The first one wasn't really to my taste but I definitely applaud them for going in the direction they did. Very nifty and unique sound. It takes a lot of nerve to try such a new direction and I support them for it and would be interested to hear more from them.
As to the second...It didn't feel all that unique or terribly well done. I think chiptune winter wrapup has been done better previously and far better and speeding it up without really changing anything gave the impression that they felt speed would cover up the lack of change.
*Shrugs* Might be a bit harsh to hear but it's my opinion.
I think this all boils down to the song itself. Winter Warp Up isn't the kind of song you can just stick a new beat in. It's a very delicate song with a very tender nature.
Really, unless your going to redo the entire thing, like eurobeat brony did, you shouldn't even try.
Winter Wrap Up is a delicate song, I agree, but that doesn't mean it is impossible to make a good mix out of it.
The first song had a nice beat, and the synth wasn't obnoxious or too loud. It complimented the song nicely. The new beat makes the song feel more chilled and relaxed, whereas the original song is energetic and uplifting. It's not much, but it is still a welcome change and a song that is definitely going onto my playlist
The second mix sounds choppy in places, things stop abruptly and mess the flow of the song up. The quiet parts are too quiet, and the louder parts turn into ear-rape if you try to hear the quiet parts. It is too fast to fully appreciate, too. It needs work.
Geez you guys are really being overly critical, they sound good, i agree that the second one is too fast and all, but it's not as bad as you all make it seem

I don't really like these ones to be honest.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice..... -_- * fluttershy.jpg *
ReplyDeleteThe first one was good...
ReplyDeleteIt sure is...something!
ReplyDeleteI like something, just not those. 1st had a nice start then, well. Chiptune version seems too fast.
ReplyDeleteI like the first one. Second one...not so much.

They need to be about 20% cooler...

(Perhaps that was a bit harsh)
I like the first one, but ive only really liked remixes with the singing still included, with the eight bit remixes being the noted exception.
ReplyDeleteI liked them both
ReplyDeleteReally liked the first one. Surprised there's so little positive response to these. I wasn't so keen on the second, but I figured somebrony would.

ReplyDeleteThe start of the first one reminded me of Earthbound for some reasons.
ReplyDeleteVery nice. I like these pieces. The first one more then the second.
ReplyDeleteThe first one is really good. The second one...It's okay, just that one part that repeats over and over is sort of off-beat.

Unfortunately I am far too picky with these. Ponies have to get the chord progression right to please me ^^
ReplyDeleteI love when Rainbow Dash sings. :P
