The auction for the hand-drawn Derpy Hooves from Lauren Faust has finally begun! So far it looks like she is already exceeding 1825 bucks...which is nuts considering the auction still has 6 days left!
As was mentioned in previous posts, all proceeds are going to the Give2Asia Charity. I have a feeling it's going to be huge by the end.
You can find a link to the auction below!

I was outbid ... TWICE! Someone better beat that a***r mutha farker!
ReplyDeletei think it's important to note it's officially listed as "Derpy Hooves".
ReplyDeleteOMG OMG OMG OMG OMG.
ReplyDeleteI have no money to get this piece of art.
300 USD are way to much for me!
We bronies are really crazy.
Dang, I was only going to bid 2 hundred for it.
ReplyDeleteBet it goes over five hundred.
ReplyDeleteWhat the... it just went up by 200, in the time it took for me to read the comments !
ReplyDeleteI bet it will sell for around 3000$.
ReplyDeleteI have a pretty penny I could drop on this, but $300 already?! Living expenses/emergency fund or Pony Art... this is going to be harder than I thought.
ReplyDeleteThree thousands a good number, but who would have that kind of money for a drawing? Maybe a pony hating Billionaire?
ReplyDeleteA pony loving Billionaire.
ReplyDeleteMan, I wish I had the kind of money to bid on stuff! Well, technically I do but I'm on borrowed funds so to speak, so I got to be mature about this kind of stuff.
ReplyDeleteGo Derpy Hooves! Raise that charity money!
$510 dollars so far; I wonder how high it will go?
(Seriously, though, Derpy Hooves listed in the auction? Could this mean that might be her actual name if she's brought into the show proper?)
Good God look at those two guys fighting over it!
ReplyDeletewow really..? Christ I wouldn't even pay 50 bucks for it, not that it isn't nice.. but I mean I can look at it right now... hell I could print off a copy if I really wanted.. I guess it's to a good cause, I wish I could throw my money around like that..
ReplyDeleteCheck out the other Give2Asia entries, their bids aren't even exceed 100$ at the moment.
ReplyDelete$560.00
ReplyDeleteWow.
1:42 there are two reasons to bid on it.
ReplyDelete1. Your an extreme Derpy fan.
2. ?????
3. Derp.
I WANTS ME A DERPY!!!!
ReplyDeletea***r and 2***u are really determined.
ReplyDeleteCurrently in the lead. Who are you, other brony that's always bidding in increments of $50? I hate you. :p
ReplyDelete760$ Some die hard fans are putting any other character auction that don't seem to exist to shame.
ReplyDeleteIf it was a auction to own the rights to said character I would put the force of the earth behind winning that auction. Because millions of dollars will be spent to make sure Derpy exists in all forms of media.
760$... Holy Moly that's a lot of mony!!
ReplyDeleteThat would be me HAHAHAHAHA I WANTS ME A DERPY!
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteAre you 2***u or a***r. Nice bidding duel you've got there.
Come at me, brony. Let's see how ridiculously high we can get this thing together before one of us gives up.
ReplyDeleteHe's got to be a***r as I have a 2 and a U in my ebay name.
ReplyDeleteWait, vice versa; it's the other way around. Derp. derpyyyyyyyyy
ReplyDeleteI have a nice tax return coming hehehehe and the money I saved wile deployed to Qatar. (I think I am a***r)
ReplyDelete810$ now. Derpy if you were the only pegasus in all of existence you would be pampered beyond belief by everyone and their grandma.
ReplyDeleteWe'd also figure out a way to clone you from normal ponies and horse, we almost have the technology for it.
(It probably went up to 900 and beyond by the time I post this)
Deployed? Are you in the military?
