These tests are pretty much about as accurate as horoscopes. People are so complex that they fall into many different categories in different situations and even moods, and that's assuming there's even any rational basis for the four dichotomies (they are based on Jungian psychology, which is largely discredited today).
A fair (if skeptical) look at the MBTI: http://skeptoid.com/episodes/4221
Princess Sethlestia... I KNEW IT WASN'T JUST AN ACT OF SILLINESS! I WAS RIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT~~ Wait, does that test measure your prettiness, too, and are you as pretty as Luna?
I used to work for a company that set great store by Meyers/Briggs inventories. It's got some weaknesses, but overall can give a fairly accurate picture of how you see yourself, and often of how others see you. I got Twilight Sparkle, which is a way more gratifying descriptor than my usual INTP :)
Zecora's fourth value is in error, BTW. She's INFJ, but the explanation lists her as 'perceiving'.
I'm either Zecora or Luna, which is odd because both were considered to be (supposedly) evil.
OH COME ON I WASN'T EVEN REFERENCING MYSELF THAT TIME! Also I'm Luna because someone messed up the Zecora one, but yeah the world proves me to be (supposedly) evil! Oh, just forget it I'm never getting the supposedly off my name.
moderately expressed introvert 33 (acceptable)
moderately expressed intuitive personality 25 (Eh, I thougt I was less questionable then this)
moderately expressed feeling personality 25 (I thought it would be at least a one, I don't feel it)
moderately expressed perceiving personality 56 (WELL THAT ACTUALLY FITS!)
100%, 12%, 62%, 11%. Celestia, and that last bit tends to change depending on the day, so closest leaning to Twilight after that. No matter what, I have stupid amounts of power to throw around. This will not end well when combined with world domination plans involving giant hamsters.
I like to retake online Myers-Briggs tests every couple years, and I've tended to flipflop between INFP and INTP. So I guess I'm what happens when you put Luna and Twilight in a blender and hit frappe.
The INTJ archetype, a.k.a. the mastermind has an essential quality that makes Celestia a poor choice to represent it.
Masterminds are capable but not eager leaders, stepping forward only when it becomes obvious to them that they are the best for the job.
Though I suppose there can be arguments that Celestia is a leader who is not eager to do her job, and that there is no pony else competent enough to do the job, but canon personifies her as enjoying what she does.
Hmm, usually I turn out to be an INTP on these tests. But the 41 question one scored me as an ISTJ. Perhaps the ponies are changing my personality more than I thought.
I remember having my personality taken during a session with my Shrink, I still remember it. INTP, which means I'm Twilight Sparkle... which suits me rather creepily as she's honestly the character that I identify with the most.
Wow a few people are joining me on the dark side against the tyrant celestia's. Welcome to the Luna brigade, we offer free dark powers to manifest for good or (supposedly) evil to use as you please. Also no going sith lightning on people we don't like that.
Another barely-Luna-who-is-close-to-being-Pinkie-Pie. But no matter how many times I take the test in the past, I always come out on the Introverted side, so I'll take my Luna and be happy!
I took the first one and got Twilight, iNTP. Having taken a test like this before on a forum 2-3 years ago, I wasn't surprised I got the same thing. And it matches me perfectly.
I took the other one and was an Individualistic Doer, which is the opposite of what I am mostly.
That second one also had far more confusing questions. For me anyway.
I was hoping I'd get Twilight but I didn't... Oh well, might as well play my role according to the quiz.
THE NIGHT, WILL LAST, FOREVER! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHGUR *cough cough cough* spit.. *cough* caught in my throat ugh.
I knew I was gonna be a Fluttershy before I even saw the comparisons. But yup, according to the results of this test that I took several weeks ago, that's who I compare with.
For every complex problem, there is a solution that is simple, neat and wrong.
That being said, "which character are you?" tests usually fail because the answers are too obvious. At least with Myers-Briggs the questions and answers are so vague that they could apply to anyone, so maybe not as many worries concerning people choosing what they know they want?
Took the test twice to be sure. I'm ISTJ, or Big Macintosh in this case.
I'm not sure when this happened, since I'm pretty sure I was INsomethingsomething the last time I took the jung thinger a few years ago, but hey. I guess I am now who I am.
I tend to score right on the INTJ/INTP borderline in MBTI tests. Generally, though, while the MBTI is better than nothing, it still doesn't really do a great job. It forces me to generalize things about myself that don't exactly generalize well.
