There have been plenty of fake game screens and pictures floating around for a while now. What kind of game would YOU prefer to play a pony in?
Genre Ideas:
MMORPG
Western RPG (Open World-Oblivion)
Japanese RPG (Linear Story-Final Fantasy)
2D Fighter
3D Fighter
RTS
Shooter
Platformer (My personal pony dream game, Ratchet and Clank style!)

MMORPG and Platformer, not really anything else.
ReplyDeletetotally a mmorpg! i would play that all the time.. possibly the same for shooters and RTS!.
ReplyDeleteThe first 3 and platformer.
ReplyDeleteWhat anon said. Can't see anything else working well, except maybe a W/JRPG.
ReplyDeleteRTS is just silly.
What kind do I want? The playable kind.
ReplyDeletePreferably with me in it.
3D fighting game much like DBZ budokai
ReplyDeleteFPS.
ReplyDeleteIt has to be doable... some how
2d fighter for sure
ReplyDeleteA 2D/3D fighting pony game.
ReplyDeleteFUND IT.
Any of the first three. I think the MMORPG is the best because it takes advantage of the Brony community but having either an open world RPG or a slightly linear game with a great story would still be great.
ReplyDelete@AnonymousHypothetically speaking of course
ReplyDeleteRTS and shooters for ponies would be really strange. I'd like a W/JRPG or MMORPG.
ReplyDeleteGimmie Pony Games. PERIOD.
ReplyDeleteAlso make Luna a tier of her own, above uber tier.
That is all~
A Caesar/Simcity kind of game.
ReplyDeleteProbably japenese RPG, or platformer (if its like ratchet and clank)
ReplyDeleteI think ponies can be in anything really,
ReplyDeleteCall of Cutie
World of Marecraft
Minecolt
Maretal Combat
Platformer, would be perfect R&C style.
ReplyDeleteMMORPG, but I expect to be playing Guild Wars 2 soon. Though I wouldn't mind if the last profession was "Pony".
ReplyDeleteMMO, or at least something online multiplayer. The community is worth it.
ReplyDeleteAnything. So long it's playable and has ponies.
ReplyDeleteI would prefer an MMO of some sort, though. ^^
MMO/RPG or platformer would be my votes. Fighting and shooter just sounds kind of odd to me given the source material, but I'll take any game at this point, so long as more pony.
ReplyDeleteFallout Equestria as a real game.
ReplyDeleteApplejack Farmville.
Pinkie Pie Diner Dash.
A Mass Effect style game where the decisions you make actually change things.
A Sonic like game with Rainbow Dash.
1)Western RPG (Open World-Oblivion)
ReplyDelete2)MMORPG
I think a fighter in the style of the Marvel vs. Capcom games would be amazing.
ReplyDeleteRTS and Shooter doesn't really fit the world, so to do those one would have to be careful.
ReplyDeleteAn RPG of any kind would work and likely be the most popular, especially if it had a good character customization engine.
The fighter I think would be nice to see to, but it should stay 2D unless those working on it can pull off some amazing 3D rendering that approximates the show's style.
Another Genre that would be simple to implement is a point and click adventure. Those aren't very popular, I know. I don't play them much myself, but still food for thought.
TOUHOU-STYLE SHMUP. Would be god-tier.
ReplyDeleteActually everything is interesting with ponies :D
ReplyDeleteI have no Favourites.
Shadow of the Colossus, but with only Agro.
ReplyDeleteDO IT.
2D Fighter.
ReplyDeleteGotta match the awsome animation of the show.
And who wouldn't love the potential for all the silly finishing moves?!
I'd love anything to reach fruition, but that header image is totally my new wallpaper.
ReplyDeleteJapanese OR western RPG... or possibly something like the Sims, having a pony pull together a career and a life, making friends and schtuff.
ReplyDeleteAn MMO would work nicely... open-world RPG... JRPG, maybe... ooh, 2D fighter would be hilarious... I want it all, and I want it now!
ReplyDeleteIn order of preference:
ReplyDelete1. MMO
2. WRPG
3. 2D Fighter
4. Platformer
..
..
100. Shooter.
The image for this post is ten types of awesome, though.
For me: MMORPG, Western RPG or Platform (I would say Crash Bandicoot style)
ReplyDeleteI would love to see a Brawl style 2D fighter with ponies in it :D
ReplyDelete2D fighter, Capcom style. Somebody with M.U.G.E.N engine exp needs to get on it.