ReplyDeleteThe sad part is I could see us both geting sniped right at the last minute :(
ReplyDeleteWas, not anymore, wasn't for me but I did my duty, went all over the world...meh Indiana is better
ReplyDeleteWhen I win I'll be sure to send you a photo copy of it Muhahahahahahaha! lol
ReplyDeleteDoesn't bother me if I get beat by a Hoosier. Wyoming brony here, man(one of like 3 total). I just beat your bid again.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't be surprised if we got sniped either given how wide the fanbase is. Somepony rich has gotta be watching and biding their time.
You are a***r. I'm 2***u or w/e.
Good luck
rann
This simple event has given me so much hope for the future of humanity.
ReplyDeleteCelestia bless all of you.
This does not bode well for other auctions
ReplyDelete6 days left and we are already nearing 1000$. Do you think it will be on the news if it's sells for an atrociously humongous price?
ReplyDeleteHow come everything pony related is amazing?
I hope these guys are serious birders. Would suck if they were just horsing around.
ReplyDeleteThis is SO GREAT.
ReplyDeleteDerpy's a hit and (MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH more importanly) money for a good cause!
$930. Ah. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
ReplyDeleteDamn it a***r/crazyredemu. How am I gonna eat for the next month?
rann
Er, bidders. Serious bidders. Damn iPad auto spell check
ReplyDeleteIt'd be ponying around I am as serious as Twilight is about studying!!!
ReplyDeleteI wonder what Lauren will say when she sees this.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteI'm completely serious. My savings account has been emptied into Paypal.
rann
This is actually exciting to watch for some reason. Over the next six days the bids will probably slow down until the very end and then bam the sniper gets a improbable quadruple headshot in Team Fortress 2.
ReplyDeleteWhat were we talking about again? Just so you realize no matter who wins someone loses a lot of money and a charity is made happier because of Derpy Muffin Hooves. Yes I just added Muffin as a middle name for her.
I doubt very seriously it'll go for more much more than 1000 bucks. They've already slowed down and reduced their war from 50 buck increments to 20
ReplyDeleteI'm ready in case it does go over a thousand.
ReplyDeleteTime for a cigarette. I expect a new bid when I come back, brony.
rann
Tactical retreat.
ReplyDeleteI need to find a brony that's smoking and knock him out for the next 6 days and 18 hours! No time to ask any one smoking is a target! HAMMER TIME!
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteWith any luck, it'll be "Well, looks like I have to make Derpy the 7th main character now in second 2 and onwards."
Seriously, we f**king love Derpy Hooves.
You guys are amazing! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI wonder how the winged Pinkie will go when it comes to bidding.
ReplyDelete@crazyredemu
ReplyDeleteOld dirt road.
Gillette, Wyoming.
Newport 100's and an iPod G4 playing ep. 23.
Let's do this.
rann
Wow. I really hope those two people in that bidding war are just really generous instead of just being really sad.
ReplyDeleteI'm also gonna lul when some first time bidder waits until the last second to sneak a bid under their asses and win the thing. haha.
Generous?!? HELL NO! Im a sad sack of pony loving weirdo basement dwelling man-child!!!
ReplyDeleteSad?
ReplyDeleteIf I had 1000s of dollars to blow on a drawing without repercussions I would be pretty happy.
Whoever wins has to frame this and out it next to the us constitution in Washington d.c. Just to ensure it stays safe :)
ReplyDeleteSeth, can I request a running tally? When you first posted these, you put up $200, now it's at $800 (no doubt due to it being posted here), so when you update the post, can you put what the previous amount you had listed was?
ReplyDeleteThis post would probably warrant being stickied at the top or having a small link of 'watch what Derpy Hooves is going for' until the auction is over.
I think it should be displayed in the Louvre.
ReplyDeleteI'd hardly survive a thousand bucks to the face from a pony(Applejack comes to mind) much less bidding that much.
ReplyDeleteThe two bidders are bidding for Derpy's affection! This can only end in tears.
