At least she got upgraded to bi I guess. Sorry Lauren...
^^ Update ^^ Not that lesbians are bad or anything, come on guys I didn't mean it like that, you know I love pinkie/dash more than anyone! I'm just assuming Lauren didn't intend for everyone to wave the lesbian flag at dash, and seeing her move slowly toward straight would be a good thing in her quest to have a tomboy rainbow pony character that isn't labeled a dyke by the denizens of /co/.
inb4 someone twists the update too <3

hm, i wonder if Mrs. Faust is aware of, and reads this blog. that would be pretty awesome.
ReplyDeletewhop, seems i got the last vote in
ReplyDeleteNobody wants to give up on Pinkie/Dash shipping. :P
ReplyDeleteWe all knew it!! :D
ReplyDelete@cherrybomb0388
ReplyDeleteMaybe I could get her to do an interview some time.
ONE CAN DREAM!
>Implying that's an upgrade.
ReplyDelete@Pacce
ReplyDeleteBetter than pure lesbian!
Maybe
Ya know, while I enjoy lesbian!Dash as fanon...In CANON, I always figured she was the one character LEAST likely to be gay (if only because I suspected Faust would want to avoid the stereotypes).
ReplyDeleteI've always kinda figured that all poni are bi, like gibbons, especially since the females out number the males at least 4 to 1. otherwise all the females would be fighting over the males.
ReplyDeleteand yes, i spend far too much time thinking about this and other shit. pony culture is awesome.
F*ck it! In the beginning this fandom made me hardcore Lesbian Dash fan. But now they changed it to "Be"! Sex with boys? Never!
ReplyDeleteGonna make a comics about it
Woah, upgraded? Not trying too hard to be politically correct there, are we?
ReplyDeleteThere should have been five options: the three shown, and 'lesbian except if it's a Wonderbolt' and 'straight except if it's a Wonderbolt'.
ReplyDeleteAll the ponies are Bi to me unless there's an episode that makes it obvious they're not.
ReplyDeletei know you didn't intend any harm, but the way you phrased both your original caption and your update seems like a slam towards gays. feels bad, man.
ReplyDelete@cherrybomb0388
ReplyDeleteFighting? Not necessarily. There are real-world species where the females outnumber the males, and you simply have one male impregnating multiple females in any given community. For all we know, that's how things work in Equestria, and monogamy is actually the exception there.
@sun tzu
ReplyDeletethat's entirely plausible too, I was more just keeping with the idea of peace and love the show portrays, and Mrs. Faust's ideas about breaking down social and gender norms, and how how it's ok to be who you are and love who you want to. also, like you said, from how the show is portrayed monogamy might be the exception, and a society made up entirely of bisexuals would fit nicely in that, especially since in a cartoon and peaceful world like Equestria things like STDs more than likely don't exist. but that's just my take on it, if I had to guess at what direction the show will go, if it ever touches on where poni come from, it'll probably be some variation on the stork story.
@cherrybomb0388
ReplyDelete2 rainbows touch and a baby unicorn appears in a cloud of smoke
mfw: They actually explain where babies come from accurately. Not going to happen, but would still be hilarious!
ReplyDeleteAgreeing with sun tzu above. As amusing as Lesbian!Dash is, it would be a bit too stereotypically obvious. Using Dash in the series to tell young girls that it's perfectly okay for straight women to be athletic tomboy types, too, is probably for the best.
ReplyDeleteWe'll always have the fanfic and fanart, after all. :)
We already have Applejack to tell young girls it's perfectly ok for straight women to be athletic tomboy types. Dash, on the other hand, exists as something of a role model for LGBT viewers of the show. While nowhere near as delicate as say, Rarity, she is by no means afraid to be feminine. Nor is she afraid to be an athlete. She wears everything she is proudly and with honor, and if that means tripping a few gaydars... so what?
ReplyDeleteI can understand the temptation as a writer to avoid cliche and not do the whole gay = rainbows association, but if its ever conclusively shown that Rainbow Dash is neither gay nor bi, I will be saddened, because I will be losing a colorful pony hero. It isn't easy living like this. You take your role models where you can get them.