ReplyDeleteA fighter.
ReplyDelete>Watching "The Secretariat"
ReplyDelete>Think of ponies every time they saw 'mare', 'foal', 'stallion', etc.
>Laughing to myself; everyone else thinks I'm crazy
Eeeyup.
You make that RTS right now.
ReplyDeleteAnyone else think that an Animal Crossing style game would work great in this setting?
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDelete...a racing game. Or Iron Pony Competition.
How did we miss the best and most obvious answer? A dating-sim game, of course.
ReplyDeletelinear Japanese RPG or Platformer
ReplyDeletei honestly don't see how an MMO or open-world would even work, as in what would people do in it without the *go kill 10 bats* thing.
All of the above I say!
ReplyDeleteJapanese RPG or a platformer.
ReplyDeleteif fellow bronies are gonna make a fighter game, have fluttershy's special combo FLUTTERAGE!!
ReplyDeleteother then that, I don't mind any of them, but I perfer shooter or MMORPG
Paper Mario style RPG.
ReplyDeleteThe humor, the battle system, it all just fits so perfectly, think about it.
MMORPG with character customization of course.
ReplyDeleteThat or a nice platformer that lets you play as any of the mane cast plus minigames with backgrounders and whatnot.
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteI could really get behind that one, too. The humor is a definite match.
Western RPG
ReplyDeletePlatformer
has to have me in it though :)
• RPG would be good.
ReplyDelete• Real physics, cloud busting flight sim.
• Platformer in the style of "lost vikings" where every character has their own unique ability might fit.
• MMO would have to reverse some gaming standards to make it work, but it would be awesome...
Most MMOs involve teaming up to destroy things and take their stuff, but a MLP MMO would have to involve the reverse, teaming up and CREATING things. You couldn't have exclusive guilds where you can only join one, you'd have to have inclusive groups (like facebook or some other social network) that connect together in a web. It would probably have to involve a lot of player built content.
A player built world like a cross between minecraft and the sims would be pretty epic for a MLP MMO, as long as there was some mechanism to contain griefers.
Downloadable Ponies for the fighter game MUGEN maybe?
ReplyDeleteI'm okay with MMORPG'S, Platformers and the like, but I really want to tweak nightmare moon into being invincible and to launch hadokens from her horn.
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteI concur. It wouldn't be hard to do either. Danmakufu exists for a reason.
Western RPG please.
ReplyDeleteJust like Oblivion, Fallout, and KOTOR.
I'd be happy FOREVER!
MMORPG or Western RPG. I can't see fighting or shooter really being anything at all, and I can't stand Japanese....well, I can't stand a lot of things Japanese.
ReplyDeleteWestern RPG; huge open world, a main storyline, and a wealth of side-quests to undertake? On a show where that kind of extra side fluff practically can't go wrong? Hecks yeah! I would be psyched to, while on the quest to save Equestria from some great evil, to walk down an alley and wind up doing a fetch quest for some of Carrot Top's food for Derpy Hooves. There's SO many memes and fanon references that could be made that over a hundred side-quests would write themselves.
ReplyDelete2D fighter; but I admit that the reason I choose this one is just because I really like that picture. That picture has made me love the idea. If you can get a roster of that size, and actually do more than just copy the move set onto a new pixel set for most of the characters then that would be incredible.
Platformer; come on. The most fundamental genre, especially for indie developed games. This genre goes with almost anything!
Shooter; This one has to be a joke, but... when I saw that choice there, the idea of how one would make an MLP shooter fascinates me, and I want to see it happen.
Either a platformer
ReplyDeleteOr a plot heavy/combat minimal western RPG like Torment
An MMO.
ReplyDeleteA Platformer
And an RTS.
Those are the only things that seem Pony-like
Definitely a platformer game, like Mario, Sonic, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro The Dragon, and the like.
ReplyDeleteFUCK YEAH FIGHTER
ReplyDeleteI'll take 2D or 3D, both styles are great :D
If not a fighter then a platformer definitely.
I'd say, a combination of eastern and western RPG would be nice. Something silly that pokes a little fun at itself with gameplay mechanics and a good story.
ReplyDeleteA good example would be the first two Paper Mario games. I would love an MLP: FIM RPG along the same vein as those.