The test gave me INFP and that fits me almost perfecly, but then again so does ESTJ. So I guess I'm like Luna if she grew up on a farm and had an accent?
Hmm. Interesting! I'm an MBTI fan, and this is a pretty good match-up!
Although, minor quibble, I would've swapped Luna's INFP with Celestia's INTJ. INTJs would be more the type to plot a kingdom takeover and question established ideals, while INFPs are the type to want to read letters all about friendship and fun adventures that others are having (in the comfort of their own Canterlot castle).
while this is probably not the best place to say it, I would like to point out that there hasn't been a shipping fic uploaded to the site in the last 24 hours. Can we keep this up?
Of course we can keep it up, we are the legion of Derpy fans secretly moonlighting as main cast lovers keeping this site afloat and we're already half way to five million page views in Equestria Daily.
Looks like I'm Fluttershy. Not surprising seeing as I'm pagan. I particularly like the chart, though, because it can be used to better study the differences between the character's personalities and, more specifically, why some ships work so well and some just seem odd.
@Anonymous They're going off of established characters. Derpy and the Doctor haven't really had enough time in the spotlight to really have much to go off of.
Took both tests. I'm between INTJ and ISTJ, though of Celestia and Big Mac, I feel like Big Mac's description fits me better, though looking at both tests, the strengths of all my preferences seem to be fairly low overall.
@l33tsaber Or, you could be their foal from the story "After Mare'de Gras". (Is that the right story?)
Anyway... INTJ. Celestia. I'll be honest, that surprised me. I thought I'd get INTP. (Of course, I've taken this type o test before, and HAVE gotten INTP, so that's why...)
Personally I thought I'd be a Twilight. That's who personally relate with most on the show, despite Rainbow Dash being 20% cooler than all the other ponies.
The test results don't seem to be all that accurate to me. I don't take personality quizzes all that well, but I'll go along with the estimates just for the heck of it.
I'm highly introverted so according to the second test, I'm a mix between Big Mac and Luna.
First test put me ISTJ (100/12/12/22), second put me as INTP (77/33/11/11).
Eeeyup. Take a note, Spike.
From what I can (barely) recall of taking similar tests in the past, the S-N and J-P have varied somewhat but the T has been fairly constant - and the I has DEFINITELY been a constant.
(For what it's worth, I'm a 31-year-old software dev who composes music as a hobby.)
That's hilarious, and this just made my morning, thank you.
I've long known that I'm an INFP - I don't talk a lot, I'm very shy, and I have such dreams that will likely never leave my mind, I spend most of my time there. Dreamer, idealist, yanno... typical INFP. I'm about as typical as you get.
And I've liked Luna since I first saw her. So Luna being marked as the INFP? ... C:
I've got Scootaloo with the first test and Luna with Second. Now I'm confused. Sure I have something from both of them, but this test is kinda not very trustful.
Also - where can I find this chart in a bigger resolution?
I have no doubt that this has been mentioned, but what bugs me is that we have absolutely no idea what kind of personality Luna has, yet we attempt to assign her a position on the chart.
I'm glad you pointed this out, as I was going to put a link to skeptoid as well.
I had to take one of these for a promotion once. They actually thought it was true....it was only years later before I heard the skeptoid podcast on it.
But I got to say, the test is 20% cool (and probably more accurate) with Ponies in it. =)
Another Celestia here. I wanted Twilight. I guess it comes with having over a thousand grey hairs. 8^(
Anyway, I took the second "pro" test first, which gave me a p=24571387, "Independent Thinker". I suppose that corresponds with the introvert, intuitive, thinking and judging percentiles. I didn't see a four letter code, which is a shame because the questions in the second ("pro") test were clearer. My l33t skillz0rs would include Scientist, Professor and Photographer. My peer group includes Arnold Schwarzenegger. awesome. Pony up, Arnie.
Test the first, the one with double-negative logic ('do you not like ice cream?' type questions) gives you a code, mine was INTJ. Celestia. Percentiles: Introvert 78, Intuitive 50, Thinking 62, Judging 44.
The trouble with Myers Briggs is that the first three letters are obvious enough that you can probably just pick them off a chart, and the last one is just complete BS.
Big Mac here, although I was honestly expecting to be Fluttershy. I feel that both their personalities (according to the chart) describe me pretty accurately, so I'm cool either way.
Add another to the Luna society! (Although, under certain circumstances - such as booze - that "I" flips to an "E" and I'm a total Pinkie Pie.) I'm guessing the author of the pic is basing her on her fanon personality.
And yeah, MBTI has more or less been discredited, but who cares? This is fun!