I spent over 2000 to complete my Beast Wars collection (only toys from the show)
ReplyDeleteIf it puts any of you to ease Im not bidding on any of the others (unless I lose this one)
ReplyDeleteIt won't go over 1000. Look it's slowed to a trickle
ReplyDeleteWow, this has gone from $300 at 1:08 am (when Seth posted this) to $970 in the space of an hour and a half. I have no doubt that this is mostly due to ED. This a***r person must have set a very high bar though, they're consistently outbidding.
ReplyDeleteHell, this is gonna crack $1000 within the six hours it was posted from by the looks of it.
Awesome!
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDelete6 more days. I wouldn't be surprised if this breaks $2k.
rann
This is gonna break the $1000 mark while I go off to have dinner. Dammit, I wanted to see that.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, good luck guys, and for my two cents, I'm pretty sure it's only labelled as 'Derpy Hooves' because this is a sketch of the one with the animation error eyes. If it had normal eyes, I'm sure it would be being sold as Ditzy Doo.
$990!
ReplyDeleteBehold the power of Derpy.
Aw come on guys just 10 more dollars, let it hit a 1000 so I can celebrate.
ReplyDeleteFor the record: http://img834.imageshack.us/img834/4555/aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad.png
ReplyDeleteThis isn't current but it's close enough.
rann
You bid then mister 10 more dollars! lol
ReplyDelete800% ? Holy mother of corn! Derp is expensive this days.
ReplyDeletewell, At least it's for helping stuff.
Derpy truly is mighty!
ReplyDeleteAnd for those that wanted to see it: http://img17.imageshack.us/img17/1205/auction2c.png
ReplyDeleterann
@Lupinator Doesn't matter, it's the winner's loss really. It's still charity, somewhat.
ReplyDelete$1125! Holy christ, I was expecting $500 at the end of this thing.
ReplyDeleteIt will sell for 5000$
ReplyDeleteWell Im off to bed, I am just not going to look at it until the last day and then bid like a mad man!
ReplyDeleteThis is getting nuts, don't go over 2000 or bob barker will be wrong.
ReplyDeleteI think that's my gameplan too. Maybe we'll get more competitors in the meantime. See you then.
ReplyDeleterann
Only ships to the U.S.?
ReplyDelete;___;
Wow, hit $1000 then started jumping in 50's again. I'm sad to see the two mains retiring for the next 6 days, but that may give some others a chance to win it if they forget XD
ReplyDeleteSeriously though, $1200 in under 6 hours, Ms. Faust must be loving this.
$1,200!
ReplyDeleteMove over, Trixie, Derpy is the Great and Powerful one here!
I see that bid.
ReplyDeleteGO TO BED CRAZYREDEMU
GAWD
rann
HAHA! I right clicked and saved image!
ReplyDeleteU JELLY?
Also, for those interested, this went up by 1633% in the six hours since it was posted (the last bid being exactly on the 6 hour mark).
ReplyDeleteGoddamn ponies, they drive people to spend huge amounts on drawings.
Fighting to be the top bidder on the first day of a seven day auction does seem a bit... silly.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteIt would have saved us money to hold back on it, sure, but the more money for Japan the better. That's the whole point.
rann
$1225 already? Well done, bronies. Make Derpy proud . . .
ReplyDelete"Who's the mare that can walk on a storm cloud?"
ReplyDelete"Turn a frown into a smile for free?"
"Who's the mare with a heart full of magic?"
"Everypony knows it's Derpy!"
"That's Me!"
"Who's the mare with eyes full of wonder?"
"Who’s never late when delivering Ponyville’s mail?"
"Who's that filly with the muffins in her saddle?"
"Everyone knows it's Derpy!"
"That's Me!"
"Rolling in the hay." "Flying through the rainbows."
"Always hanging out with her friends." "She has Derpy Eyes."
"LAZY eyes you-!"
"Who's the little mare with the cutest little smiles?"
"Batting her eyes at every pony she sees?"
"If you look inside yourself you might be surprised to see,"
"A little mare named Derpy!"
"That's Me! *Giggle*."
