I just looked at what's written on the picture and... then I remembered the Show Stoppers episode, and Faust 'revealation' about Dash and Scootaloo... then the story I made in reaction to that.
Yeah... I will always say that they missed one hell of a (logical) good occasion.
That was pretty sad. You know what else is sad? The fact that the first thing I thought of when I saw Gilda's problem child shirt was reform school fillies. If you know what that is, lol.
after reading some of the comments I guess it makes some sense, but based on the series Dash seems to do well around kids, just a bit too competitive to have a sibling, more like the ultimate babysitter.
Well, I think that Lauren in some ways is actually right. If Dash were to have a sibling, they'd have to be an older sibling. Dash just doesn't have the mentality of someone who's got a little brother or sister.
I identify a LOT with Rainbow Dash, and I've got two younger brothers (no older siblings.) True, many people would probably not classify *me* as being quite the most appropriate sis for a kid's show, either. But picturing her either as an older sister or a mentor of sorts is nonetheless delightful. I eagerly await Dash/Scoot interactions. Nurturing might not always be something that exactly comes naturally to her, but it'd be sweet to watch it happen.
I suppose now I'm kinda glad that Scootaloo actually isn't her biological sister, but rather a filly who looks up to her, since (as someone on DA pointed out) that increases the show's believability. If all three Crusaders were little sisters of the main six, and yet hadn't even known until relatively recently...it would sorta seem as though life in Ponyville revolved around the main characters. A non-relative does feel realistic, even though that backstage shot at the end of "Show Stoppers" had temporarily convinced me 110% that Scootaloo was Rainbow's sis. Curveball!

ReplyDeleteI think Dash would have done fine having Scoot as a younger sister.
ReplyDeleteThere is a pig in her suitcase...
ReplyDeleteWHY?

ReplyDeleteNow, Dash as a Mentor figure, I can totally see. It'd be really interesting to see her awkwardly stepping into that roll.
ReplyDeleteBut again, it's something that, from what I understand of the character, would be new to her. Not something that she'd have grown up with.
