Ouch

lol, insane price; even the SD is still a ridiculous $45. I'd gladly pay it for real discs, but not this intangible stuff. I'll take Blu-Ray, thanks, and give a resounding "nay" (or "neigh"?) to Apple's DRM-infested, probably 720p (doesn't seem to say) semi-HD.
VastaKustutawhat do you mean by "when you see it..."? i dont see any- OH GOD!
VastaKustuta>twilight sparkle the uniworm...
omg does Twilight not have front legs....
VastaKustutanice one apple
Silly Hasbro! Thinking so many people love it enough to pay that...
VastaKustutaJust come out with the DVD!
People will buy that, unless the price is horribly unreasonable.
Also, a custom pony-toy-generator would create a huge profit.
Make a pony! Buy an exact model and have it custom made and shipped to you!
I can see it now,,,
please twilight, magic yourself up some legs
VastaKustuta*looks at comments*
VastaKustutaPFFFWAHAHAHA
I bet that this'll be the next sub-meme besides Derpy and Dr. Whooves.
I can't wait to see how 4chan reacts...
VastaKustutaLand sakes! For that kinda money, they could buy Twilight 2 more legs, and a couple spare tails!
VastaKustuta$70 for over 9 hours of ponies. Not sure if want.
VastaKustutaI don't like Itunes in general. It is just way easier to use any other service. Their DRM is a a pain in the ass and their mp3 players are less convenient than the simple 30 dollar ones. Something about having to have a program installed just to move songs on my device is dumb, and such a clunky one at that. Dragging and dropping into custom folders has always been cleaner.
VastaKustuta=_= With those prices you'd think we'd be going to the Grand Galloping Gala.
VastaKustutaAlthough they are pretty expensive I hope at least some people buy them to prove Hasbro the show is successful. I also hope this doesn't mean they will pull off the videos from YouTube.
VastaKustuta^ That would ruin my day!
VastaKustutaYou know, considering the season is a whopping 26 episodes, I don't think the price is that out of the question. If Hasbro sees people putting down decent chunks of money for this, I imagine they'd be a lot more likely to keep the show running.
VastaKustuta@Anonymous
VastaKustutaI'd gladly put $70 down on a tangible product. If they released a Blu-Ray set of seasoon 1 priced at $80-100, I'd still buy it.
But for DRM-crippled files limited to iCrap devices? Not my thing.
Poor Twilight was in a terrible snowplow accident during the last winter wrap up, but she bravely perseveres.
VastaKustutaIt's not just for those episodes, it's for all current and future episode of Season 1.
VastaKustutaJust sayin'
I find your lack of legs... disturbing.
VastaKustutaSTEVE JOBS STOLE TWILIGHT'S LEGS!
VastaKustuta@Peaches n' Cream
VastaKustutaWell, the Grand Galloping Gala IS the best place for me...

VastaKustutaI dont know what is more horrible - legless Twilight or the price. I agree with all other bronies here - if it was a Bluray, it could work. But iTunes 6_9
I would much rather have a Bluray (and it would be in 1080p and not 720p) than these, but IF the Hub doesn't end up releasing one after season one, I'm going to buy them and decrypt them, and upload them for the WHOLE INTERNET.
VastaKustutaOnly if they neglect to release a Bluray, though.
you dont have to buy every ep
VastaKustutayou could just buy 1 or 2 eps for the sake of supporting the show and then get bluray wen they come out
Twilight's front legs... why
VastaKustutamy fave ting about that pic is that there is a hole above fluttershy ware her legs should be meaning the pic was designed to have her have legs and then later she ended up not having them
VastaKustutaalso if every brony bought 1 ep the sales would be high and Hasbro would see that the show is profitable = pony's will live on after season 1
Well, it looks like Apple took down the legless TS background. It's just black now.
VastaKustuta@Anonymous
VastaKustuta"I find your lack of legs... disturbing." XD I'm dying from laughter!! Damn you!! Seriously!
@Anonymous who replied to me
But I have to use that money to fix Granny's hip!
@Anonymous again
Dammit your right! I'm buying an episode or two to show my support now!
Knowing a large part of my money will go to fund Apple's jail like ecosystem, I rather wait for the Bluray version.
VastaKustutaThat's... horrific. I didn't see it for a bit and to be honest, and I backed away from my screen when I did, it's not right.
VastaKustutayeah its just black now
VastaKustutai hope they re-up it with legs or find a replacement soon tho because the black background is kinda depressing wen its the store page for the most bright and colorful show im currently watching and to somebody that hasn't seen the show it could be like subconsciously misleading thinking its dark and not buying it for there kids or something
Ha ha... Hasbro fail. I really hope it's Apple's fault that they're so expensive. I can't believe Hasbro would honestly think any sane person would pay this much for a show that's already available for free with their own blessing. The missing legs are just icing on the cake. It's like, "Yeah, we don't really give half a damn. And here's proof!"
VastaKustutaEven if it were cheaper, I'm not installing iTunes just for this. I don't actually own any portable video players, so there's no incentive at all.
Come on, Hasbros. Just set up your own video download store on Hubworld. It's really not hard; hell, there are third-party tools out there for that sort of thing.
I'm kind of amused by the idea that it's better to buy Blu-Ray because Apple's DRM and/or ecosystem are evil. Either way, you're looking at DRM and owning some proprietary device(s) and/or software to watch what you've got.
