ReplyDeleteI didn't know what to expect when I clicked on the link but...it wasn't that.
ReplyDeleteE-excuse me, I got something in my eyes...
Wunderbar
ReplyDeleteThis was so nicely conceptualized and written, although it was certainly heart-wrenching.
ReplyDeleteI wish this was canon! Very well done
ReplyDeleteNever expected that. I AM NOT CRYING AT ALL ;__;
ReplyDeleteBOBCAT!! Please wont any pony listen! All Coffee is not bitter!!! Some Coffee is quite sweet!!! Americans! Expresso! Turkish Coffee! EVEN SOME DRIPS ARE REALLY GOOD WITHOUT SUGAR/CREAM!
ReplyDeleteI must write or get someone to write a coffee fan fiction!
Now to comment this direct to bobcat somehow!
Very intriguing notion. Yet it seems definitely possible. Very well written too. I approve.
ReplyDelete@Sparton Hoplite
ReplyDeleteI've never come across this non-bitter coffee, personally.
Though, you can just assume that this is Pinkie's taste buds talking here.
Masterful.
ReplyDeleteShort and oh-so bittersweet.
She said she wouldn't tell anyone. But doesn't that imply that someone could find out?
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how you never see Rainbow Dash and Photo Finish in the same scene. She's hiding her wings under a dress and she's wearing a wig and dying her tail white!
ReplyDelete"And losing a friend's trust is the fastest way to lose a friend forever.."

ReplyDeleteYou son of a mare! You just gave me an idea for a (non-shipping)crack fan fic! This will be your fault when it's finished. I hope you're happy!
I certainly am if I inspired it Batty Gloom.
ReplyDeleteAnd of course I'm the son of a mare, being a son of a colt is rather hard to do without magic. People would make fun of me for being said son and call me Colt Born.
This probably could have used a less generic title.
ReplyDeleteBecause it's a TERRIFIC story, and deserves to be noticed.
The new title should be "Not, FOREVER".
ReplyDeleteHoly crap. I had to go back and check, but Purple Pie really DOES look a lot like Photo Finish.
ReplyDeleteThis was a really clever story. I love the names you gave Pinkie's sisters (Achromatic Pie is a great gag) and they're my favored fanon names from now on. Pinkie's behavior is perfectly spot-on as well. She was bouncy and Pinkie-like without going overboard into full-blown randomness or airheadiness.
The part at the end, where Pinkie says she wants Purple Pie to come back someday, got me a little choked up. Great work.
At first i was like o_o
ReplyDeleteBut then i baww'd
Avvvvv!
ReplyDeleteZe story, et ees wunderbar!
awwww, i so sad now...
ReplyDeletegreat story, well written and an interesting take on photo finish.
I disagree about the title "Not Forever" would be a good sequel title. I had a lot of thoughts from this fic. What if Photo Finish just cracked, tired of pretending to be a German fashionista pony? What if a rival found out who she really was and outed her? Why somehow do I image filly Purple Pie and filly Rarity being rivals? At the same time I imagine her and Hotie Totie being friends, arguing about Rarity and Photo Finish breaking character over it?
ReplyDeleteThat was a good read. Can't really say I was emotionally pushed at all but I can see it there, attempting to work.
ReplyDeleteI think it's a good exploration of why Pinkie Pie suddenly was so concerted with keeping friend secrets, even if it wasn't the best idea for her friends. I don't mean to say Pinkie Pie isn't trusting, but the level of obsession with keeping trust that episode WAS always weird, and this is quite a fun explanation here. And something I could see as reasonable.
Bravo.
Quite a well done story. It pushed some of my sad buttons, but it wasn't too much.
ReplyDeleteA little on the [Sad], but very well written nonetheless. Grats on keeping Photo Finish's accent in check; that made the story more authentic.
ReplyDeleteAll and all, great job! 4 stars; you brught my mood down pretty bad, but I wasn't on the verge of tears.
It is just fanon... It is just fanon...
ReplyDeleteI will repeat that to myself to feel better. All Pinkie Pie sisters are fine and they love her a lot... Just like I do.
Totally not what I was expecting, great story!
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteWell the story implied that Purple did love Pinkie and her family a lot, she was just convinced that if anyone found out she grew up on a rock farm he career would be over. Which could mean she didn't have confidence in her career being sustained by her talents alone.
I think the idea that Rarity and Purple where rivals would explain Photo Finish dismissing Rarity's designs and focusing on Fluttershy, if Rarity had been her rival then she wouldn't even bother looking at Rarity's work. Looking at Rarity's work seriously would mean she might have to admit Rarity was the better designer.
It was interestingly made.
ReplyDeleteA happy sad-not-forever mix with professionalism and formalities.
And, somehow, it seems a good idea for ''Photo Finish'' to be related to Pinky Pie... FOREVER!
Holy crap, why does this make so much sense even though it's just fanon? 0:
ReplyDeleteGreat story, it's exceptionally written. :3
Well written with great depth. I love the characterization, and it fits with canon. Job well done.
ReplyDeleteVery nice, very nice. Ending got me snifflin'. I was NOT expecting the premise as I was going into this one.
ReplyDeleteAnd I could totally see Purple Pie growing into Photo Finish as well.
Ahhh... the bitterness of coffee... wait, what?! I thought this was a Photo Finish MLP fic, what does Godot have to do with this?!
ReplyDeleteMmmph... despite that immersion-breaker, it wasn't a bad fic... though I didn't find it terribly sad. Dunno. I guess my heart's been made iron-clad from reading Grimdark...
And then I was teary eyed an sad yet happy to find such a good fic..
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I finally found time to read this, it was a very good read.