That pool looks like a penis.
ReplyDeleteEven compleat with two balls.
It's a siiiign...
bisexuals don't exist she is just confused now.
ReplyDeletePerhaps afraid to make the commitment
@Wiggum
ReplyDeleteYou do realise that having a baby is more of a commitment than being in a lesbian relationship?
That might've been your point, though. Internet is confusing.
Do you guys really need to pull this lesbian shit in order to like the ponies? i think you do it to appear more "manly" Lauren SAID RD wasn't a lesbian. Why not just leave it at that.
ReplyDeleteBesides, since when do gay people own the colors of a rainbow? Yeesh.
Just gonna go ahead and say hanging out with your idol or role model doesnt have any effect on your sexual orientation. I mean everyone here probably has a role model of the same sex and Im sure you dont really want to go off and go down on them.
ReplyDeleteSo I dont see why people are making a big deal one way or the other. Dash straight shippers sure do grasp a straws it seems.
It's funny how interpreting Rainbow Dash as straight will get you labeled as either "grasping at straws" or being a troll. Pot, meet kettle.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteOf course bi is an upgrade! It's twice the partners to pick from.
Speak for yourself, Peaches n' Cream. I'd go gay for Tony Stark.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteNo Pinkie/Dash, EVER!!!!
I'm fine with gay/lesbian people but not when it's a character in a show that if I were also in the show I would be trying to get as my girlfriend!
If I could pick anypony to be my Girlfriend/Wife it would be Rainbow Dash
Et tu, blog bro? I'm not mad, just somewhat disappointed.
ReplyDeleteHaha I act like Rainbow Dash and I'm a lesbian. Power to the tomboys who actually are lesbian!
ReplyDelete@Paul
ReplyDeleteWell sure, I'd try to get with Dash too if I were in that world, lol. But as that's not possible, Pinkie/Dash is pretty darn cute.
"I can understand the temptation as a writer to avoid cliche and not do the whole gay = rainbows association, but if its ever conclusively shown that Rainbow Dash is neither gay nor bi, I will be saddened, because I will be losing a colorful pony hero. ReplyDeleteAfter reading this, I am more convinced that this world is going absolutely nowhere. I want to know why you would be "saddened" by the sexual orientation of a fictional talking pony/pegasus/whatever you want to call it. First and foremost, this is a tv show. A cartoon directed at children. The gay community has lost it if they're looking to a children's show for their gay heroes.
Above all, Rainbow Dash is a badass and her sexual orientation should mean absolutely nothing to their viewers. Take it at face value and for what it's worth.
Rainbow Dash is a bitch.
ReplyDeleteWho cares if she's gay or not?
@Wiggum
ReplyDeleteBisexuals do exist. I like what I like even if if it has boy parts. As far as I'm concerned all of the ponies are bi, they love who they love and don't care about the sex of their partner.
i personally imagine Dash is the type of bi like myself... will only date females but isn't against a bit of fun time with a boy or two
ReplyDeleteher name's rainbow dash. RAINBOW dash.
ReplyDeletemight as well have been lgbtiqq dash.
Why do you need to justify liking the pony show by adding so much sexual discussion to it? Eww.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteThere's actually a few reasons.
The first, and most obvious one, is that it's just fun to speculate on the characters. It's fun to think about what our favorite characters do in their spare time, how they act around people we don't see in the show, their family lives, that sort of thing.
The second, and one of the biggest reasons, is that it's a very real part of life, and even at the age that's the intended target audience, weather or not someone 'likes girls or likes boys' is a big deal. A show with a character that is acknowledged to be Lesbian or Bi would be a HUGE step in the right direction for acceptance of such different sexualities, ESPECIALLY a show that's targeted at a younger demographic.
In kids shows, it's just assumed that "Boys will (eventually) like girls and girls will (eventually) like boys" and that that is part of growing up. Y'know what I want to see, thought? A show (Maybe MLP, I almost hope so) that challenges this assumption by saying "We have a character that will grow (has grown) up to like the same sex".
My two cents.
