ReplyDeleteAh, thank you Sethisto!
ReplyDeleteI quite like the progression of the queens and how far into the past the history stretches. Cheers all around.
...art credit?
ReplyDeleteI think I have a fair guess as to who Agent X is. That is, if it's not supposed to be obvious.
ReplyDeleteWOW. I can't wait for more (there will be more, right? Please don't abandon us!). I love exploring Equestria's history, and the pithy yet satisfying transmissions of agent X are a perfect device to do so with.
ReplyDelete@Abalidoth No one`s guessed it right yet, so I`d be surprised!
ReplyDelete@Chris Yes, there WILL be more! Working on Report 05 right now, a study on the Parasprites (Or, as Agent X calls them, "Project S.P.R.I.T.E."), and things will really start heating up after that! Thanks for the great feedback!
ReplyDeleteI basically already told you my opinions on the IRC, but I just wanted to elaborate a bit further.
ReplyDeleteWhat draws me to this fic is a few key things.
1. Good writing - this is a big point that if left unchecked, will automatically stop me from reading. You keep things intricate yet simplified. A hint of mystery coupled with interesting reports of discovery.
2. Uniqueness - Despite everyone talking about it, there actually aren't THAT many tyrant Celestia fics, and the few there are are rather disappointing to me. This fic explores the multiple backgrounds and secrets of almost ALL of Equestria's mysteries. I especially liked what you did with Snips and Snails.
3. Explanations - On the topic of your 'exploring mysteries', I quite like how you portray them. Derpy being a brain-zapped former servant of Celestia, Snips and Snails actually being super intelligent, origins on the Elements of Harmony... it's all rather grounded, yet extreme. Hard to explain.
Please continue, and thank you very much for the read.
It's a little exposition heavy for my taste. Reads like a history book.
ReplyDeleteI bloody LOVE this. There are a few touches here and there, like the names of the months (why don't you go google 'em?) and the way that details of Agent X are revealed that just sucks me straight in.
ReplyDeleteChrist, I love it to bits and I can't wait for more.

Thanks for the positive feedback, guys! Glad that you like it!
ReplyDeleteI am, in fact, writing more; Report 05, at the moment, which focuses on the Parasprites (Or Project S.P.R.I.T.E.)!
Also, no one's guessed the right identity of Agent X just yet, so I'm fairly confident my secret will not be revealed until THE FINAL REPORT!
Thanks again, guys!
I'm hoping that it's Angel Bunny
ReplyDeleteNope! Not Angel!
ReplyDelete:D
Hm. Someone other than Twilight who only showed up in town recntly... tough call!
ReplyDelete"Tyrant Celestia just fits"? Horseapples.
ReplyDeleteI will read straight Dash, I will read shallow bitch Rarity, I will even read antagonistic Applejack. But unless it's being done in such an over-the-top way that it's clearly mocking the whole concept, I will not read tyrant Celestia.
@Anonymous Well, if you`re so radically and morally opposed to it, why did you feel the need to leave such a negative and high-and-mighty comment for something that you would never read?
ReplyDelete@Anonymous If you`re so against it, why did you feel the need to leave such a negative comment on something you could have easily just scrolled past?
ReplyDelete@Anonymous If you're so against it, then why did you feel the need to leave such a negative comment on something you could have just ignored?
ReplyDelete@AnonymousIt could be ANYONE... ;)
ReplyDeleteWhenever people talk about these kinds of stories, it's always with a capitalised S and T, Sun Tyrant Celestia. Fanon concepts don't get that kind of label unless they're popular. And this particular story is a damn-well-executed one on that, with alot of small touches and airtight seals on otherwise gaping plot holes.
ReplyDeleteIt begs the question why you deigned to comment _at all_ if all you were going to say is "I WILL NOT READ THIS FIC". No story is for everyone. Why didn't you just shrug, let the people who enjoy these enjoy it, and move on to greener pastures?

I think the most obvious identity of X is Zecora. (She has to adapt to Equestrian culture, speaks a different language.)
ReplyDeleteI know it said that the pony had to arrive no later than four weeks before Twilight, but if there's a month with 46 days in it, there might not be seven days in a week. I don't think we can trust any unit of time longer than a day.
Of course, if the Cheddah said nobody's guessed it right, I doubt it's somepony obvious like Secora.
Not Zecora!
ReplyDeleteTrust me, even if you guess it right, you'll STILL be wrong! >:3
@Cheddah
ReplyDeleteAre we ever going to see any more? What I read was great. :)
The Doctor?
ReplyDeleteScootaloo?
One of the monsters?
