feel to have created half of the Pony-Abridged Series out there?
Oh my Celestia, that was your best one yet! Nazi Rarity was hilarious.
ReplyDeleteWow, these are by far the best Abriged series videos for MLP yet.
ReplyDeleteThe earlier ones were a little rough (in comparison), but you've improved so much from an already awesome beginning that I'm pretty sure you'll be fine. The humor is spot on, the editing and transitions have improved a lot, and the music is much less distracting.
The only thing that I might change is getting more voice actors. Not for the Mane 6, but for one episode characters and the ilk. You do a good job, but variety is nice.
lol slutty rarity..
ReplyDeleteWow, this last one was the best one yet. The whole thing had me in stitches, especially the end of it.
ReplyDeleteThis.... Isn't funny. There, I said it.
ReplyDeleteWell, the later ones are funnier. If this keeps going, I suppose they'll get better.
ReplyDeleteAh, love character development. Tyrant Celestia is great.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone seen SonicFseries' MLP Camaraderie is supernatural? That was a bit better than the abridged series you showed us. Here's a link to their videos: http://www.youtube.com/user/SonicFSeries#p/c/B4B540A6E48FEE56 . They have only 2 episodes so far but it's still pretty funny.
ReplyDeleteWell, that's tonight made!
ReplyDelete@AnonymousIt was posted here
ReplyDeleteI checked all the other abridged series, butthis is the best MLPFiM aabridged out there.
ReplyDeleteFriendship is Witchcraft is a close second but has only two episodes so far.
EVERYBODY NOW! Rubber ducky, you're the one. You make bathtime loads of fun.
ReplyDeleteBesides the annoying maniacal laughter he has during the intros, I enjoy these. Overall they are pretty dang funny.
ReplyDeleteThere are several things that make this series great:
ReplyDelete1.
That flashback was great.
ReplyDeleteI hope this series will cover the time till season 2.
Celestia was great, and I love the picture of the bread-stuffed Mrs. Buzzy.
ReplyDeleteIf only this guys version of PinkiePie was canon. We could have a lot of fun with that.
ReplyDeleteOverall I think this guy is amazing. I hope one day we'll see his work on the TV
So good!
ReplyDeleteMaybe re-record the opening ("Mah leetle ponies"), though. It's a tad annoying.
Mrs. Buzzy is pretty much canon for me now.
ReplyDeleteThey'd be fine if you tried them.
ReplyDeleteThese are awesome. Good job sir.
omg that Australian Celestia/Twilight Sparkle dialogue was killer
ReplyDelete^I fully agree with the above statement^
ReplyDeleteThat Celestia ROFL
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad this guy finally got on here! He's great.
ReplyDeleteDear Twilight, I'm going to gouge out your eyes.
ReplyDeleteShit.
Why so Irish?
ReplyDeleteCould use some more accents. But pretty amusing otherwise.
Fluttershy... unattractive? Gasp! Poor Fluttershy. :( But I love these, they're great. And the voices, especially Pinkie's and Fluttershy's.
ReplyDeleteahaha, oh wow
ReplyDeleteI was iffy at first, since the voices were difficult to tell apart. Then Pinkie Pie said "I keep in the refridgerator so the rats will not catch on" and my misgivings went away.
ReplyDeleteFluttershy's Voice is so perfect, almost as good as her actual one.
ReplyDeleteI mean, if I heard that voice in the street I would think Fluttershy was around the corner.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'll sic Taz on you.
ReplyDeleteNotably, the number of hilarious moments has gone way up since the first episodes, while the instances of unfunnny ones have gone down.
Ooh... Lovecraft reference!
ReplyDelete"I wish you wouldn't distort the laws of time and space."
ReplyDelete"Shut up! They're my powers to abuse."
"Its not even like Lesbia is a real place"
ReplyDeleteNice
"Shut up! They're my powers to abuse!"
ReplyDeleteScottish Spike FTW
This just makes me howl with laughter, the first time I watched it I think I wasted half my adult beverage by laughter induced choking!
ReplyDeleteDon't drink and watch this. You will spill your drink!
yay! Finally! So Bummed FlimFam may be done with them for the forseeable future. Seems school and his real life is taking priority at the moment. I await when he has more time to do more, because this is by far the funniest abridged series
ReplyDeleteI still bust out giggling almost everytime Pinkie opens her mouth in these. lol Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle were killing me too. They were freaken great! xD This 10th episoide was another winner. Absolutely hilarious. Please continue making these. <3
ReplyDeleteThis was interesting, I gave episodes 1-3 a go. The humor is there. Three had me laughing. Understandably, the first episode was a little rough cut.
ReplyDeleteAs was mentioned by others, the character voices are a little to similar for my tastes.

ReplyDeleteThe fact that this post only has an average rating of 4.6 stars represents everything that is wrong with this fandom.
ReplyDeleteNow if you'll excuse me, I have to go clean up from the massive spittake I did when Sweetie Belle came on in Episode 10. And also go watch it again.
I love it when abridgers make a cuite character possessed, It always comes of so well
ReplyDeleteGod, this is my favourite abridged series. That guy's voice is awesome, espeically when he does Dash- wait, Lesbian Carwasher.
ReplyDeleteJust damn hilarious.
You guys should check out his reading of 'Bubbles.' It's not as depressing as the fanfiction.
EPISODE TEN HERE I GO.
I am the greatest, I am the greatest. Ahhhhhhh
ReplyDelete"I used to live in content misery."
"Until you jerks started jerking with me."
"I like Racecars."
"I'm naked!"
"Who's your friend?"
"Faithful and Strong!"
"Wait, I'm not ready!"
I was already dead by laughter at this point.
That was actually pretty good
ReplyDeleteI love this series it's so great
ReplyDeleteIT'S FINALLY HERE!!!! *SQUEALS LOUDLY* YAY~
ReplyDelete
