Strong Bad was wrong. 8-bit is not enough! I'm gonna check out with the rest of my jazz band, and try and get them to agree to playing jazz versions. Thankfully, they're all girls and love the show. ...Why am I a male Asian that attends a historically black female college and watches MLP all while doing his own Jazz band?
You know, we should get together and make something on rpg maker. Embric Of Wulfhammers Castle turned out pretty good for /u/, so why can't we do something like that?
Actually, looking at the rpg maker stuff I wouldn't mind doing something like this. Can you put custom sprites into it fairly easy? I can't code worth a shit.
If I had enough free time and maybe no comics or fanfics to write, I could donate some of my time to making an RPG. At its core, it doesn't seem all that entirely hard.
Yo, Winter Wrap Up, I'm real happy for you. Imma let you finish, but Art of the Dress had one of the best 8-bit remixes of all time! One of the best 8-bit remixes of all time!
@Iron Raptor RPG. I prefer tactical RPGs, but I think each individual main character of FiM has enough depth that it'd work well as a 3 or 4 pony-at-a-time type turn-based affair.
I'm thinking Super Mario RPG. Get a little more oomph-feeling in the bucking.
Only if I'm picking from those choices. Realistically, I'd find it a lot more fitting and awesome to see either a visual novel style of game, or a Puzzle League / Tetris Attack / Panel De Pon variant with the MLP:FiM theme. If the sound effects were right, with the music around more or less, it could be awesome and addictive.
I can provide artwork if need be. If it's 8bit I can see about providing sprite art, we'd need to flesh out storyboard, I mean, heck.. we've got a LOT of locales to choose from, Ponyville, Everfree Forest, Cloudsdale, Canterlot, Fillydelphia, I honestly think that if enough dedicated fans were willing to pool their skills together, we could very well create a damn good fanservice RPG game! :D
every time i listen to it, i hear something i didn't notice last time. just noticed this time that they even included a meow where opal meowed in the song. so great.
Well, I have a platform engine I made sitting around on my computer that I could use to whip something up, and a top down RPG would be fairly easy to make as well.
The only problem I see for me is storyboard and sprites, and the fact that I'm kinda working on something else too >_>

I lost my shit at the scratchy "20% cooler".
ReplyDeleteLove this stuff. This one became my favorite at the 3:30 mark.
ReplyDeleteI'd make an RPG, just would need proper spriters, and story board writers. :P
ReplyDeleteAH WELL
Great song either way :D

@Anonymous Because you are a boss, that's why.
ReplyDeleteI'm not surprised that this is the best sounding 8-bit track, it is Rarity's song afterall
ReplyDeleteThis is the best. I've been waiting for this since the 8 bit "Giggle at the Ghosties".
ReplyDeleteso what are the chances of getting mp3s of these? i would very much enjoy them.
ReplyDeleteCheck the video description, cherrybomb

ReplyDeleteI know how to utilize Game Maker 8. ;3

I wonder... if a dedicated few were to create a game based off the MLP:FiM series, would you prefer RPG, or Sim, like SimCity-ish type?
ReplyDelete@Iron Raptor
ReplyDeleteRPG style. I'm not a fan of the Sims and stuff.
@Iron Raptor Oh god, the decisions!
ReplyDeleteJust as heart-stirringly beautiful as I'd hoped. I am at a loss for further words.
ReplyDelete@Iron Raptor
I concur with the RPG choice.

ReplyDeleteI would play a Pony RPG and love it, but I think my first choice would always be an arcade-style fighter. I'm pretty sure I'm alone in this...
An arcade-styled pony fighter? Hmmm....
ReplyDeleteIt'd be clunky...
I love this guy/gal's stuff!

@Retl
ReplyDeleteI was thinking the same thing. It would be pretty fun to do if we could get the proper resources to do it, since coding isn't only enough.
This seriously made my day, I listened to this and couldn't stop grinning.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite 8-bit remix is this.

ReplyDelete@Iron Raptor Then I declare it to be so! Oh wait, I don't have that authority. Damn.
ReplyDelete@Iron Raptor
ReplyDeleteI'm totally willing to get in on this. Perhaps discussion on Ponychan or some Equestria Daily IRC? :P
My least favorite 8 bit. It just doesn't sound like art of the dress.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to go against the grain and say I liked the Winter Wrap Up one most, then Giggle at the Ghosty, then this one least.
ReplyDeleteNot to say I don't love this with all of my heart, just like the others more.
oh god i love this so much

But Pony would be top priority.
@Neon Noble
ReplyDeleteAs Pinkie Pie once said, "Let's DO IT!!!" :D To the Ponychan!
@Iron Raptor
ReplyDeleteIt shall be done! The Equestria Daily Pony RPG!
Battle stations, everyone!