Good thing I can draw for myself.
ReplyDeleteBut, yay money for a good cause.
The only thing I know for certain is that we have to get some kind of reaction comment from Lauren Faust when all is said and done. Even though I can already guess what nice words she has to say, I still would like to hear it.
ReplyDeleteIt's still got a ways to go, and the price is already incredible.
Well on one hand I am disappointed @ no derpy for me, but on the other hand, I wont have to eat ramen for a month @_@
ReplyDeleteMaybe Pinky wont go as high *crosses fingers*
HA HA HA, OH WOW.
ReplyDelete$1225 IS OUTRAGEOUS, EVEN FOR DERPY HOOVES.
I HOPE THE PERSON WHO GETS IT THINKS IT WAS WORTH THE COST
CAPS LOCK
Wow, that's a lot of love for Derpy. The winner better take good care of her.
ReplyDeleteWell, it just goes to show how seriously devoted we fans are. Nothing sad about being passionate about something.
ReplyDeleteThe winner will have to SMILE FOREEEVER OuO
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteIt's about more than Derpy. The money goes to charity for Japan, remember?
Holy Guacamole Batman that's already an insane amount of money ! I really hope that in the end it goes to a serious buyer who is going to pay that amount.
ReplyDeleteCharity auctions.
ReplyDeleteIt's all about finding the right thing to sell to the right group of people.
And, Ye Gods! Has the sweet spot been struck, or what?
Winner deserves a big thank you note from Lauren Faust, and a giant hug from the people in Japan.
Right now? I'm damn proud to be a brony.
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, forgot about that.
Heheh, I will pride myself on being the first bid x3
ReplyDeleteWouldn't be a lottery better? Everypony would have the same probability to get the art. If everypony donated $10 or so the sum would be over 9000!!!!!! Just sayan.
ReplyDeleteSome rich guy will come out of nowhere and surely buy that!
ReplyDelete@BronieBrown
ReplyDeleteThat's a helluva good idea. It doesn't exclude people who can't bid $1225. I admit I feel bad about the auction getting out of reach for other people(CPUSA ftw), but then I remember that whichever of us wins, Japan wins too.
I'm also pretty sure it would raise more money. I wish the idea had sprung up earlier but it seems to be too late now.
It's still a possibility for the winner to run a raffle/lottery.
rann
I hope the person who buy it scan it in a good resolution and post it

ReplyDeleteOnce upon a time a wise man said:
Shut up and take my money!
There comes a time in everyones life where an important decision comes up.
ReplyDeleteWhich is more important. My car, or a signed picture of Derpy Hooves?
~Scratch
@Anonymous Cars come and go, but Derpy is forever.
ReplyDelete@Sandman
ReplyDeleteI see what you did there...
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteDerpy is a brony's best friend.
Wake up, increase max bid, MFW I realize Im still highest bider
ReplyDelete@crazyredemu
ReplyDeleteWow, congrats fellow brony! Think if it reaches a point Lauren might color it for you, even?
I just WOULD have to be buying a house now, wouldn't I?
ReplyDeleteIf this were only a few months from now, I'd SO have that Derpy!
Hopefully the Applejack won't go for quite so much (so that I can buy it).
But the worst part is that AFTER THESE SKETCHES ARE GONE, THEY'LL NEVER LET THEM GO AGAIN! I'LL NEVER GET ANOTHER CHANCE! AAAAAAARRRRRRGGG!
More money for Japan!
ReplyDeleteLet's get this ball rolling again, brony.
rann
1350! Holy shit, your guys are really awesome!
ReplyDeleteAll hail the bidders!
Wow wow..oh my god. Im so glad i do my own arts.
ReplyDeleteThis is already more than the 1900s gold bullion coin i paid for last month.
Salutes*
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteHey now, you don't know that. I think it's entirely possible that the winners of the auctions may do a lottery with them or something to raise even more money for japan.