Don't get me wrong; I've got exactly zero against homosexuality. Several of my best
ReplyDeletefriends are gay and I'm a complete supporter of the GLBT community. I would also approve of seeing some positively portrayed, openly gay or bi characters, especially in children's shows--though I fear we may still be kind of a long way from that.
However, when I picture romance coming into play on this show (if it ever actually does), I do picture them all with stallions (and sure do love that image!) I have to admit, it's somehow dismaying that someone like Rainbow Dash is automatically presumed (possible) lesbian in so many minds and fan works despite that no reference to sexual orientation is ever made (Fluttershy or Rarity could just as easily be gay as she or Applejack could.)
Again, I don't really have anything against the idea or those who like to depict it (hell, I've been extremely amused by a few pictures), other than the fact that I love to shatter stereotypes. In other words, to me, Rainbow is straight. And yes, I may use the name Appledashpony on a certain other site, but that refers only to the fact that AJ & Dash are my faves.
What amuses me is that old!Rainbow Dash trotted 'round spouting things like, "Rainbows, dahlings, rainbows!" as though she were Tallulah Bankhead with a rainbow fetish or something. xDD Double rainbow...!!!! 8D
Er, um, romance is already on the show. I don't understand why this keeps getting ignored, unless it really IS a secret, but Spike and Rarity have their own crushes... not really each other (YET! Give Rarity time, I say), but still. The way those two are portrayed is exactly the extent romance would go in a show of this sort.
ReplyDeleteYes, Dash is a little flaming, and presenting her as a lesbian would look a little... weird, yeah. But remember, the only reason anyone actually WANTS her to stay gay (lol) is because of PINKIE PIE. If they weren't a couple, it would just be silly gay jokes the whole episode, but it's not. They're in pony-love.
The best part? Where's all the evidence for this ship? In the episode where Pinkie actually makes SAD FACES. She follows Dash around like Peppy Le Peau (sp?), and then when Gilda steals her, she's the one that makes the sad faces, the one that acts jealous, the one that plans the "revenge."
Point is, Dash on her own isn't important, it's Pinkie Pie who bothers to initiate the relationship, and, possibly more importantly, Pinkie that breaks all the stereotypes. I refuse to abandon ship because one half of it is predictable.
Chuck Norris ships Pinkie/Dash, and you should too.
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteWhy come there's no asexual love?
Can't some of the ponies just think sex is gross/boring?
Come on, where's my populist movement?
Okay!
ReplyDeleteSo lets get this straight (no Pun intended). It is a nigh impossibility that sexuality / romance in the show will ever go beyond spike's crush on Rarity in cannon. Ever. That said, I think its great that Rainbow dash is the way she is. If she can be seen as a lesbian icon I think that it could be positive, allowing for young people to see things that are associated with lesbianism, and remember Rainbow Dash, their favourite pony. But because of the nature of the show, she must remain sexless.
However, In fannon, I would say lets run wild! Rainbow Dash in my opinion is either of two things, Conveniently bi or a devoted "Wonderbolt Sexual".
What do you mean "upgraded" to bi? All sexual orientations are equal.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeletesorry, but i actually believe that it IS wrong to be gay/bi. I'm sorry if this offends anyone, but it is what I believe and I think it would be ENTIRELY inapropriate for Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie to like each other.
Further more, why would anyone in their right mind put sexual themes into a television show aimed toward small children (that grown men also enjoy)?
I will admit that I cannot stop anyone from giving their oppinion (as you cannot stop me from giving mine), but it seems entirely wrong for this to even be raised as a question.
Furthermore, there is not even enough evidence to back up the claims that Rainbow Dash or Pinkie Pie are Gay/bi/lesbian. (whatever you call it in this case) There is one scene in which Pinkie Pie expresses sadness that Rainbow Dash is being stolen away from her by the half-eagle thing (whose name i forgot). We all know that Pinkie Pie is not the most mentally active character on the show, so it would perfectly normal for this to happen.
Lastly, if anyone has any problems with anything i just wrote, just know that I will most likely never see any replies. I don't plan to change my beliefs, I don't plan to come back to this discussion, and i DO NOT plan to allow this idea to continue un-hindered.
