• Poll Results: Would You See a Pony Movie In Theaters?

79 of you need to embrace friendship.

And with that I'm off to work.  I'll throw a new poll up in 5 hours when I get home.  Feel free to drop ideas below.

    49 comments:

    1. I voted for DVD. Not because I don't love ponies, I just don't like theatres.

    2. I'd probably go to the actual thing so I could maybe meet people who happen to have a similar interest

    3. I introduced a nice amount of my friends to MLP, so I think we could all carpool there.

      AWESOME.

    4. The next poll should be "If you could marry one pony which would it be?".

    5. I voted Yes so fast, I exploded twice.

If this ever came out, I'd fetch tickets for any D.C.-area bronies so we could storm a local theater, Pinkie Pie style.

Hm...I'm in a musical mood. No polls about the songs yet, right? "What's your favorite FiM song?" is kinda straightforward though. You could include the five Super Ponybeat songs if you wanted. Also, it'd need proper distinction - say, between Pinkie's/Flutterguy's Evil Enchantress and Fluttershy's/Sweetie Belle's lullaby. Has the pack decided on a name for that? "Hush Now, Quiet Now"?

    6. Oh, try "if you were a pony, cutie mark would you have? A flower, heart, star, any household items,
any animal, any plants, or other".

      ReplyDelete
    7. There should have been an option for "yes, but only if I have another brony with me."

      ReplyDelete
    8. @Anon
That probably wouldn't work very well, most would want to have specifics.

      ReplyDelete
    9. If that ever happens.. My life will be complete.

SOMEONE EMAIL LAUREN OR HASBRO TO MAKE IT COME TRUE!

    10. Meh,
I really wish, but I don't live in the USA, so it's not possible to go to a classy cinema and watch the crap outa the movies.

I would probably watch it with crappy dubs.
Screw this, I'd torrent this if it happens.

    11. Personally, I'm really hoping there is a movie. A theatrical run might be hoping for too much, but I'd love that. It'd be truly awesome to see it up on the big screen, with an enhanced animation budget and theatrical animation production values.

    12. Voted for dvd.
      Do you know why?
Do you know how fucking embarassing it would be for me as a 16-year-old dude to go to a theatre full of little girls?
Or as a dude to get a dvd about a girl's show?

Fuck that, I'd rather find it on the internet.

      ReplyDelete
    13. @bubsAKAvermin

So? I'm a 17 year old dude and don't give a shit about how embarrassing it would be. The awesomeness would overcome the embarrassment.

    14. New Poll: How about a favorite big story? We did the little stories yesterday, so doing the big ones would naturally come, right?

      ReplyDelete
    15. I voted yes but then I realized something, do you know how many snot noesed brats would be in that theater!?! Crying and screaming and asking who that and why are they doing that and so on and so forth! I would be a pastel colored hell! I'll wait for the DVD.
(not all kids are like that but it only takes a few)

    16. I'm too fluttershy for theatres :( so I voted DVD

Also, it would be hilarious if there were a MLP movie playing in theatres and 90% of the audience were 18+ yo males.

    17. @Tekaramity
i vote for this but only the songs from the shows, not the remixed one.

    18. I was first in line on opening night when Disney released The Princess and the Frog. For a full length Friendship is Magic feature film? I would camp out in the parking lot. Because there is no way it would not be awesome. Because I am an an adult, and I do not have to take crap from people who think I am weird.

...But I would not shell out the extra three bucks for 3-D glasses. Sorry, Lauren Faust.

    19. I voted "yes." Saw the Pokemon movie in high school, one of three non-little-kid, non-parent people in the theater, didn't care.

As for the next poll, did you already do "Which pony are you most like?" I jus woke up, and early to boot, so I'm a little Derpy ATM... 6.9

    20. Picturing a bunch of 20-something Bronies sitting in a theater, surrounded by crying children and little girls talking through the whole movie.

Themesong comes on, done up in true movie fashion (Like the epic version of the pokemon theme from the first movie) and kids start talking. The Bronies are singing the themesong, and the kids are talking.

The next day, newspaper reads "Young Men removed from Theater for shouting obscenities. Claimed 'Those f*cking kids were talking so loud I couldn't hear Rainbow Dash!'"

      ReplyDelete
    21. Depends. Can I borrow the neighbor's little girl?

      ReplyDelete
    22. I voted yes, mostly because I'm terrible at waiting when I want something, so I'd probably cave in and go see it. I would, however, wait a few weeks to go see it (to let the crowds die down), and go during an early weekday matinée, so the theater would be pretty empty, and I wouldn't have to worry about people/children being noisy.