Not I! It's going on my wall, and I want it buried with me when I die!!!
ReplyDelete@crazyredemu Thats the spirit!
ReplyDelete@crazyredemuProof that you can take it with you when you die.
ReplyDeleteAnd for any of you thinking about grave robbing, Im going to be cremated...I will be one with the Derpy FOREVER!!!
ReplyDeleteIf this was an apartment, it'd be one of the most expensive ones in history.
ReplyDeleteWolframAlpha says: HK$10666.40 per square foot (Hong Kong dollars per foot squared) (at current quoted rate)
10,666.40 CNY = 1,633.04 USD
ReplyDeleteChinese Yuan Renminbi US Dollar
1 CNY = 0.153102 USD 1 USD = 6.53161 CNY
So, 1,633.04 USD per sq. ft. for this awesome piece of paper and graphite created by our Lord and Saviour, Lauren Faust, the Beneficent, the Merciful. Thee do we worship and thee do we beseech for help.
emu, I want to buy you a beer(but only if you stop bidding!).
rann
Sorry I don't drink...or smoke...or do much of anything, that's why I have so much money, plus I already eat ramen all the time, but it's ramen I steal from my parents when Im at their house. Muhahahahaha!
ReplyDeleteAnd Lauren Faust just sent me a comment on DA........SQUEEEEEEEEE! My life now has meaning! My existence has been verified! I feeling like singing, TIME FOR A PONY SONG MARATHON!!!
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping she replies to me too.
ReplyDeleteGet set, bronies, we're breaking the $1400 barrier.
rann
And now $1500 if things are as usual.
ReplyDeleteOkay, man, I maxed out. If you can get past my new max bid, you've got me beat unless they'll let me use multiple payment methods.
ReplyDeleterann
EIGHTEEN HUNDRED
ReplyDeleterann
DANG! what did you put on it?!? 2000? crap...hmmmmm I wonder if I could get a loan from the bank
ReplyDeleteHere's my last bid unless they'll let me dig into BillMeLater.
ReplyDeleteI concede.
ReplyDeleteWell, that was fun! Good luck, emu!
rann
1850$ how is this even posibble?
ReplyDeleteI swear to God if a year ago someone would have told me that a sketch of a wall-eye pegasus from My Little Pony would sell for 2000$ I would have laughed for a whole week.
What the hay! 0.o
ReplyDelete*checks his saddlebags to see how much oats he can spare*
Dude... They can always mine more Gold. And the price of Gold always drops when the world calms down.
ReplyDeleteThere will never be another Laurens first Derpy.
The history of the piece as a Fan made character drawn by the shows creator and auctioned to charity in response to the largest earthquake ever recorded, means that this piece will remain relevant and interesting for your entire lifetime.
Also it's more portable then an equal value of Gold.
I made a nerdy rap video that's 8 seconds long about this auction
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k92nw-4ZpTw
hahahahahahahahahahaha
ReplyDeleteEver have anyone give you crap about your choice of apparel?
rann
Pinkie Pie goes up for auction tonight
ReplyDelete@crazyredemu "..I'll have Derpy on my wall!"
ReplyDeleteI really hope you don't put it just on the wall, it must be preserved!
I'll put it in a frame! geez you think I'd spend that much and just stick it on the wall with tape?!?
ReplyDelete$1875...I think the auction is capped at this point.
ReplyDelete@Batty Gloom
ReplyDeleteTHere are still 6 days left...
Crazyredemu, if I may ask, how are you getting the money for this?
ReplyDeleteI already answered above, but it's from the money I saved wile I was deployed to Qatar, also my tax return, if it wasn't for my tax return I'd of stopped at 1000
ReplyDeleteDo you think the others will go for as much?
ReplyDeleteThat depends on who's bidding. I haven't decided yet if I'm going to bid again on the other 3, but if I do it's going to get p. high stakes. If I win an auction, I'm going to do the most FRIENDSHIP thing I can and put it back up for more charity dollars, just like Metacritter. I wanted to say that now before I could change my mind like a selfish bastard. Hold me to it.