*insert troll face here*
@Anonymous
ReplyDeletei agree with u man so much lol
Its like 50 girls to one guy in Equestria, So I'd like to thing that being Bi or lesbian isn't very unnatural. But thats just what I think :p But in a little kids show, I think theres not going to be any real romance (Unless Spike actually convinces Rairity to like him :D)
ReplyDeleteoki doki loki...lets use the kisney scales to determinate the ponies sexual orientation
ReplyDelete100% heterosexual= rarity
75% heterosexual-25% homosexual=fluttershy, pinkie pie
50% heterosexual 50% homosexual (bi) = twilight sparkle
75% homosexual 25% heterosexual= rainbow dash and applejack
Heterosexual= Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Applejack, Rarity AND for some reason strange enough, Rainbow Dash.
ReplyDeleteHOMOS= Trixie, Gilda, Scissors, Snail, 25% of the fan art on here.
(Hasbrah Rules)
It looks like shes bisexual. I always thought she was 100% LESBIEN.
ReplyDeleteI think you people obsess a bit too much over the sexuality of fictional horses.
ReplyDeleteAs the creator of Ren and Stimpy said when asked about the sexuality of his own creations, "I don't know. I've never asked, it's not my business".
Maybe you should think about those words. You're like one step removed from furries acting like this.
@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteExcept Ren and Stimpy ended up being gay together in the Adult Parody.
those goddamn shippers
ReplyDeleteI apologize that my first MLPFIM fanart was not cute, but something has been bothering me, regarding my favorite character Rainbow Dash so please read
ReplyDeleteWHY DOES EVERYONE ASSUME SHE'S A LESBIAN/ BI-SEXUAL?
So apparently since Rainbow Dash is the Tomboyish sporty one, and the fact that her signature color is Rainbow, then Dash is obviously not a heterosexual.
First off this show was intended for young children, even though we teenagers as well as the adults watch it, which is not bad, But I happened to hate when people make random assumptions about a character's orientation, AND NO I AM NOT FUDRUCKING HOMOPHOBIC, OKAY!
MLP:FIM Is about teaching kids specifically girls about Friendship dammit. Not about special relationships
And another thing
WHERE DOES THIS PINKIE X RAINBOW DASH COMES FROM?
There are no signs of Pinkie and Rainbow Dash or any of them (except for Spike liking Rarity) falling in love with anyone.
RAINBOW DASH ID NOT A LESBIAN OR BI-SEXUAL.
I'm pretty sure when Lauren Faust made..(remade) this new and adorable version of MLPFIM She had NO intention of Rainbow Dash, or anyone being a specific orientation SINCE THE SHOW HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH LOVE EXCEPT FOR FRIENDSHIP.
RAINBOW DASH IS NOT A LESBIAN OR BI-SEXUAL SO ENOUGH!
My above comment is a description from a picture
ReplyDeleteOkay so because Rainbow Dash has a roughish voice and is brave that makes her a bi or les? What's the proof that she has that makes her a bi/les? Its not like all girls have to be all girly. Lets put it this way, she's a tomboy.
ReplyDeleteI think it might actually serve a good purpose to have someone say that you don't have to be a lesbian just because you're not girly. Every member of the gay and lesbian community I've ever met has disliked being stereotyped so why is it ok to do to everyone else?
ReplyDeletei still like to think of rainbow dash as a lesbian it makes a nice change form all the straight and boring relationships in most shows why shouldn't they be in a show she should be proud of who she is
ReplyDeletebut thats just my opinion :)
S.A
Rainbow Dash is non-sexual. She does not confirm any sexual orientation in canon, and it is entirely inaccurate to associate her to any one.
ReplyDeleteIn fanon, however, I like to think of her as lesbian, because Applejack + Rainbow Dash make the most adorable couple I've ever seen.
Rainbow Dash is the most badass lesbian ever. Bi just seems weird for her.
ReplyDeleteshes not gay the people who think shes gay/bi/lesbian are gay just because we dont think shes not bi/gay/lesbian does not make us homophobes we just dont say people are gay because they are rainbow colored or a tomboy
ReplyDeleteher being lesbian makes her 20% cooler
ReplyDeleteS.A
all of them
ReplyDeleteLauren Faust has already come out and talked about (briefly) Rainbow Dash and her orientation. She neither confirms or denies it, and her design choices were performed for other reasons entirely.