I had thought once of modifying Dwarf Fortress into Pony Ville, with less fighting, and a radically different tech tree...
ReplyDeleteSomething like farming apples, farming wheat, millstoning it into cake flour when combined with baking powder (formed of soda ash and lime water) which you use to make apple muffins... etc, with a number of economic buildings, etc. Even getting together a proper namegen would be an interesting problem.
Actually, just do them all.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to have a Western RPG with some shooting elements, kind of like Mass Effect.
ReplyDeleteActually, I did have a Phantasy Star Online-ish idea that could be cool.
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteYes, yes, 100 times this. I'd love to shoot up unicorns firing thousands of colorful bullets.
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteI came to the comments to say "Lost Vikings-style puzzle platformer", but I see I was beaten to it.
It would be fantastic, allowing for lots of fun dialogue and make good use of all the ponies' unique abilities, while still being a slow-paced non-violent game that MLP fans of all ages could enjoy.
@Anonymous
ReplyDeletePonycraft :o
Right now I'm working on a Pony Trading card game:
ReplyDeletehttp://chadrocco.deviantart.com/#/d3faii9
I would blow someone for a decent MLP 2D fighter
ReplyDeleteJRPG, definitely. Something like Paper Mario would be perfect for FIM I think.
ReplyDeleteA JRPG modeled after Persona 3/4. The dating sim elements would work great with FiM and then you get to run around beating the shit outta monsters!
ReplyDelete2D Fighter
ReplyDeleteMMORPG, 2D Fighter and Portal x FiM :D
ReplyDeleteMMORPG, WRPG or 3D platformer would be my choices. And it would need massive amounts of Luna!
ReplyDeleteMMORPG.
ReplyDeleteWithout a doubt.
That would take the two greatest aspects of the show and put them together.
The two being story-line and the community.
A platformer would be cool but harder to do correctly. A Western RPG or MMORPG could be pretty good. A JRPG would be easier to implement, but maybe not quite as satisfying.
ReplyDelete>FPS or other shooter
>RTS
>fighting game
lolno. Physical combat should be a last resort, or at worst a secondary aspect, but certainly not the primary focus.
Oh, and I would totally clop^H^H^H^Hplay a pony dating sim. (Yes, I saw the applicable thread on FiMchan.)
2d fighter!!!
ReplyDeleteguys
M.U.G.E.N
ALL OF THEM!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteplatformer, banjo-kazooie style
ReplyDeleteI wrote down a great concept for a classic platformer in the style of one of my favorite childhood Sega Genesis, World of Illusions.
ReplyDeleteOblivion or platform.
ReplyDeleteMMO
ReplyDeleteI would never leave it.
Make a game just like Animal Crossing, but Ponyville instead.
ReplyDeleteFantasy RPG or MMORPG will be good....
ReplyDeleteSomething in the same vein as Animal Crossing or Harvest Moon. It is the only correct answer.
ReplyDeleteA pony game for every genre. That would be awesome.
ReplyDeletean MMO for the social aspects, maybe.
ReplyDeleteOther than that, a fighting game a-la Blazblue or Guilty Gear. Mostly because i like fighting games.
RPG and 2D fighter/platformr seem to be the most workable. Plus a Fighter would be hillarious. Flutterrage ultra combo for the win!
ReplyDeleteI want a fighting game! Quick! Contact Capcom!
ReplyDeleteAll of them.
ReplyDeleteALL OF THEM.
Especially a Fighter. <3 Blazblue and MVC3
2D fighter is a must.

ReplyDeleteFUCK, THIRD TIME'S THE CHARM
ReplyDeletePonyville Puzzle League.
Make it like Tetris Attack, and I will love you forever.
To anypony who's played SONIC R, recreate that with the pony character and I'll be happy FOREVER.
ReplyDeletePlatformer all the way.
ReplyDeleteWee. My Char Roster work is in EqD.
ReplyDeleteI'm liking that Simcity idea. You become the newly elected "mare" (sorry) of a pony town. You're job is to:
ReplyDelete1. Keep resources and morale going (food, money, parties, etc.)
2. Protect the town from natural disasters (parasprites, dragons, poison joke outbreaks, Flutterrage)
3. Make sure traffic is flowing well (balloons, horse drawn trains, Pegasus air traffic control)
All in the name of creating a huge city of you're own design full of tiny ponies. Not sure how feasible it would be, though, since there would have to be a lot of number crunching behind the scenes.