ReplyDeleteAs far as the auction being capped, it is, at least temporarily. Don't forget about the possibility of someone sniping the auction at the last second. emu, I'd recommend increasing your max bid just in case.
Congratulations again to emu. I'll be having a Bitch Creek(gotta love Wyoming) FSB beer later tonight in your honor as I cry over the loss of Derpy.
derpy... nooo...
Nah, really, I'm happy for you, man. Your youtube vid above tells me you're going to enjoy the drawing a lot more than I would have. I'm a much bigger Rainbow Dash fan.
rann
I sold my entire collection of stuff for one of these auctions ._. and even then it didn't reach what Derpy is at now..why do I feel I sold it all and still have zero chance...
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteYou do still have a chance. Which sketch are you going for?
Chances are it won't fetch as much as Derpy. My competitor and I are just nuts, that's all. :p
rann
I'd prefer to keep it secret but if you have aim or msn I could tell you privately XD
ReplyDeleteAt some point we'll find out that the Derpy sketch is the final component to some kind of muffin ray.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteWould Steam work? I'm RPRannoch on there if you want to add me.
I don't have AIM or MSN.
I wanted to know so I could choose not to bid on the pony you're going for.
rann
Ok I'm on Steam but I can't figure out how to add people on it, I haven't used it before. AubadePrism is my steam account name if you wanna add me ^^
ReplyDeleteAdded you. I'll talk to you shortly. I've just gotta get out of this chair for a few.
ReplyDeleteIt says functions will be available when you have games in your Steam account. I have Spacewar and Moonbase Alpha...
ReplyDeleteI wish I was rich like that X_X
ReplyDeleteYou're going to have to buy or receive a game. I'll help you with that here in a bit. I just have a few things to do first. Remember, we have over a week left to get this sorted out, so don't sweat it.
ReplyDeleterann
I got on :3 Bought a cheap game to unlock it. A well spent £1 haha
ReplyDeletemost expensive piece of fan-art ever...
ReplyDelete@Anonymous:
ReplyDelete>Winner deserves a big thank you note from Lauren Faust, and a giant hug from the people in Japan.
The thank-you note will, of course, be delivered by Derpy.
The box full of friendly Japanese people might be a bit difficult to fit in the mailbox though.
...In the doggy door it goes!
@Other anonymous:
ReplyDelete>most expensive piece of fan-art ever...
Except it's not fanart, it's OFFICIAL art.
Noticed that there are some pretty hefty fees attached to the eBay charity thing.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.ebaygivingworks.com/about-donationamount.html#deductions
Let's say the final price remains at $1875... then $523.75 of that cash would go to MissionFish, not Japan. "20% of the initial $49.99 donated ($10) + 15% of the initial $50-$199.99 donated ($32.50) + 10% of initial $200-$999.99 ($112.50) + 5% of remaining donation".
But actually "only" $375 because there's that part about a max of 20% ("MissionFish will never deduct more than 20% of any donation.). Still, quite the ripoff.
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteArgh, I should have double-checked that math. Fees would be $181.25. I multiplied 1875 x 3%, but that was not correct (should have been $875.01 x 3%). Still a lot, but not as much as I originally claimed.
1925. A challenger appears!
ReplyDeleteYeah, thats me^. Call me crazy, but I wouldn't have given it a second thought if this wasn't for a good cause. Members in my military unit got short term deployed to Japan for relief efforts. I wanted to go, but hey, this is the next best thing in my book. Don't think I'll win though, 6 days left and there has to be someone more eccentric then me.
ReplyDeleteWow, the price is incredible! It's kind of a good thing it isn't Luna because I would sell my soul for her!