ReplyDeletehttp://msmagazine.com/blog/blog/2010/12/24/my-little-non-homophobic-non-racist-non-smart-shaming-pony-a-rebuttal/
Lauren already confirmed that Rainbow is straight, not bi, not lesbian.
ReplyDeletekinda getting tired of the shitty lesbo thing though, it just feeds the Rule-34 fags, and the trolls.
Oooh! can I also point out that I'm a guy, I personally hate gays... no, don't even say you have nothing against them, and my favorite color ( when asked ) is the rainbow, know why? cuz' I'm a manly mother f*cker, the rainbow is NOT the color of gays, its just bad*ss, I think that the gays don't even deserve a flag, they have'nt done anything for me so why do I give them credit for slowly lowering the population of our world?
ReplyDeleteBecause of my above statements, I just grew a third ball.
ReplyDelete@Recon
ReplyDeleteHATE DETECTED: FIREING ORBITAL FRIENDSHIP CANNON! Homophobic much? I'd like to add, I'm a catholic, and doesn't it say IN THE TEN COMMANDMENTS NO LESS to love thy neighbor which means that no matter their personality, you're supposed to at least tolerate them? Why can't we all just love and tolerate, as part of the shows intent. I don't understand at all why freedom of sexuality is a bad thing, care to explain why it's a crime for your thyroid to put larger amounts of horemones into your body than others ... rationally, hmm? Also, if you grew a third ball during the typeing of your message, please visit a hospital, you have testecular cancer. I think it would be GREAT to have a homosexual/bisexual character in the show to help end things like homophobia, something recon displayed quite nicely, now I do believe I just fed a troll, but oh well, there's something rational.
and on another note, I REALLY need to proof read.
ReplyDeleteI do NOT want RD to be anywhere on the spectrum except as a straight girl, because she's already a rainbow-covered tomboy. It would be a stereotype disaster. I'm totally against her being labeled as LBGT in any way for this reason.
ReplyDeleteI personally feel if anyone on the show was gay it should be Twilight Sparkle or Fluttershy since they don't really read as super-feminine or super-masculine to me. I could also see Twilight as a candidate for a character out of the gender binary, but the show doesn't really go into gender identity much beyond "a girl doesn't have to wear a dress, guys!"
the point of the show is to have different personalities, and to show viewers it is always good to be a little bit of each to be a good person and have good friends. Rainbow dash is the "fearless and moraless" side to people's personalities. This is just a personality given to her, along with other ponies being the other split sides to people.
ReplyDeletePut yourself in the writers shoes.
To base ones sexuality off their personality is extremely ignorant. One can only base another's sexuality off of the actions they take.
one can explore the woods a lot; This makes them adventurous.
One can be adventurousness, but it does not mean they explore the woods. maybe a desert.
What this gets at is; the creators probably intend all the ponies to be straight, but they can not enforce it to kids. Because the sexuality of the ponies is left blank, people create the assumption she is gay, just by the personality she represents FOR A REASON.
I happen to work as a PR consultant and in my personal opinion, there is simply no way rainbow dash would ever be a lesbian or bi-sexual on the show.
ReplyDeleteThe reason for this is that it would be a public relations DISASTER for the show. The reason rainbow dash would never be a lesbian on the show itself is because people would immediatly jump to radical (and probably incorrect) conclusions about Faust saying that all tomboys are lesbians.
Can you see how that could backfire?
Personally, I think they are all a-sexual. Pegasi (?) are born when two clouds crash into each other. Unicorns are born magically, with no way of explaining. They just.. Poof then get taken in. Ponies are born (Stolen from a previous comment) two rainbows crash into each other. Rainbow Dash was born from a cloud crashing into a rainbow.