>Western RPG (Open World-Oblivion)
ReplyDeleteTHIS
All of em except RTS or 3d fighter.
ReplyDeleteI'd love a pony Ratchet & Clank style platformer or a 2D fighter.
ReplyDeleteI could see a turn based strategy going over really well, and if the art was good, a fighter would be pretty awesome as well, but it would have to be very over-the-top, like Guilty Gear meets Smash Bros. over-the-top
ReplyDeleteMMO.
ReplyDeleteI'm totally not biased despite working on the music for one of them =3
2d fighter. With netplay.
ReplyDeleteFor the longest time I've been making the comment that MLP is the western equivalent of Touhou in every meaning of that word. The ONLY thing that it's missing now is a bullet hell shoot 'em up. It would make as little sense, and be as stupid a concept as Touhou's main series games already are.
ReplyDeleteWestern RPG and/or platformer would probably be my top picks, but Super Smash Bros: Equestria would be awesome as fuck.
ReplyDeleteI actually spent a good half an hour one day just imagining what everyone's special attacks would be.
japanese rpg,2d fighter,platformer,specially platformer
ReplyDeleteA Japanese-RPG, definitely (although I'm thinking more along the lines of EarthBound than Final Fantasy.) A platformer would be amazing, too.
ReplyDeleteA Brawl style 2D fighter would be awesome and a shooter would be pretty interesting
ReplyDeleteMMORPG or platformer would be my top two picks; the Western and Japanese RPGs would probably be fun too!
ReplyDeletejrpg, I love to try to make one ;D
ReplyDeleteI'd enjoy a first person shooter with a sort of snowboard-kids esque storyline where they settled problems with gun fights comprised of non-lethal play arsenals(squirt guns, pillows, water balloons as grenades, etc).
ReplyDeleteWestern rpg imagine goin everyplace ya wanna in equestria
ReplyDeleteA super smash brother: pony would be amazing
ReplyDeleteMMORPG, Western RPG, shooter and RTS. GIMME PLEASE!!!
ReplyDeletePony pinball?
ReplyDeleteALL of them.
ReplyDeleteA 3D MMO would be great, with lots of sandbox-style exploring! I'm sure that there are lots of cool things to find in Equestria!
ReplyDeleteA Super Smash Bros style pony game!
ReplyDeleteThat fighter looks pretty badass, but I don't like fighters.
ReplyDelete2D platformer, but the type is completely up the air. Mario-style (straight-up platforming), Megaman-style (run'n'gun), Metroidvania-style (Heavy exploration, backtracking, and unlockable powers and stuff), Braid-style (mostly puzzle-based), or something else. It's my favourite game genre, we must get it.
MMO Open World or platformer
ReplyDeleteRTS, Master of Magic style.
ReplyDeleteopen world rpg is the best rpg.
ReplyDeletemixed with mmorpg is even better, but i don't like mmorpg by itself.
A platformer would be perfect..
ReplyDeleteSomething with influence from Ratchet & Clank or Spyro..
With some mind binding puzzles from Portal or Half Life 2..
Where Unicorn ponies can use their magic like a Gravity Gun..
With 3 playable ponies at a single time with each type (Unicorn, Pegasus, Earth) with different abilities, like in Trine..
And some guns and lasers and energy weapons from COD or Halo..
Er, TBS.
ReplyDeleteHmmm... probably gonna have to go with;
ReplyDeleteMMO (the one we've seen concept for looks interesting)
WRPG
2D (b/c of the pic)
RTS (Red Alert Pony LOL)
What is tarnation is this hybrid my brain is coming out with..
ReplyDeletegotta go for the fighting game genera I think my life would be 20% more complete if I saw a pony shoryuken
ReplyDeleteThis might be a bit relevant and why this topic is here in the blog.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.ponychan.net/chan/collab/res/3608.html
I want a Derpy character when if it comes to fruition and Twilight book smacking Nightmare Moon can be found there too.
A platformer is probably the most feasible, but a 2d fighter would be pretty neat. Though I'll admit I would probably play any FiM-inspired game.
