• Story: Butterflies and Apple Pies

[Shipping] Applejack and Fluttershy?! That's popping up a lot lately... the pic is done by Geradex Condari on DA.
Description: Applejack has always derived her strength from her family, and Fluttershy has long derived hers from Applejack. Everypony involved learns a little bit about friendship and romance when the two mares fall for each other.

    1. Before anyone points out similarities between this and Appleshy, I'd like to make it known that I've been making this since before Appleshy was released.

    2. Also, the parts are NOT standalone pieces of fiction. I merely broke them up to make it more managable for the reader. Please read all three parts before coming to an opinion, as they were all written in one draft.

    3. I really, really liked this. It was a fresh change of pace from how most FiM shipping fics are written, i.e, one character harbors feelings for another and is afraid to tell out of fear of getting ostracised. *nods* Definitely my favorite Fluttershy/Applejack fic.

    6. Adrian Brony, this story really broke out of the other shipping stories and was written in a way that was very adorable.

I hope to see future stories from you, be it normal or grimdark or anything, really!

Yeah, he has been working on this for quite a while now and in my opinion it turned out great. Its so different then other shipping fic's out there now.

    8. I liked it, but I think some of the editing threw me off a bit, I had trouble reading due to the paragraphing in most of applejack's dialog.

But it's very well executed overall, with the constant thinking and applejack's discussions with her family.

Thanks, I'll watch out more carefully for that next time. May even go back through and fix that when I find a better way to do it.

    12. This was a cute little story, no doubt. I'm a sucker for this sort of thing, anyways. Good stuff!

pft! it'd be silly of me to think i was the only one to come up with this pairing.

i loved this so much! just the fact that it's another applejack/fluttershy story alone made me walk into it already expecting to love it, and it totally met my expectations. the inclusion of the support from her family was wonderful (i tried to touch on it a tiny bit with big mac at the end of mine, but you pulled it off so much better), and it was overall adorable.

reading this made me so happy. great job!

Wow, I'm flattered, really. Thank you so much for the feedback. I think I'll do more serious projects now instead of just special events and friendoffs. I enjoyed yours too, straight up adorable. Really these two fics shouldn't be compared much anyway, they're meant to be two completely different things, heh.

    15. Absolutely adorable. Great storytelling. Loved the way you wrote in Big mac and Applebloom. Very well written visuals. and I also loved the ending, very cute. Fantastic fic in general.
Cant wait to read more from you Adrian :D

    16. D'aww... this is such an adorable fanfic. Very well written, and one of the most touching ones I've seen here. There isn't much else I can say that hasn't already been said. Excellent job!

    17. Huh? I don't think the ponies are lesbians.

    18. Moonshine? I didn't know Equestria was in prohibition. Let alone that Applejack was a Moonshiner...

Oh do you think she runs an underground
      "Speak Easy" as well?

    19. Also I love this story and I hope you write moar.

      Cuz Moar Boar wants moar.

Eh, it was an easily recognizable name for a very flammable grain alcohol and I figured the elegance would outweigh the fridge logic of it.

Plus, ponies need to start fires, and lighter fluid is hard to come by, so I figure alcohol based accellerants are much more common than oil based accellerants.

and don't worry, I've got a little something lined up that nobody will be ready for, heh.

    21. Overall, it was a good piece; however, it was established that Fluttershy can't really do that much harm, other than her stare, and can't exactly yell. More like whisper. You portrayed her as the somewhat admitting strong, resistant type as apposed to the "roll over and take it until necessary" type.

So, any comments about how OOC she was in light of the season finale? I was working with what I picked up from her in the show, and I think I hit closet to her real character than I expected.

Plus when I wrote this, green isn't your color hadn't aired so there's that.

    23. Instead i will post on how i liked your story!

I love applejack and fluttershy, and was so happy that i could find another story about them after ive read appleshy..

And this one is great as well! :)

    24. I love this so much! Cute beyond words! I loved Fluttershy's meltdown (I've always imagined her as having self-destructive anger issues), and I love how original it is — that is, it didn't feel generic or traditional.

    25. Beautiful, straightforward, and simple. Just the way I like stories.