ReplyDeleteI...I've been outbid...and Im at my limit. Im sorry Derpy I've failed you, we could of been something you and I but alas your going to a guy with more money, isn't that always the way *sniff*
ReplyDeleteTo save my honor I shall throw myself upon my sword! Goodbye cruel world!
N-N-N-N-NEW CHALLENGER.
ReplyDelete...Which I wish was me...
Seriously, I could outbid to about double the amount it's at now, but the fact that it's only going to people in the U.S. is heartbreaking. I wanted me my Pinkie Pie. ;__;
WAIT!!!! I can still bid on Pinkie Pie MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Crazyredemu, much like the phenix, rises again!!!!
ReplyDelete-_- and now I feel my selling my stuff will be for no point...
ReplyDeleteEven though I sold everything I can't compete with someone that has 2 grand T_T
ReplyDeleteI was gonna say "A New Challenger Appears!" but you guys beat me to it. Oh wait, I just said it anyway. Hmmmmm . . .
ReplyDeleteI wonder how high Derpy can fly?
Ok people are guilting me into not bidding on Pinkie...tell you what I will leave it alone but if it goes over what you can pay let me know and I'll crush the dreams of whom ever does have the high bid.
ReplyDeleteMaybe, I might loose control when I see it, like I did with Derpy...starting bid 1000! lol kidding!
"How high Derpy can fly?" you ask, To the moon baby, TO THE MOON!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if I can trust a brony in the U.S. with my money to bid on the Pinkie Pie sketch for me...
ReplyDeleteThen again, they may just keep it...
Damn it all, I want it so bad.
As much as you'd sell off everything just to try for it? Because that's what I did..
ReplyDeleteMetacritter says it can be shipped internationaly in this thread
ReplyDeletehttp://www.ponychan.net/chan/oat/res/2310471.html
@chinlamp
ReplyDeleteHere's the word on INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING:
I just spoke to Chris at Q POP and he says he WILL ship internationally. It will likely cost a bit more to ship, but he will work out details with you.
If there are any problems (like you're blocked from bidding or something... this shouldn't happen) let him know immediately!
Good luck!
Oh, and by the way,
ReplyDeletecrazyredemu, rann, and now Bobbyzero: You all are crazy wonderful. Thanks so much for jumping in like you did! I'm proud to be a part of what's happening here.
What I've seen today boggles my mind. I can't wait to see what happens with the other three auctions!
damn over 1900 thats outragious been outbid damn someone wants it bad!
ReplyDeleteRising ever higher, closer and closer to 2k...
ReplyDeleteThis is so strangely amazing to watch.
>2001 dollars before the first 12 hours of bidding are over
ReplyDelete>By Celestia's beard what CAN'T this fandom do
~Display Name
2001 Dollars. It gives me shivers!
ReplyDeleteYour guy are AWESOME!
2001?
ReplyDeleteMy God, it's full of friendship.
$2,026.00?!?
ReplyDelete$2,026.00.
Think this will break $2,500 before the auction is over?
Probably....there's got to be those last day/minute snipers out there.
ReplyDeleteI'm just curious if our beloved Derpy will outdo the other Pony Auctions.
My flatmate is the one who bid $2,026.
ReplyDeleteHe only wanted to bid on it (and screencap), not actually win it, he technically has the money, but that's savings money. Someone needs to outbid him, it's freaking him out. To top it off, if he does win it, we live in the UK, which apparently they don't ship to!
@WizardWannabe
ReplyDeleteKinda sad that a brony is playing games with the relief money. He should withdraw his dishonest bid and delete the screencap.
@WizardWannabe
ReplyDeleteNot even slightly okay.
Your flatmate should retract his bid or call the auction guy to get it cancelled.
Seriously. This is for charity. What was he thinking?
That is what we call a DICK MOVE. Why would he even do that? This is for charity, for people who are suffering.
ReplyDeleteThis is fraud. Plain and simple and we should call him on it.
@WizardWannabe
ReplyDeleteDoes he not know how to retract the bid? You should probably work with him to try and do that.
