A Massive compilation of new shipping fics has spawned over on ponychan in an equine romance megathread.
I think we need some renown psychologist to come in and analyze why these ponies are being shipped so hard, and why I keep reading it.
Confound these ponies...
Anyway you can find a link the the thread, plus a link to the pdf (Warning: 100 pages long) below!

these are all in second person... should not want...
ReplyDeleteI should not be as excited as Iam to read this much shipping.
ReplyDeleteHey all, I'm from that thread, and I just wanted to recommend the Celestia Fic, as it was my favorite.
ReplyDeleteWe humans are horny, weird and amusing critters, and that applies to a lot of the ponies (well, unicorns are horny, at least) as well.
ReplyDelete"Why is there so much shipping?"
ReplyDelete"Why is there so much porn on the Internet?"
"Why are 90% of songs about love?"
Also, neat. Good job, bronies.
Man, I'm gonna read these so hard.
ReplyDeleteBeen casually lurking those threads on Ponychan and they've been tempting me to start reading fics...
ReplyDeleteI've been in that thread for a while, and let me just say that some of these writers are crazy talented, and it seems like there are still many more to come.
ReplyDeleteSo much second person shipping, so little time.
I'm really liking these second person stories, and pretty much all of them are incredibly well-written.
ReplyDeleteSome of them are made for background ponies as well. Hoping to see a Vinyl Scratch/DJ PON3 one in the future...
We can't help ourselves, we're under pony mind control! ^.^
ReplyDeleteThe posted link goes to the wrong place, this goes to the PDF download.

omg I love reading these so much. kudos to the writers for making such brilliance.
ReplyDelete>Actually get to reading
ReplyDelete>ENDLESS SECOND PERSON
Eh.
AHAHAHA I see mogu is in here.
ReplyDeleteLol. Hoof time!
Oh god sandman what have you done.
ReplyDeleteThe 2nd person thing is part of the trend, Ben.
Also, Fluttershy's the most adorably inept dominatrix in the history of Equestria. :D

ReplyDeleteI love reading about myself being shipped with ponies.
ReplyDeleteWow, I'm surprised you actually did this, Sandman! Looks like it worked, though, and is being received surprisingly well. It's too bad you just missed my Twilight story, but I have enough in there as-is.
ReplyDeleteAnd to think this all started with a stupid half-joke thing I made about rubbing Rarity's hooves based on a remark on /co/.
@mogu
ReplyDeleteWell, I figured 100 pages was probably the limit for a single document. Besides, there's already a Volume 2 in the works, maybe your Twilight story can open in it.
I am disappoint at the lack of Appledash
ReplyDeletealso...second person is a little weird o.O
HOORAY IT FINNALY MADE IT
ReplyDelete*bro-hoofs for everyone*
to all other bronies who are interested, the thread is still going, new stories are always welcome ^^
ReplyDeleteand on behalf of all the authors, thanks for reading all ^^
@mogu
ReplyDeleteHey, Mogu. Do you mean you finished it, but haven't posted yet, or did I just miss it?

ReplyDeleteBEST WRITING IN THE HISTORY OF LITERATURE
Well... that was...
ReplyDeleteHuh!
Are we still in the third thread, or fourth already? Haven't checked since yesterday.
ReplyDeleteHopefully the movement doesn't grow too much...
(And still can't believe you guys got me to care about Dash.)
Sorry, I couldn't give it more that this, and I read only two stories from the compilation - I know its not nice of me, but they were so BAD, that I couldn't do more. What the hay with the SECOND person and putting reader as the, from lacking of better word, hero of the story? Even, without"Ponyfying" a reader? This looks like cheap hentais written and draw in the way, that the "characters" react in of course dirty actions with the reader.
ReplyDeleteCheap, way too cheap for my taste. Sorry.
@fireant
ReplyDelete"Cheap, way too cheap for my taste. Sorry."
I guess you get what you pay for. ;-)
I normally am a lurker, but I have to chime in here, as I'm a bit irked by some of the responses to this.
ReplyDeleteSecond-person narrative may not be everyone's cup of tea, but that doesn't make it an invalid form of story writing, and if you knew anything about literature you'd know some of the literary GIANTS have used it from time to time.
That being said, this in and of itself does not make a story "bad." If you can't be objective and provide reasons WHY it's bad other than "I don't like second person," or, "I don't like fiction of a sensual nature," maybe it's best not to say anything at all, because that argument for 'why x story is bad' is invalid.
As for it being "cheap," and "only reading two stories because they were so bad," you could have taken two seconds to click the link to the actual thread for an overall description of the stories and saved yourself some trouble, knowing what to expect going into it and deciding then and there if it's something worth investing a little bit of your time in. It tells you plainly in the main post of the thread what to expect.
The bottom line is when someone spends their valuable time creating something designed to entertain other people and all you can do is say "I don't like it," you really are contributing nothing at all. You aren't giving the author any basis for improving themselves. You're just informing the world of your subjective dislike of something, when frankly nobody cares if YOU like it or not. Give us reasons. REAL reasons. Those who are entertained will continue to be entertained anyway, and those who actually provide CONSTRUCTIVE criticism are contributing to that person bettering themselves as an author. And what are you doing besides being a bitter individual with nothing better to do than spit venom at someone whose only crime was to try to entertain you?
