awesome! Thanks!
ReplyDeletethanks very much! :)
ReplyDeleteI suck in drawing them. :(
I have this page bookmarked and tend to link my friends who ask about why I'm drawing ponies lately or how they can get into it. This is a valuable collection.
ReplyDeleteThese are great resources. I just wish there was a male one.
ReplyDeleteAwesome!!
ReplyDeleteThough, does this appy when drawing male ponies?
Male Ponies have a more flattened mouth.
ReplyDeleteStill no help with the wings though. That's what I have the worst trouble with.
ReplyDeleteI found this on Ponibooru a week or so ago - it's a deluxe pony reference sheet which I find helps me VERY much.

Hope I am able to help some fellow bronies!
Can someone please make some specific guides on how to draw the ponies in the series?
ReplyDeleteI drew my first pony it was crap.
ReplyDeleteI use these guides to draw my second pony.
She looks great ^_^
THANK YOU!
yay~
ReplyDelete@Retl
ReplyDeleteDitto
Drawfriends rejoice!
ReplyDeleteHere's another detailed guide:

My first pony was....okay. Hopeful I can draw better ponies with these detailed guides.
ReplyDeleteSo how do i draw so it looks professional/believable like in the show or like the Pinkazoid one
ReplyDeleteHA HA! TIME FOR PONIES!
ReplyDeleteAre there any tutorials for the wings?
ReplyDeleteI've been drawing ponies since October and I've never made any headway on the wings.
This page is 100% win! My ponies thank you!
ReplyDeleteawesome can really use this
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing. I can actually draw Poni now! you don't want to see what I had before though. seriously.
ReplyDelete"KEEP THE NOSE TINY"
ReplyDeleteI read that in a Drill sergeant voice.
For those on the fence about trying to draw a pony: My teacher says that my writing is hardly legible but my first drawing came out amazing. Try it and i guarantee that it will come out better than you expected.
ReplyDeleteSo . . uh . . . when will we get a pegasus wings tutorial? ;)
ReplyDeleteI still think that the hardest part of a pony is the mouth/snout. Especially if it's smiling showing its' teeth, damn it's hard
ReplyDelete@Robin
ReplyDeleteIn a bit, my young friend, in a bit... c;
Now my drawings are 20% cooler.
ReplyDeleteCould someone post the size proportion between a mare and a filly? thanks
ReplyDelete@Anonymous
ReplyDeletemy first was crap also!
Then i read the guides, used references to draw another. 'It' looked bad.
And to those on the fence (like I was), as long as you don't try, you can still tell yourself that you might be able to draw a proper pony, but once you pick up that pencil, you can't fool yourself anymore.
^ never-mind my previous post, persistence is key.
ReplyDeleteThank you, thank you, thank you!!!
ReplyDeleteMy first pony really awesome!!! Thank you!!!
I'm gonna use these a lot even when I draw in Public , it's gonna be 20% Cooler ...
ReplyDeleteSo is there a guide out there for doing manes? i cant seem to get them down pat :L whenever i draw the they look like ive stuck a mat on their heads...
ReplyDeleteTruly the best tutorials on how to make a pony !
ReplyDeleteI just love this site ! :) :) :)
Hell yes. I figured EQD was the place to go for this. Practice shall be done.
ReplyDeleteThis will really boost me a lot. I just bought Manga Art Studio and might pick up a drawing tablet and this is exactly what I needed.
ReplyDeleteThis looks useful. I'll definitely be using it.
ReplyDeleteAlso, it looks like the "Poni coloring guide 3" link is broken.
Nice, I shall use these to make moat ponehs
ReplyDelete-newBrony
Very helpful!
ReplyDeleteThis oughta help me with my dealership website!
ReplyDeleteThank you so very much!
Still having difficulty finding the drawing program everypony's using. I can only draw on paper so far. Vegeta pony FTW
ReplyDeleteHas there ever been an update for this?
ReplyDelete@Rarity's Augar Many people use different programs for their art. Many use Adobe Photoshop, or Illustrator for vectors. Others use free programs like Gimp, or Inkscape for vectors. Other programs artists common;y use include SAI, Art Rage, and Paintshop Pro, though I've never tried these myself.
ReplyDeletesomepony posted a tutorial on how to make a unicorn magic glow thing http://zutheskunk.deviantart.com/art/Inkscape-Tutorial-Unicorn-s-Magic-Glow-283751963
ReplyDeleteBookmarked.
ReplyDeleteSo very useful. Anyone have a reference guide that show ponies from a large multitude of angles? I kind of stink at perspectives...

ReplyDeleteI need to practice, then I would draw perfectly.

ReplyDeleteThank you for posting these. They are most helpful...and useful!
ReplyDeletehuge thanks for this.
ReplyDeleteHopefully there will be more leg tutorials...
whichever pony posted the clothing tutorial if possible could you please check the link and/or re-upload it?
ReplyDeleteI was working from it the other day but didn't save a copy and now it says this...
"image cannot be displayed, it contains errors"
I'm wishing there was a chart depicting the proportional differences between male and female ponies. It's proved to be a major stumbling block when drawing OC ponies.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had like a touch screen on a tablet so I could draw easily, but too bad I have to stick with my really small 3DS touch screen. =/
ReplyDeletei wish there where some programs i could find that look better than gimp or something, i have a art tablet for my computer but no program to try and draw with thats good
ReplyDeleteReally good, but we need some tutorials for alicorns! (different wings and faces)
ReplyDeleteAaaagh can SOMEpony give me a decent tutorial on drawing Discord, Nightmare Moon and Queen Chrysalis!?!?!? IS THAT SO MUCH TO FREAKING ASK!?

Nice tutorials.
ReplyDeleteWow, these are actually quite helpful.
ReplyDeleteAs great as these tutorials are, they do not apply well when drawing male ponies.
ReplyDelete@MasterBrony117
ReplyDeleteThere's a difference? Man, this sucks... I was going to try my hand at this whole Bronies-thing and now I'm reading there's other versions... Ugh. Any idea where I can look for the male pony tutorials?

ReplyDeleteFINALLY. i can actually DRAW now!
ReplyDeleteThanks :) It is very helpful :) Awesome job
ReplyDeleteI'm having a bit of an issue; I want to draw a character from directly above her/him, but I can't find any images or resources to help with that... Does anyone have anything? I'm sure there was at least one shot in the show with this kind of perspective...
