ReplyDeleteI agree with the first anon. If you're a regular listener to The Offspring, this sounds a tad strange. I guess I could see that voice coming from Dash, but it's a stretch. Still, I love The Offspring and I love ponies, so this is alright by my book.

I'm not sure why, but I've always loved the line "Dance, f*cker, dance". This just makes it better. Two thumbs, way up!

Hmm...The voice is actually pretty close to what Dash would sound like, but I can't place just what's wrong about it...I think it's a bit nasally. Either way, surprisingly close.

ReplyDeleteAm I the only one getting tired of every damn video using the rainboom sequence? I mean, I know it's the most epic scene ever in the show, and I don't object to it when really appropriate -- like in that Firework video -- but it seems kinda lazy given that it otherwise doesn't really ever match the lyrics or anything. It's just filling time.

Huh, well the general concensus seems to be that it doesn't really work, but I personally can't stop replaying this. My first thought was that Dash isn't singing, but is using the song as training music -- I think it works really well from that angle.

I felt the end of the video got a little on the lazy side, the scene transitions were awesome in the beginning, but then it just stuck to the rainboom part, other then that though it gets a thumbs up :P

ReplyDeletehmm... I don't really hear the similarity. The Offspring pitched and sped up just makes them sound like chipmunks. Dash, on the other hand, has always had more of a husky sounding voice to me.

ReplyDeleteThat little pitch tweak really does make it sound like Dash! Hilariously awesome! Although, it kinda messes with the music a little being high-pitched. Everything seems faster too. And now I'm fussing in Audacity even though I have no clue what I'm doing..