ReplyDelete2D Fighter
ReplyDeleteWestern RPG
A story-driven, versus-styled, 2D puzzle game similar to Puyo Puyo, Magical Drop or Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo would certainly be my ideal pony game!
ReplyDeletePerhaps an RPG with many different gameplay styles (like the awesome Half-Minute Hero) would rock as well!
Open world
ReplyDeleteMMO(doesn't have to be RPG)
Linear story
Those would all be good choices.
Fighter and RTS wouldn't be too bad but I suck at fighters and RTS's
I'd love an MMO. However, I'd also like a 3D Fighter similar in style to Dissidia.
ReplyDeleteThe forces of harmony can follow Celestia, the goddess of Harmony, and the forces of discord can follow Nightmare Moon, the goddess of Discord. x:
Luna can be one of the secret characters.
Platformer or RTS definitely.
ReplyDeleteMy Little Pony vs. Capcom: Friendship is Deadly
ReplyDeleteI personally think that a racing game with one of those 3-type systems would work. like Diddy Kong Racing or Sonic Riders
ReplyDeleteI just had the weirdest idea. Since we've had discussion about the mane cast's "issues" (Flutterrage, Pinkie's breakdown), I thought about a Psychonauts-esque platformer.
ReplyDeleteYou explore the worlds inside each pony's head (Pinkie's would be like Milla Vodello's, for instance) and you help ease the "emotional baggage."
I swear, I have not been drinking.
where do i click to select "all of the above"
ReplyDeleteI personally think that a Harvest Moon/Rune Factory style farming game would be perfect for an MLP Game.
ReplyDeleteEither MMORPG, Western RPG (Open World-Oblivion) or Shooter sounds good.
ReplyDeleteMMORPG
ReplyDeletePersonally I would totally enjoy a pony version of The Sims, one or two. That would be all kinds of epic in my opinion. Design your pony house, get your pony a job, have a party, that sort of stuff (throw in an online town area and you've got a winner of a game)
ReplyDeleteRTS or TBS
ReplyDeleteI always figured a Mario Party styled game would be perfect.
ReplyDeleteWestern RPG.
ReplyDelete@Randon Make your ponies woo-hoo?
ReplyDeletePony Crossing!
ReplyDeleteI could go for any of the RPG options, but my preferences lean towards Western. Fitting in with the show would probably be most easily accomplished by a platformer though. Maybe something along the lines of Trine to incorporate the three pony types?
ReplyDeleteI was playing Rune Factory 3 the other day, and a monster I killed dropped a sapphire, and for several seconds I mentally debated on whether to give it to Spike or to Rarity. I think that's a sign from above.
ReplyDeleteDanmaku shooter.
ReplyDeleteWith Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy on a team, like in Imperishable Night . . . .
I would pay in dollars, and human sacrifices just to get any pony game!
ReplyDeletePlatformer all the way. You could use each Pony's specific power to get past certain obstacles (Fluttershy can control animals, Twilight has de magics, etc.).
ReplyDeletePony fighter would be too hilarious.
ReplyDeleteI'd see them in a RTS, though.
a pony MMORPG would be nice.
ReplyDelete#1) A single-player RPG, in the style of "Sailor Moon: Another Story", which used a 'bad guy ressurrects all the previous villians / mind-controls the ones who turned good so we can use them again' setup, and was surprisingly entertaining.
ReplyDelete#2) A fighting game, but more along the lines of Smash Brothers then Street Fighter (so you could have "items" and spells and stuff), as well as the benefit of being more cartoon-level violence so that'd be a lot more likely to actually happen. Characters like, say, Angel or the CMC wouldn't work too well as main fighters, but as assistants, they sure would.
#3) A platformer is the game type we'd probably get if Hasbro does license FiM out, but it'd have to be done by a good company if it wasn't a fangame.. Nintendo or one of their divisions (HAL anyone? Kirby is both cute and badass!) would be best, but Capcom or a few others could pull it off too.
Either a Street Fighter styled fighting game, or a JRPG, Like Final Fantasy VI, where you had like 16 people in your party, so you could have all the fan favourites.
ReplyDeleteinb4 Derpy's limit break being dropping mail on people
Sim Ponyville sounds like a good idea, as long as you can see the little ponies going about their daily lives and they have personality traits. Managing the weather, organizing the harvest, changing the seasons, making sure there's a balance between crafting, gathering and entertainment professions.
