Spike x Celestia.
ReplyDeleteGod damnit I love you people. I fucking love you people. I always complained that we saw the same damn ships over and over again, but you know what? This makes up for all of it.

ReplyDeleteI have determined never to doubt the random pairing generator ever again. Glad you liked the change of pace, though.
Wait, No, that was another fic in progress. The generator had nothing to do with this one. heh.

I liked it until the shipping... That seemed forced to me.

ReplyDeleteAt first I would agree with you, but then the author explained it in a pretty awesome way. Didn't seem forced to me.
shipping was good, but i seem to have missed extremely pertinent information that is keeping me from understanding this story

ReplyDeleteI thought I might have flubbed the explanation a bit. The premise is that over a thousand years ago, Celestia had a daughter who died in a tragic magic accident. Spike was a mature dragon back then who tried to save her daughter, but died of mortal wounds in the process. Celestia arrived just in time to cast a magic spell that caused their souls to be reincarnated instead of just dissipating into the void. The implication is that Celestia was waiting over a thousand years for her daughter to be born again somewhere.
I thought I was able to tell just enough for people to kind of understand the gist of it, but I am dissatisfied at the infodump of a setup I did near the end. I will attempt to revise it today so the information feels more natural.
Very well written. Love how it shows more about Celestias and Twilights relationship with each other.
ReplyDeleteThe alternate DA link, of this page, is broken.

ReplyDeleteLoved the story, it flowed wonderfully. The history was a bit too subtle to pick up on during the first read-through, but that may just be me.
I actually didn't like the shipping, because it seemed totally out of character for Spike. That said, seeing this fic actually inspired me to start writing my own. It's gonna be about Twilight and Celestia's relationship (in a non shipping way).

ReplyDeleteIn all fairness it wan't nearly as OOC for him when this was written.
Needs some serious cleaning up in spelling and grammar.
ReplyDeleteMan these stories written half way through the run are pretty silly sometimes.