Got Big Macintosh.
ReplyDeleteSeems to fit me rather well.
@Escher
ReplyDeleteOf course- but it's still fun, isn't it?
Also I got Sweetie Belle. Hell yes. That's almost Rarity.
Woah, I'm Luna! :D

ReplyDeleteYeah, these tests are more fun than useful, but still fun, especially with ponies!
ReplyDeleteI'm just barely a Luna, almost a Pinkie Pie. I am okay with this.
Twilight.
ReplyDeleteForget Sethlestia.
Bow to me, or I'll turn you into a cactus.
Pinkie Pie bitches!
ReplyDeleteI got Big Mac. Nice.
ReplyDeleteAnother Luna here. It seems there are a lot of INFP's.
ReplyDeleteThis personality test I did consult.
ReplyDeleteZecora was my result.
I'm either Zecora or Luna, which is odd because both were considered to be (supposedly) evil.

ReplyDeleteApparently Zecora is not Judging.
ReplyDeleteI'm Celestia.
ReplyDeleteAwesome.
Gonna be a *lot* of people in the upper right quadrant, where the introverted/intuitive sorts are found :)
ReplyDeleteYay, I'm Celestia too!
ReplyDeleteNow where is a kingdom I can rule?
I'm Twilight apparently.
ReplyDeleteI got Luna bitch.

That was a huge surprise. I got Celestia.
ReplyDeleteI think I would have expected ANYpony before her. That kind of made my day. :)
I'm Spike...

ReplyDeleteCelestia FTW. Ironically enough, I'd rather have her overthrown and replaced with Luna
ReplyDeleteINTJ Celestia.
ReplyDelete@purpletrauma
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
How do you like them apples?
Took the second test and got INTJ, or Celestia. Normally those tests consider me ENTF, but that's fine.
ReplyDeleteAll shall love me, and despair.
I always seem to bounce between INTP and INTJ. Tbh though I identify most with the twilight description.
ReplyDeleteInb4 everyone is intp
ReplyDeleteAlso got Celestia. n_n It's good to be the princess.
ReplyDeleteI have always been and always will be Twilight Sparkle. I think we could get along swimmingly...
ReplyDeleteI am an INFJ which is Zecora apparently.
ReplyDeleteINTJ Celestia here as well...odd that it is kind of fitting.

ReplyDeleteISTP (Spike) is just a bad day away from becoming a superhero.
ReplyDeletethe first link gave me a Trixie which i don't think is quite me... Then I used the second one to get Fluttershy :3 describes me allot better I think.
ReplyDeleteI ended up as Spike. Huh, surprising.

ReplyDeleteI'm Luna almost Fluttershy.
ReplyDeleteDam a lot of Luna's here...

The second one said I was Big Mac

Hey Seth, I got Celestia too.
ReplyDeleteWe're Briggs-buddies!
So I'm the only ESTP so far? It's lonely being Rainbow Dash.
ReplyDeleteI take issue with Twilight being INTP. She seems way to organized and into structuring the external world to be INTP. She comes off as much more INTJ.
ReplyDeleteI also think AJ may be ISTJ, but I'm not sure.
ESTP for dash, ENFP for Pinkie, and ENFJ for Rarity are spot-on.
This is still cool. According to this typing I'm Celestia by the way. : D
INFP Luna for great justice :)
ReplyDelete@achesst
ReplyDeleteYeah, being 20% cooler than everyone can be lonely. Here's yet another Twilight Sparkle checking in!
I got Celestia. Apt.
ReplyDeleteI got Zecora.
ReplyDeleteStrange kind of aura.

ReplyDeleteEek, thanks for pointing that out! I'll get right on that!

ReplyDeleteI got to say, each time I take one of these test, It's the same every time.

