HaHa! Didn't see that coming, but that is hilarious! I'm not a fan of P&S (Just do not like that kind of humor too much) but it seems like fans very like to crossovering ponies with P&S and Doctor Who.
I'd love to see someone take the image macro of Celestia and Luna doing the "diet" scene from P&S and animate it (and of course, throw the original audio on top of it).
@Anonymous I guess it's the same reason I have. I found the third episode too disturbing for me and dropped the series. This video drives me to give a second chance.
So I skipped 4th episode that I heard as bad as third and Mah Boi, further are made of pure win. 6 episode is beyond coolness itself.
a REALLY brief synopsis for people who dont' watch the show: it's about two fallen angels who are living in some city in an attempt to earn their wings back; they do this by killing demons. Panty (applejack) is sex obsessed and can magically turn her panties into a sword. Stocking (twilight) is obsessed with sweets (pinkie pie would have been more appropriate in that regard), and turns her stockings into two swords. Sex jokes, sex jokes everywhere and the show was made in the same vein as cartoon cartoon shows from most of our childhoods.
goddamn that was a bigger synopsis than I thought it'd be.
Dude, animation died with Pokemon and DBZ. The moment they realized that they could turn out the cheap stuff and sell it to the US, they stopped bothering with quality.
Mind you, I'm not blaming Pokemon; it's the people who grounded Pokemon (and DBZ) into a mathematical formula solely designed to empty wallets that I blame.
(>.< just got the image in my head of some executive grounding up pikachu and snorting yellow coke.)
I wouldn't say it's dead *yet*. Some pretty good series have popped up, even after Pokemon and DBZ became formulaic. Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Haibane Renmei, Baccano!, Mushi-Shi, Kino's Journey...
Haibane Renmei had freaky good story telling, but in terms of animation I can't really say that it's up to par with Bebop or even Evangelion.
I'm not sure when the standard in anime became to have a bunch of square eyed school girls (I literally mean square) with breasts that bounce like water balloons, and a CRAP-TON of haze and light effects in lue of actual animations.
I get the big eye things, but square eyes? Really? Does no one else find that the slight bit offputting?
For those saying I was closed minded, I lol. I used to be a huge fucking weeaboo. It took me around 5 to 7 years to realize how awful most of it was, not to mention anime has one of the worst fanbases in existence.
I don't care if you like anime. I just don't want it associated with things I -do- like.
Please educate the businessmen then. Generally, us animators(or students) want to put something good quality and beautiful out there. There's always been a kind of conflict of interest between the artists and the businessmen of this industry.
Aha, I could even give probable reasons as to why a lot of anime out there is bad quality and unoriginal, but this post is long enough anyway. If I don't stop myself, I could go on for pages.

ReplyDeleteDude, that show's practically half-american anyway. 8D

ReplyDeleteA person being close-minded about something because of what they expect it to be, without ever having actually experienced it for themselves.
You're just like the pony-haters, bro.
I knew its going to happen
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm happy it did!! Two fav shows in one go!!

According to this. Applejack is a sex addict and Twilight is obsessed with sweets. Celestia is black and Spike can devour everything.

ReplyDeleteYeah, that show is so awesome. It follows every animation and design theory in the book too.

ReplyDeleteUgh, "by the book". :P

If you like Panty and Stocking then you are the cancer that is killing animation. You're no different than Family Guy or American Dad fans.

ReplyDeleteDepress? I'm here to educate! So that you don't repeat the mistakes of the 00' generation.
So... when is someone going to animate the opening to Lucky Star with ponies?

If only PSG was this instead of hentai crap I would totally watch it.
ReplyDelete@9Nine9
ReplyDeleteI thought Panty's pantys turned into a gun.
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteYou're in luck, Anon, someone went halfway there:

GOD MY OH!!!!
ReplyDeleteShould have put in RD not AJ. But decent quality all around.
ReplyDeletehonestly, celestia and luna would fit these roles suprisingly well, especially if you look at their fanfic interperetations