VastaKustuta(Does The Hub actually do HD broadcast in 1080i, or are the files circulating coming from an upscaled source? My DirecTV box happily upscales content instead of feeding native resolution for each channel, which keeps my TV from going blank and re-seeking every time the signal changes. If broadcast is 720p, do we know if those episodes are being rendered at 1080p and downscaled, or just delivered to the network as 720p? I'm wondering if Apple's just got what everyone else has.)
The price annoys me because it's so far over the odds for 26 22-minute episodes on physical media. It's consistent with much of the store, but that doesn't make it better. The SD price is close enough, but I don't want to watch MLP in SD. I'd love to see these show up on Amazon, since their prices are a little more competitive.
That said, I might take the plunge (or just budget $3/week for new episodes going forward, whatever) because I want Hasbro to keep making more. I'm already in Apple's ecosystem, and I have a Mac mini hooked up to the TV that's perfect for this. It used to be the case that toy sales were more relevant to the show staying on, but I don't know what the deal is anymore. Not that this has stopped me from buying toys.
WHY?! WHY DON'T I HAVE A LARGER DISPOSABLE INCOME?!?!!?!
VastaKustutaI don't to pirate such a great series :(
I just looked it up, and that 69 dollar thing is actually a better deal than buying everything separate. If all the episodes are 2.99 each, and there's supposed to be at least 26 episodes in the season (dunno where I heard that, but I think it's right), then 26 * $2.99 = $77.74
VastaKustuta...
Oh wait, episode 1 is free, so it'd actually be $74.75
DAMN YOU APPLE, $5.75 OFF IS NOT ACCEPTABLE!
Of course, one could just rent them for 99 cents each. It'd be like 26 bucks, but you'd only have them for a limited time. Oh well, What are you going to do.
VastaKustuta...Steve Jobs is greedier than Bill Gates...
I would honestly but any dvd that they came out with. I don't need bluray, but I love actually legit owning things that I like. In dvd-form! None of this download thing, I can do that myself for free.
VastaKustutaHaha, they put up a new image, and just moved the characters around to hide it. Anyways I might go for it, since I have a $25 gift card for iTunes Plus I'm hoping that if Hasbro makes a good profit outta this, then they'll actually release legitimate dvds/blurays, if not for me then for the rest of my bronies.
VastaKustutaLinux user... I feel no friendship from Apple. Just give me the physical media.
VastaKustuta@Anonymous
VastaKustutaWindows user
I hate apple too.
Who needs a program to drag and drop files?!
The money used for grannies hip could have gone to twilights legs.... I guess a young mare is just not important as grandma
VastaKustutaFWIW, Apple doesn't JUST Drag-and-drop, they convert your mp3/video to their proprietary media format at the same time
VastaKustuta@Anonymous
VastaKustutaWhich is why it's even more of a pain. Every time I want to rip everything off my ipod I have to download some 3rd party program to do it.
My phone uses files and folders like everything else, its so much easier.
I haven't touched an apple product since the Ipod video though, so I'm not sure if it changed at all.
Holy crap! I just realized they didn't remove Twilight's legs, they just shooped out the MLP;FIM logo, underneath it you can see she still doesn't have legs:
VastaKustutahttp://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/my-little-ponies_4520.jpg
How dare they take away my Twilight's legs!! I'll come to them and go "Hulk Smash" on them with my hooves!!
VastaKustutaLegs are to mainstream.
VastaKustuta@Sethisto
VastaKustutaFYI, I use Windows 7, Mac OS X, an iPad and iPhone and I totally agree with you. There needs to be a drag and drop feature for movies and music. The only thing you can drag and drop onto an iDevice are photos... D:
Oh, and I also downloaded the first episode for free on my iPad.
I won't buy any of those episodes. Yeah, I'll buy a future Bluray version (which might even come with extra goodies). I might even get this from a different place than iTunes, if it were offered.
VastaKustutaI will not, however, take advantage of this option. Not even to support a show I love. Instead, I might get one of the toys, and perhaps to a repaint.
You do know that the only thing I download from iTunes are iPad apps, iPhone apps and free TV Shows and music. As for my music collection, I download them for free on MP3 websites. Besides, who would want to spend a ridiculous amount of money on music? I wouldn't.
VastaKustutaLol, Microsoft makes cheaper stuff. I also have an Xbox 360 S. :P
While everyone is freaking over the price bear in mind it's a season pass. Each episode is listed individually for $2.99 (rounding to $3 for simplicity) keeping in mind there's going to be about 26 episodes in the season 3x26= 69 so while the price may seem outrageous they're only charging you what you would end up paying if you were to buy each episode individually.
VastaKustutaIf you didn't know, part of the money actually goes to iTunes and so yes, it is overpriced. Legitimate dvds would probably be much more affordable, even at the same price, it's a hard copy, you can re-sell it if you don't want it and there's usually bonues features or something else interesting. I think Itunes is really starting to rip people off anymore, considering the prices for individual downloads have gone up and I can't trust them after 5 of my friends had all their purchases and stuff lost before.
VastaKustutaem.. why are ppl not downloading YoutubeDownloader and get it from the web ?
VastaKustutaconvert to ipod format and your done
Or, you could just download a 1080p rip. iTunes only supports 720p.
VastaKustutaNote: Still not available in Canada.