But then...considering how ABYSMALLY the original Mt Little Pony did, I don't think anyone'll be clamoring to making a feature length film, sadly enough... :/

    23. If I knew a bunch of bronies were going as well, I'd go. But otherwise, I wouldn't. And I'd catch it on DVD.

      ReplyDelete
    24. I voted DVD even if I'm a girl I just don't like going to theaters.

      ReplyDelete
    25. Hell, I of 16 at the time saw the powerpuff movie in a theater of kids. I'd prolly do it for this too

      ReplyDelete
    26. As long as it does not require 3D glasses, I would go 7 times to the theatre to see it.

    28. Dudes, if such a movie came out set up an event and try and get enough to fill a theater.

Imagine it, a theater full of bronies who are there for the movie. Not a single cell phone goes off, not a single crying child, and no talking during the movie. A group of people who truly want to enjoy the movie and the characters.

Though the 'no talking' could be up for debate if it became an experience like Rocky Horror Picture Show. A theater of 20 year old bronies singing along to the songs.

That would be a rare treat.

      ReplyDelete
    29. @Samuel

      I'd go for that. :P

      ReplyDelete
    30. If the movie came out, I would wait.

Wait for the inevitably high reviews it would get, wait until people who rarely used the Internet were going because it was mentioned on television.

That is assuming Faust and the team made it, and it was as good as the show.

If the reviews came as raves, with professional movie critics embarrassed to admit how enjoyable it was, then I would suggest going to see it to my family, just to see what all the hype was about.

Then, as I sat and tried to match my expression with others around me, inside I would enjoy every second.

      It would be heaven.

    31. The first two episodes recieved a limited theatrical release (thanks to Kidstoon Matinee) in January. If there was a pony movie, it'd probably be direct-to-DVD, but it'd also probably get a Kidstoon release.

In which case I would RUN there. Not drive, RUN. RUUUUUUUUUUN.

      @Tekaramity

I live in the D.C. area. We should've stormed one of the theaters showing the first two episodes back in January.

    32. How about "What Kind of Crossver" you like to have with the ponies? or something like that...? :D

"Hello, I'm large, single male with no kids and would like to sit alone in a theater full of little girls."
I think I'll wait for DVD.

      ReplyDelete
    34. Voted yes. Even if I had to go alone, and be seen as the creepy grown man sitting in the back of a theater full of little girls.

I'm really liking the idea of organizing a bunch of bronies and storming a theater together, though!

      ReplyDelete
    35. Either alone or storming, I would not care; I'd go.

Ponies can only make you more manly.

      ReplyDelete
    36. Variation on previous idea:
If a movie was ever created, when a brony goes to said movie he wears a button pin with his favorite character to identify himself to his fellow bronies.
      example: http://thumbs2.ebaystatic.com/m/mIwHG7bO2kZPHCsC6Unsbag/140.jpg

It would be funny if this happened and then you look around and see nothing but fellow pin-wearing bronies.

    37. How can someone say "no" even to DVD?

      ReplyDelete
    38. well If I had a Girlfriend, I would go with her, and have a very annoyed look on my face as if I was dragged along to it. Hopefully, if this would ever come true, I did have Girlfriend and I had the balls to come along she would be a fan of the show...

    40. I'd be curious to know what the musical preferences are of the fandom are - reggae, rap, oldies, classic rock...

      ReplyDelete
    41. I wanna see who else wants to have a musical episode (because one song an episode does not count as a musical D:<)

      ReplyDelete
    42. I initially said "DVD" because it wouldn't be any fun to go to the theater without your friends. Chances are not enough people would have been willing to go see it until after all the commotion had settled down and it was already out of theaters; especially if it was a summer release, in which case I wouldn't be around my schoolmates who would be willing to go see it anyway. DVD gives you that flexible option of "Yo guys, we're having fun, we got nothing to do, let's put this movie up on the TV for the hell of it" without having to plan it out like a big event, just chillin' with soon-to-be bronies.

      ReplyDelete
    43. I didn't vote.
      I'd download it illegaly.
WHAT? It's not watching it on the internet DIRECTLY!

    45. I think an interesting idea for a poll would be for visitor demographic.

      2 Parts:
      Male/Female
      Age

I think it would give a better idea because I think that there are a lot of false ages on the youtube acct. so younger people can see the mature content videos.

    46. I feel like adding my two cents on old pollsI didn't even get to vote in...and this one's hella easy...OF COURSE! I'd be there early!
