Fairy Slayer has created a crazy sortable table for the fics on the site.
Leave comments on this page regarding this for Fairy Slayer to look over, he will ONLY be using this post for updates, so leave anything regarding the table here! Also include the link to the story on Equestria Daily so he doesn't have to run around searching for it.
And with that, here is the link!

Break the table up so we can read the labels for each column without having to scroll all the way back up. Also, maybe make the table editable by users? There are a number of errors and I only looked at a few entries.
ReplyDeleteHow about adding "crossover" to the columns?
ReplyDeleteSlight issue- my story "The Big Rush" is listed under my real name, which I just realized is visable through my google docs account. I think it's just my first name (which isn't a problem), but if my full name is visable that might be a problem, security-wise. Can anyone confirm this for me?

ReplyDeleteThanks, I don't really care if you guys know my real name, I just don't want to risk getting spammed.
Okay, I updated the table layout last night so that the abbreviations appear in the cells; the script won't work properly if I leave the empty cells blank, but they're dots now. All of the recent stories have been added to the db but I probably won't update the web page until tonight or tomorrow. (It's better to do a larger chunk at a time.) I'll be checking the Story Archive thread for details too.
ReplyDelete@Sethisto: If you're happy with it then perhaps pimp it on the Story Archive page... and dare I suggest a call out to writers on /co/ to check it and post their corrections here. (eek!)
@Lucres: Your name has been fixed in the table. The initial load was rushed but I'll be more careful now.
Correction:
ReplyDeletezz untitled Pinkie/Dash
http://www.equestriadaily.com/2011/01/story-pinkiedash.html
Listed as containing Pinkie Pie and Applejack, when it's actually Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash.
@Anonymous,
ReplyDeleteIt's been corrected. Thank you. :)
@Everypony,
I'm modifying the table a little: adding a CMC field and changing "emotional" to "sad" because that's what it basically means. (There's no blog label but it correlates with popularity.) Adding more characters is a possibility, but the width has to be kept narrow enough for most monitors.
To that end, "screencap" is gone (since who would select it?) and those are marked with a background color. Groups will show up in a different color, so the six main ponies' tags show up in a lighter color if they're all included; the same goes for CMC, though we need feedback before adding sort buttons for Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle(I considered making CMC show for any two of the three.) An "everypony" button is possible if there's enough demand.
However, color coding needs to be used sparingly because there are enough men and a few women *sigh* with color vision problems.
As always, if any Blogger pro can give instructions for overriding a blog entry to use a different style then perhaps the table could be hosted directly on the blog. Actually, any suggestions are welcome.
To Fairy Slayer:
ReplyDeleteIf you could remove the listing for 'Greatest Ship Ever, The' for me, as it's no longer on the blog. Thank you!
@Cereal Velocity
ReplyDeleteIt's out of the database and will be gone after the next update. :(
Thank ye kindly!
