• Another Pony Platformer!

    This is more of an engine test according to the creator, but it's still pretty neat! Looks like it's using some Sonic graphics, so maybe a pony sonic-Replacer game isn't too far off!

      Weeeeeeeeeell, judging by the pic, the sprites arn't in the same size of pixels, which should be avoided.
      THIS IS GOOD SUPPORT ADVICE!

      Awesome. I've had a similar idea to create a MLP game based on old-school Sonic platformers. But being completely unfamiliar with Flash game making I doubt I'll make something like this.

      That was a solid game. All it needs engine wise is some enemies, boss battle, and powerups (if powerups are going to be integrated).

      The animation needs work, but since this is an engine test, it doesn't matter right now. Can't wait to see more, I'll try not to be discouraged from my own endeavors

      Having a color picker at the start of the game was genius; I expect to see that option to become a standard in other pony games.

      Oh god, I wonder if you could make a sonic and tails rom hack replacing, say, sonic with Applejack and tails with Rainbowdash. Would probably require a bit of sprite work but it seems like something this fandom would be able to pull off.

      I just had a random scary thought while playing the game...

      In the Sonicverse, the 7 Chaos Emeralds are the ultimate source of power, which Sonic, and other few hedgehogs can harness, in order to enter their Super (Sayian) Form...

      The gems you were collecting looked like Chaos emeralds (aswell the ones Spike already collected)

      And this has come into my mind...what happens if Spike eats all 7 Chaos Emeralds? Will it result an even worse catastrophe than Pinkie with Coffee?

      I love the controls. Very tight. You don't see that a lot anymore. Collision could mayhap be better here and there but solid too.

      So who got the best time? I haven't been able to go under 200 yet. :(

      I managed to get them all in 160, but I got stuck in a wall for like 15 seconds, so I could definitely stand to improve on that.

      184 seconds first time. If I knew where they were I would have been faster, since the last one took a bit of thought.

      87 seconds, the fastest you can do it would be at least under a 70 seconds. If you can manage that you get the gold medal of participation like everyone else.

      Well Sonic 3 & Knuckles was my favorite non-Sonic-Adventure-2-Battle Sonic game, so I look forward to seeing this project at its culmination!

      If Sega were to just remove Sonic from all future Sonic games and replace him with Rainbow Dash, that would make each individual game at least 20% cooler.

      ^If Sega just made better games, then they wouldn't need to rely on our favourite Best Young Flier of Equestria to save their franchise.

      Random thought, going off on Anon's point regarding the Chaios Emeralds, sort of: Has anypony noticed that the Elements of Harmony can easily be compared to the Chaos Emeralds?

      Each Element is powerful on their own, much like each Chaos Emerald, and both Emeralds and Elements, when brought together, are capable of unleashing extreme power, be it the Super form that individuals become in the Sonicverse, or the huge Rainbow LAZORRRR in the Ponyverse.

      Given that the makers if MLPFiM reference everything from old cartoons to Greek Mythology, I believe the similarities between the Elements of Harmony and the Chaos Emeralds are not coincidental. I believe it's a half-hearted nod in the direction of the older Sonic games.