ReplyDeleteI think Rainbow Dash is lesbian (not because of her main name or voice) but because of the back story and the fact that it would fit it better. I believe that Gilda was Rainbow Dash's first girlfriend/partner, but Gilda emotionally abused Rainbow, but after she met Fluttershy, she decided to leave that bitch griffon. RD and Fluttershy last spoke at flight camp and didn't talk to each other until they found that they each lived in the Ponyville area. They tried dating (I think Fluttershy is also gay but that's a whole different story) but it didn't really work for them, but they decided to stay friends. Then RD met Applejack. She loved her and came out to her, finding out that AJ felt the same way, but was forced to stay in the closet because of her conservative family. They became best friends and are in a half-open relationship.

ReplyDeleteEven if we interviewed her, there's probably no way that she would confirm her sexuality. I know that not only children like the show, but remember: it is by definition a kid's show. Not to say that homosexuality or any sexuality besides heterosexuality is bad, but you have to think of the flak Lauren would get from strictly homophobic parents who think "homosexuality isn't a subject for kids". The Hub would probably be sued somehow, knowing how those certain parents are, and Lauren probably doesn't want to risk that for something as unimportant as Rainbow Dash's sexuality.
ReplyDelete@Whats up with my school?
ReplyDeleteI don't think Gilda/RD ever existed, at least not as an abusive relationship like you suggest. RD herself said that she didn't know Gilda was so rude, and I would expect that someone so loyal that it's MAGICAL would not lie to all her friends.
I would also have to agree that the subject of dating relationships (Straight, gay, non-sexual or otherwise) is a little too much for a childrens show. I can't recall anyone ever actually dating in any of my old favorite shows, even though there were various crushes, heck, you probably never saw the main love interests kiss until the show's finale if at all.
And because crushes are important to kids, the shows tend to point it out VERY OBVIOUSLY if 1 character likes another. Spike had a thing for Rarity CLEARLY in the first episode. Helga OBVIOUSLY was crushing obsessively over Arnold in Hey Arnold. All 3 Eds AND Kevin had the hots for Naz in Ed, Edd, and Eddy, mot to mention the Kanker Sisters' obvious interest in the Eds. Mr. Krabs in Spongebob likes Mrs. Puff. And let's not forget Johnny Bravo who likes ANY woman ever. Number 4 likes Number 3 from Kids' Next Door. Tootie likes Timmy in Fairly Oddparents.
WHY am I listing so many examples? Because who-likes-who in cartoons is the MOST OBVIOUS THING EVER.
If RD liked any of the girls or boys in that way it would be painfully obvious. That's the same for any other crush in the show.
"But they wouldn't show a lesbian crush on a kids show!"
Correct. They wouldn't WRITE a lesbian crush into a kids' show. If they wouldn't show it they wouldn't write it. That would be a waste of time, effort, and money.
Now, I believe shipping in general is kinda stupid, but in a KIDS SHOW, where crushes are blatantly pointed out to the viewer like a big bright flashing sign, it's INSANELY stupid.
Bronies, I am dissapoint. If you're going to watch a kid's show, watch it like a kid.
you people do realise that this is a kids show right? any worries or arguments of sexual orientation are a mute point because no writer in their right mind would allow such inappropriate themes such as sex (be they homosexual straight bisexual or otherwise) into a show made for little kids... these are cartoon ponies for gods sake... quit obsessing over this crap. if you want to pursue this discussion in a humorous and satirical manner (reminiscent of joking about scooby doo and shaggy being stoners or dora the explorer being an illegal immigrant) I have no complaints, but stop arguing over these mute points, whats next? arguing about "The Things" "rock penis"? or how about muppet genitalia? if you like mlp fim great, its a cute little show but stop squinting your adult themed imagined agendas into a show about talking animated ponies...
ReplyDeleteI think that a new questionnaire about RD's orientation is necessary on Equestria Daily.
ReplyDeleteShould we realy care if she is lesbian or not she is awsome and that what counts
ReplyDeleteShould we realy care if she is lesbian or not she is awsome and that what counts
ReplyDeleteWhy does it MATTER? I read domaines comment about Dash being a role model for LGBT viewers. are you kidding me? Dash is tomboyish. She's funny. She's cool. why does everyone have to be gay?