@Anonymous It was a spur of the moment action, little thought had gone into it. I was telling him the auction had reached over $2000, and later he tells me he had bid on it, but had expected a bot to outbid him instantly, which surpised me because I was unaware such a thing existed on eBay.
ReplyDeleteIf he could retract the bid he'd do it immediately.
He's not here right now, but I'm going to make him look into it asap.
@WizardWannabe
ReplyDeleteI wish he hadn't at all, but thank you for owning up on here.
On behalf of myself, Lauren, and Chris: Please get that bid retracted as quickly as possible.
False bids mess with the integrity of the auction and make it hard for the generous bronies (giving to CHARITY for an extremely worthy cause) to feel secure in bidding. Some bidders also have a hard budget limit, and it is very, very unfriendly to toy with that.
tl;dr
Thanks for coming forward.
Please, PLEASE retract this quickly.
I'm wizardwannabe's flatmate, just ignore everything he says I think he's freaking out more than me, I am not going to retract my bid, I never considered retracting the bid and I am going to pay for it.
ReplyDeleteMy one and only genuine problem is that I'm nervous about finding a way to ship it to the UK, I'm going to attempt to ship it to a US internet friend who I'm hoping is honest enough to ship it to me, (I hope he is, if he doesn't he's a jerk) once I have found a way to get it to the UK I am going to have it framed and hang the frame above my bed, (or my computer I can't decide where I want it yet) I am in fact actually rather excited about owning this, yes it is the most expensive item I have ever purchased off ebay in my entire life but it is defiantly the coolest.
This all came about from bizarre miscommunication which got really exaggerated and totally out of hand, I don't really know what to say as I was out all day and I wasn't even responsible for making people all worried and stuff, it was just one massive conversation derp.
I am hugely apologetic for causing trouble. My flatmate has more money than I thought he did.
ReplyDeleteI didn't think he wanted to actually go through with it, and I misconstrued the 'bot' comment thing. I should have kept it all to myself.
In my belief that he did not want to win, I came here to find out if someone else was going to bid on it further to save him from spending what I consider to be a lot of money, and made a huge mess of everything. I only found out the truth when he came back home earlier, and told him what I had done. I should have just asked if anyone was going to continue bidding, like a sensible person.
Please don't hold my stupidity against him.
Again, my apologies to all for causing confusion and anger, it was not intentional.
Dear Princess Celestia,
ReplyDeleteToday I learned that over-reacting to a friend's remarks may over-complicate a situations and lead to needless strife when really you believe you are only doing your best to help that friend.
In the end, it's a good thing to talk to that friend first before acting on a misconstrued instinct.
Your faithful student,
Twilight Sparkle
@vertmb
ReplyDeleteOh good, I'm glad to hear that!
There's good reason to be excited... these sketches are breathtaking in person. Good luck to you!
Chris at Q POP -will- ship internationally. There's just no automatic rate calculation. You can contact him either before or after the auction to work out the details.
He does ship internationally? That's such a relief.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry about me and my housemate, we're already laughing at the irony of derping with derpy hooves.
@Anonymous Haha! And my day of irl episode is complete, thank you!
ReplyDeleteThis is why I love this fandom, and this site.
vertmb and WizardWannabe, I dare you to show the $2026 you claim to have for the sketch to the people responsible for the auction. And then repost the confirmation in this post.
ReplyDeleteSorry, I am not convinced
@Anonymous Sorry, but how would Vertmb do that? You want him to show his bank balance to the seller on ebay? I'm just not sure what you mean. I'll ask Vertmb tomorrow though.
ReplyDeletePlease note that it is almost 1am over here, I'll be going to bed soon, so I most likely won't be commenting again until morning.
Well, even if they are a pair of parasprites, my $2000 bid still exists. On Ebay you can move on to the next highest bidder if the top guy is a jokester. Also, wait for the final hour snipers, gonna be mind-blowing.