ReplyDeleteAn aerial dogfighting game where you get to play as Rainbow Dash. Like HAWX
ReplyDeleteI'd take any of those genres! They all sound great.
ReplyDeleteIf you'd like to read this comment, i'd LOOOOOVVEE an RPG similar to the Mario and Luigi series on handhelds.. i would suppose its a japanese linear.. it being nintendo and all. That would be fantastic. (obviously not on ds though)
ReplyDeleteMMORPG
ReplyDelete2D fighter
'Nuff said
I think an Animal Crossing style RPG or MMORPG game would probably be the most likely choice for an official game. You are the new pony that has just moved to Ponyville (or the option of some other town if a MMO) and you explore and do what ever. There would have to be a good character customization engine so you can make your pony look unique right off the bat. (Accessories are earned as you play the game) The player should be able to make a pony that represents them, being able to designe your own Cutie Mark would also be a good choice.
ReplyDeleteThere should absolutely not be a limitation on choosing a pegasus or unicorn at the start. In the show all the pony classes are treated equally and saying something in the game like "you must earn x number of points before you can upgrade your Earth Pony to a Unicorn" makes Earth Ponies seem like second class citizens. That was what annoyed me with the "Adventures in Ponnyvile" game on the Hub website.
There 3 potential problems I can see with this type of game for older male bronies. One, the game is made sloppily, cheaply or stereotypically by people who don't care about the show or under heavy corporate restraints. Two, because an official game would be targeted directly to young girls there most likely wont be an option to make your pony male. Three, inorder to control online interaction and weed out deviants and predators there will be an age cap.
A Pony Puzzle/ mini game compilation on a hand held system would be the other choice, and possibly the more favorable choice from the eyes of executives. A simple cheep game.
What I would really like to see (though may only come from unofficial sources) would be a very well put together story driven RPG or action/adventure game featuring the Mane cast as they embark on a epic quest to once again bring peace back to Equestria.
I don't know how a RTS would work and a shooter (outside a mini game) does not match the tone and feel of the show and a fighter would probably only be fan made. (I do like the header pic).
Wathever genre animal crossing is
ReplyDeleteOr maybe harvest moon
A paper mario styled rpg.
ReplyDeleteEither that or A arcade "Beat 'em up" by Konami Themselves. Just like in the late 80's and early 90's. Seriously, They (the games) remind players of "the simpsons" Arcade game or the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" arcade games. and the games stay true to the source.
The "Beat em up" I had in mind is that up to six players can play at once, zany moves that you can pull off, wacky enemies that you have to face off against, massive bosses and then at the final level of the game, You have to battle the 4 "Apocalypse Ponies" and eventually face off a even deadlier, Blood thirsty "Nightmare Moon." and it can be a quarter muncher to boot.
After seeing a video for Vanguard Princess... I have to say that engine would make an awesome fighting game. Anu Aikan's character select screens made me all... goosebumpy.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of a wrpg or platformer but a fighting game seems to be a good combination of easy-to-get-started and complex-enough-to-test-the-maker's-resolve. :P
I'd love to help but I have no talents whatsoever. Unless you live nearby and want a pizza delivered. I'm kind of ok at that.
I'm thinking of something like Star Ocean 2 but any Western RPG and Japanese RPG with unique ending to each of the six mane will do.
ReplyDeleteMMORPG or fighting. <3
ReplyDeleteCo-op Puzzle-Solving Platformer
ReplyDeleteSimilar to the co-op challenges in Little Big Planet, but each pony has a unique ability.
2D fighter would be awesome, I have to say. As would a Ratchet and Clank style platformer.
ReplyDeleteMinigame based MMO, would be my first pick.
ReplyDeleteThen either of the RPG styles.
A 3D fighting game only for the sake of experiment.
2d fighter
ReplyDeleteI DEMAND VIOLENCE
I'd like to play a FPS shooter just for the lulz.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason a pony-style Touhou just seems right to me.
ReplyDeletedefiantly western rpg!
ReplyDeleteCave-style Shmup.
ReplyDeleteFailing that a Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes-style puzzle game.
Can't believe we have so few people wanting puzzle! The ponies do not even fight damnit!