ReplyDeleteGay has become something that is OK. Normal. And now, people expect a sporty pony to be a lesbian. This is so sick.
well ur right it does not matter cuzz she is awsome
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeleteYay finally somepony with sense. she is a tomboy.
I don't even no my orientation,but I don't want MLPFIM INVOLVED.
No offense to the folks on this page.
I would agree that Dash is simply a tomboy.
ReplyDeleteI'm not even sure of my own orientation, but I don't really want or think MLPFIM should be involved here.
I don't honestly care if RD is les or bi or het. I love her, she's just awesome and that's what counts.
ReplyDeleteEven if I adore Dash as a gay chara in the fandom, I would hate it in the canon. I like the way MLP:FiM is right now, a PURE show, without any sexual innuendos, why change it? Every pony teaches that no matter if you are awfully girly or tomboyish, if you're a bookworm or a party-girl, if you're a coward or an extra-brave person; we're all the same. So I think it's right to leave a question mark upon the ponies' sexuality because it doesn't really matter, it would change absolutely nothing. She's Rainbow Dash guys, that's enough!
And I am a lesbian, so this isn't like "I'm omophobic but I act like a good person", I HONESTLY do think this.
NB: But I don't like people saying that, if Rainbow would be les, it would be a stereotype. Obviously it would be, but isn't Rarity a stereotype herself? The girly girl who loves dresses and fashion? And what about Twilight, the asocial and swotty one? C'mon guys, Faust hates stereotypes, but we have seen EVERYTHING at this point. No characters can be "original" or "stereotyped", they can just be boring or interesting. I am not like RD, I'm waaaaaaaaaay more feminine, nobody would think I'm a lesbian and i DO NOT FIND gay!Dash offensive, not even a little!
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteRainbow Dash is awesome and cool, why would anyone want to smear her with anything as degrading as calling her a dyke.
ReplyDeleteThere is a great Rainbow Dash fanart webcomic here:http://sorcerushorserus.deviantart.com/.
It deals with her schoolife as a teenager and how bad it was due to everypony accusing her of being a “fillyfoller”.
Honestly this is one of the worst thing for anyone to be accused of.
So disappointed. With all the R34.. Oh and NOT just RD. The whole mane 6 and berry punch, the spa twins, etc. Just gross. If a 9 or 10 year old looked up "Rainbow dash" they would find R34 of it EVERYWHERE. SERIOUSLY?!? It just ruined the show for some people. What if a kid searched that up and then looked for more and more stuff they didn't know? Their childhood would be ruined thanks to some Bronies.
ReplyDeleteWho cares? Honestly people, unless you're writing a story about it ( where you are in your full right to make her any sexuality you wish) or drawing a picture of her ( see above parenthesized statement) why does it matter?
ReplyDeleteTo quote Peter Griffin
"Oh my god, who the hell cares?"
@cultistofvertigo
ReplyDeletei read so many shipfics on this :D
@cristiana dennison
ReplyDeleteWhich is why there are safty filters. That AND it's the internet. Here, there be monsters, not a kiddie park
se ha o lado gay na animaçao eu nao vi nos e que temos uma mente muito suja ora a ponei se gosta da amiga do mesmo sexo e pura amizade e amor ao proximo
ReplyDeleteOnly Spike, Rarity and Twilight have displayed romantic interest in anypony (all hetero).
ReplyDeleteCharacters like Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie are just too cute/crazy/kid-like/??? to think of them as displaying romantic interests any time soon.
Rainbow Dash and Apple Jack are certainly tomboys, but that's nothing to go off.
Personally there is a *lot* of tension between those last two, however. As if within the group those two have a secondary super-best-best-friends kind of friendship with each other that excludes the rest of the mane six - yet it is also a tight friendship that leads to extremely heated emotional fights when they aren't getting along on something. I don't think any of the others of the mane six fight like that. Rainbow Dash and Apple Jack play and fight like they have history.
All that being said, there's a scene from "Wonderbolts Academy" (ep 3x07) where Rainbow Dash says something along the lines of "So which one of you lucky girls gets to be MY wingpony?" *seductive grin*
...That's my girl! You go, Dashie!