ReplyDeleteAccording to the test, I'm Zecora. Though, I would rate myself as Fluttershy with a little bit of Bic Macintosh.
ReplyDeleteINTJ-Celestia master race reporting in.
ReplyDeleteSo... where do I get to rule over?
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteYour own mind.
The test gave me INFP and that fits me almost perfecly, but then again so does ESTJ. So I guess I'm like Luna if she grew up on a farm and had an accent?
ReplyDeleteI got Spike. Dangit, I wanted Luna...
ReplyDeleteOh, well. I guess an inevitable future with Rarity is okay.
Hmm. Interesting! I'm an MBTI fan, and this is a pretty good match-up!
ReplyDeleteAlthough, minor quibble, I would've swapped Luna's INFP with Celestia's INTJ. Damn I got celestia. Well it's true enough I suppose.
ReplyDeleteI got Big Mac/Fluttershy.
ReplyDeleteI'm fine with that.
Hmm, the first test says I'm Princess Celestia, and the second says I'm Applejack. Personally, I think I'm more like Big Mac, even though I'm female.
ReplyDelete@Display Name *Extends hoof in acceptance*
ReplyDeleteFirst test gave me Rainbow Dash. AWESOME.
ReplyDeleteI always said I was Rainbow Dash.
The second link gave me 'analytical thinker'.

ReplyDeleteI am ok with this.
Luna here. Yeah.
ReplyDeleteI got Celestia. Figures. No wonder I'm in love with Luna.
ReplyDeleteI got two two results from two different tests... one said Luna, and the other one said Fluttershy... either one's fine...
ReplyDeletewhile this is probably not the best place to say it, I would like to point out that there hasn't been a shipping fic uploaded to the site in the last 24 hours. Can we keep this up?

ReplyDeletelol I got Twilight. XD makes sense

ReplyDeleteDerpy? She's a DERP, of course.
Luna! that makes me happy <3

I AM CELESTIAAAAAA
Looks like I'm Fluttershy. Not surprising seeing as I'm pagan. I particularly like the chart, though, because it can be used to better study the differences between the character's personalities and, more specifically, why some ships work so well and some just seem odd.
ReplyDeleteNononono, having Pinkie Pie anything besides ESFP is absurd.
ReplyDeletePinkie Pie: ESFP
Rarity: ESFJ
Celestia: probably ENFJ
The problem I have with these kinds of charts is that they go out of their way to pigeonhole a different type for every character.
that said, I agreed with Zekora and Rainbow Dash's typings.
/srs business
I got Spike. I see myself as this, mixed in with Fluttershy whenever I'm in public and meeting new people.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteAnd of course, less than an hour after saying this, two new shipping stories hit the front page.

ReplyDeleteI, too, got Celestia. Bow before us!
ReplyDeleteI'm either Celestia or Twilight Sparkle. I guess that goes along with all the reading and studying I do...
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteThey're going off of established characters.
ReplyDeleteThe second personality quiz is beyond ridiculous, and the grammar needs some serious work on it.
ReplyDelete@l33tsaber Or, you could be their foal from the story "After Mare'de Gras". (Is that the right story?)
ReplyDeleteAnyway... INTJ. Celestia. I'll be honest, that surprised me. I thought I'd get INTP. (Of course, I've taken this type o test before, and HAVE gotten INTP, so that's why...)

It pleases me to no end that I came up as Luna. All hail the Princess of the Moon!
ReplyDeleteAlso, just fun comparing the ponies, and seeing how just one changed facet separates some of the duos.
The test results don't seem to be all that accurate to me. I don't take personality quizzes all that well, but I'll go along with the estimates just for the heck of it.