I think a game where you build your own ponyville would be pretty cool. I'm not quite sure how the game would operate though, I mean you could do sim city, minecraft or even (dare I say it) a zynga type game
ReplyDeleteHow about you make your own pony (with a drawing tool for cutie marks) and you run around doing fetch quests.... basically western style MMO
ReplyDeleteSomething in line with the more recent Legend of Zelda games. Something where you get to explore Equestria and get to see places only mentioned in passing (Trotingham, Fillydelphia, etc).
ReplyDeleteMMORPG, platformer or JRPG. preferably all.
ReplyDeletePerhaps a monster hunter style game where you choose to take on various tasks and you manage a small community. Screw it, just base it off any capcom game
ReplyDelete2d fighter would be hilarious and awesome.
ReplyDeleteBut more than anything I like the idea of a MMORPG or a story-driven RPG.
A schmup would definitely be awesome! Something like Dondonpachi or U.N. Squadron!
ReplyDeleteSUPER
ReplyDeleteSMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASH
BROTHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRS!!!!
Western RPG
ReplyDeleteJRPG (This is coming true, somepony I know on a chat is making one, and it's amazing even though it's in the very early stages. You might know him, he made orchestrated versions of songs that were posted on this blog.)
Platformer
A God game similar to Sim City or White & Black.
ReplyDeleteOr a strategy game similar to Civilizations or Total War.
You play as Princess Celestia (or some unnamed Alicorn) as you rule Equestria with a fair hoof or an iron hoof.
Also rival sentient animal civilizations such as buffaloes and griffins will challenge you at every turn be as you expand your territory to achieve TOTAL PONY DOMINATION.
My Dream List:
ReplyDeleteMMORPG - Any of the already amazing looking fan made MMO's
Western RPG - Fallout: Equestria turned into a game
Japanese RPG - Maybe an Expanded Story of 1st and 2nd episodes with a little more action?
2D or 3D Fighter - I'd have to say a brawl esque game would be very entertaining at the least
RTS - Some Lord of the Rings type Celestia vs Nightmare Moon 2 campaign story anyone?
Shooter - Okay I've got nothing for this one? Maybe Team Fortress Pony? Maybe.
Platformer - The most realistic yet still fairly interesting idea. Give it a good enough story and maybe multiple character story lines and you could count me in.
If any of these games were made, then take my money. All of it. And then split it amongst the lot of you so that all the games could be made.
On a slightly off topic post, that mvc picture looks amazing. I laughed hard when I saw the Chief of the Buffalo and thought M. Bison. (Yes I just looked and know that Bison and Buffalo are not the same)
ReplyDeleteDance Pony Revolution
ReplyDeleteDance pads with 8 FREAKING PANELS per player.
Warning: Only to played by 4 legged creatures.
I prefer a Castle Crashers style Beat Em' Up.
ReplyDeletePlatformer, or rpg, western, or eastern. MMO could be good too but I've never been an mmo fan. I'd give a ponies mmo a shot tho :)
ReplyDeleteI can't believe "point-and-click adventure" isn't on the list. Those are just suggestions, right? Because I'm going with point-and-click adventure.
ReplyDelete@RedEnchilada
ReplyDeleteLike the telltale games or the Lucasarts games right? Count me in!
RTS. Definitely.
ReplyDeleteEither an MMORPG or some kinda building game or a fighting game.
ReplyDeleteAn RTS with Nightmare Moon v. Celestia, with a third campaign involving a dragon invasion of Equestria.
ReplyDeleteI always felt a Zelda-style adventure game would suit the show perfectly. Then again, we already have Okami...
ReplyDeleteI think some sort of a puzzle game would be the easiest to get up and running. I would enjoy that. I think a 2D fighting game has the potential to be something amazing too, and I think it would be on the easier end to get up and going too.
ReplyDeleteThe two types of games that would really get me excited for would be either a music game, with songs from the show, or a MMO. While the MMO I can see being the hardest to get up and running, I would also think this would easily be the one that would get the most people playing. Just the community aspect of it would make it a sure-fire winner.
Japanese RPG
ReplyDeleteOne with multiple endings and a final boss fight against Nightmare Moon or Celestia. It depends on what path you take or what you uncover. Oh, and a new game plus option that allows you to recruit Luna.
I need this to happen!
Please tell me the M.U.G.E.N makers are getting the 2d fighter characters done, I want to see Twilight beat up ryu. And maybe Applejack saying "get over here!" with her lasso.
ReplyDelete