ReplyDeleteI've long known that I'm an INFP - I don't talk a lot, I'm very shy, and I have such dreams that will likely never leave my mind, I spend most of my time there. Dreamer, idealist, yanno... typical INFP. I'm about as typical as you get.
And I've liked Luna since I first saw her. So Luna being marked as the INFP? ... C:
No, *I'm* Celestia. Bow to me!
ReplyDeleteI'm Celestia as well.
ReplyDeleteI've got Scootaloo with the first test and Luna with Second. Now I'm confused. Sure I have something from both of them, but this test is kinda not very trustful.
ReplyDeleteAlso - where can I find this chart in a bigger resolution?
im rarity
ReplyDeleteENTJ. Nothing can match the Great and Powerful Trixie!
ReplyDeleteAnother Celestia here ;D
ReplyDeleteINTP - Twilight. Why am I not surprised? :)
ReplyDeleteFluttershy here, aint complaining.
ReplyDeleteI'm a Twilight Sparkle, which sounds about right.
ReplyDeleteI have no doubt that this has been mentioned, but what bugs me is that we have absolutely no idea what kind of personality Luna has, yet we attempt to assign her a position on the chart.
I'm Celestia.
ReplyDeleteThe second test lists people with similar results to mine as 6 American presidents and Queen Elizabeth II.
ReplyDeleteSecond test marks me as INTJ Celestia (which I already knew, done that one before).
I am destined to rule the world.
I needed a reason to procrastinate the shit out of my todo-list so i summarized the answers (excluded the ones who mentioned more than one character):
ReplyDeleteCelestia: 31
Luna: 22
Twilight: 19
BigMac:9
Sweetie Belle: 5
Spike: 6
Fluttershy: 6
Zecroa: 5
Trixie: 4
Apple Jack: 3
Pinkie Pie: 3
Rarity: 3
Applebloom: 2
Scootaloo: 2
Rainbow Dash: 2
So... eventhough this fandom consists mainly of ~20 year old males who are madly in love with Dash, we are all princesses... kinda funny
I wound up as Celestia.. I figured I'd wind up as Twilight, but, that seems accurate too.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous i'm fluttershy sometimes,at night-time a mix of twilight and luna, and most of the time pinkie.
ReplyDelete@marianne actually,now that i think of it,i'm...ANOTHER luna.
ReplyDeletesomehow i got spike :D but most of my answers seemed fluttershy based :S.
ReplyDeleteLooked at the chart and guessed I'd be iNTP.
ReplyDeleteTook the test and got iNTP.
Got Twilight, unsurprisingly.
apparently I'm Celestia. I'm not sure if that's good or bad!
ReplyDelete@Escher
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you pointed this out, as I was going to put a link to skeptoid as well.
I had to take one of these for a promotion once. They actually thought it was true....it was only years later before I heard the skeptoid podcast on it.
But I got to say, the test is 20% cool (and probably more accurate) with Ponies in it. =)
this is awesome!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I am a mix between Luna and Twilight. ME GUSTA. I've always sympathized with them the most! ^^
TRIXIE :D
ReplyDeleteBoth tests said I'm Pinkie Pie.
ReplyDeletePARTY.
Zecora, borderlining on Luna. (Just a notch to the left on the J/P scale.)
ReplyDelete"With just one bottle of this bubbling brew, I can paint the sky in midnight blue!"
Another Celestia here. I wanted Twilight. I guess it comes with having over a thousand grey hairs. 8^(
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I took the second "pro" test first, which gave me a p=24571387, "Independent Thinker".
ReplyDeleteYet another Luna here!
ReplyDeleteBig Mac here, although I was honestly expecting to be Fluttershy. I feel that both their personalities (according to the chart) describe me pretty accurately, so I'm cool either way.
ReplyDeleteTried the above two, as well as another one I found, and I'm INFP, for asll 3! Luna all the way!
ReplyDeleteHigh five to all the other INFP Lunas here! o/
ReplyDeleteSo far out of all the comments I've read I am the only one who got ESFJ (Cheerilee)
ReplyDeleteI guess no one wants to be a teacher.
I got Celestia/Big Mac. My wife got Cheerilee/Pinkie Pie.
ReplyDeleteCool.
I got Rarity! =O
ReplyDeleteLuna :D
ReplyDeleteRarity FTW!!!
ReplyDeleteSPIIIIIKKKKEEE
ReplyDeleteI'm Fluttershy.
ReplyDeleteGot Twilight from the first link, Spike on the second.
ReplyDeleteI am okay with this.
Add another to the Luna society! (Although, under certain circumstances - such as booze - that "I" flips to an "E" and I'm a total Pinkie Pie.) I'm guessing the author of the pic is basing her on her fanon personality.
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, MBTI has more or less been discredited, but who cares? This is fun!
I got Spike. Hell yes.
ReplyDeleteActually it's pretty fitting.
pinkie pie
ReplyDeleteTook both tests and twice got Pinkie Pie! Woohoo!
